Enjoyed, thanks. I have McCabe/Miller 4k, totally love it, great rec. Also have Nashville, but I chose the Paramount version because it has a superior scan vs the Criterion. Criterion used a 2k scan from an inter-positive film in 2013, while Paramount 8 yrs. later upgraded with a 4k scan from the original film elements. But then the Criterion has the better supplements. Either way the film is absolutely outstanding, and maybe Criterion will up the ante with a native 4k disc. I want Bound 4k badly but Amazon has yet to drop price to match Barnes and Noble, and Barnes and Noble sold out online, nearest store too far, will wait it out:)
@@pete49327 yes, it would be interesting if Criterion were to get Nashville back in the collection. That sucks that Bound hasn’t come down in price on Amazon, I buy Criterions through them a lot and I thought that they always price matched Barnes & Noble during the sale, but I’m sure that a lot of CZcams channels will get the word out as soon as Amazon lowers their price.
cool stuff not familiar with the last two. i’ll have to see if they’re streaming on MAX since they generally have a lotta the Criterion titles to watch.
@@STEVEHEROLD yes, those are both older movies, but I’ve heard that you can preview a lot of Criterion releases on that platform. I’ve utilized my local library before buying some Criterions and dodged the bullet with an Alex Cox movie called Walker that I didn’t like.
Great stuff Steve, I really enjoyed Bound. I had 60 bucks to spend and I was going to buy 3 Criterion titles but I decided to take advantage of the Kino Lorber sale instead and ended up with 6.👍
@@jimtatro6550 excellent! Yes, I really liked Bound much more than I thought I would and to listen to the commentary from 1997 and thinking that they had no idea then that two later they would have one the biggest hit movies of all time. I’ve already earned $10 from my rewards points this month from Barnes & Noble.
Nice pickups, Steve! McCabe and Mrs. Miller is a great one. My favorite Altman film I think. All That Money Can Buy is a good edition. Enjoy those titles!
@@20thand21stMovies thanks, James. Yes, McCabe & Mrs Miller was so different and you could see this lurking danger and if it had been controlled by the studio it wouldn’t have been as good. I’m definitely going to watch All That Money Can Buy soon, but I have to watch Five Easy Pieces first since I’ve wanted to see that one for so long.
