Not a review...just a look at the inside of my 18M...this should work very well as my daily driver as well as a camper when needed. AMAZON LINK: amzn.to/47BuIGL thank you!!!
That is one sleek van Rusty. A great every day driver, for your trips back and forth between TX and NM, and more than a few trips to get away. You sure did get a lot done in four days!
I've been following Rusty78609 since the Prius camping days, through all kinds of RV's, home bases, and traveling adventures. You are the one who got me thinking about a class B before I knew what a class B or boon docking were! After a year with my Solis Pocket, I think you will love having a class B. Finally!!!
Hey Rusty! I have a Thor Scope 18M. I've had it 1 1/2 years. I still really like mine. I had another rattle beside the stove cover. It was the glass shelf above it. The ends of those chorme tubes are threaded. One was unscrewing itself. There is also a tiny setscrew in them too that can loosen up over time. I look forward to your upcoming travels and hacks. I hope you enjoy your Rise!
I gotta admit that you've got that diamond polished and shining bright. When you laid out your plan I thought you were having another fickle-fit. But now that I see your new Class B, I think you now have the perfect setup for your new lifestyle. Wishing you the best of luck in both your home bases and your travels - in good health. 104° in San Antonio today so enjoy the cool weather in Cloudcroft. Don't hurry home.
Great looking Rig! Your car cover modifications worked out perfectly! It's a lot more compact than your class C, but still seems to have everything you need. Fun days ahead!
Congratulations, Rusty. You’re gonna love it. I’ve got your rigs bigger sister, a Thor 2023 20K Tellaro. Same layout but in the 21’ Promaster 3500, just a little longer, a little more storage & a big fridge/freezer. I’ve had mine almost 16 months & I’m really enjoying myself.
Very nice, perfect for travel. I’m like you, I’d just use the single sofa bunk and loose those puzzle bed cushions. If I need a chair, I’d just swivel one of the van seats. Happy travels!
I’ve never actually been in one of these before. It looks fantastic! I love downsizing. I’m curious about what it’s like living in a smaller yet efficient space.
Whoopi!!!! All Rangers, report for duty. Ranger Harley reporting for duty from the warm Carolinas mountains. Walked and swiveled before the heat of the day. All Rangers, get out there and walk and swivel. Happy day Rusty. Nice rig.
Just my opinion, but you could have saved yourself $100,000 or more by just buying a used chevy express van and even pay someone to build it into a living van, that Thor van don't really have to much in it for the price. Just not worth it to me.
@@liddlekiddle1962 They concentrate on the decor rather than making them practical or durable. For the price the toilet should flush into a holding tank.
Rusty dont know if youll use the cassette toilet I had one in a Coleman Popup Camper. Very easy to use and empty. Happy for you I know youve wanted a Class B for a while.
Wonder if it'd work if you put the towel between the stove cover and the stove to dampen the rattle? Hope you Rize to a good occasion on your future travels!
You found the perfect Rig Rusty. This is great for traveling between your places in TX and NM. Plus you can hit the road and just travel. I seen a guy with a 18M and he claimed with cruise set at 65 in the flat country he got 22-23mpg. Maybe you can head east now and drive the Blue Ridge Parkway or hit the Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg. This is the perfect travel vehicle. Love to have a standup shower in a van. I have drove a ProMaster cargo van many miles and they are great on the highway. Congratulations Rusty, you deserve this nice class B. You talked about one for years.
Class B RVs are a hot item. I would imagine there wasn't much negotiating for a break in price. But I could be wrong (I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.) Anyway, if you feel like it, a short talk about the negotiating process and whether or not the dealer considered any price negotiation would be cool. I like it!
Put a manual latch on your medicine cabinet mirror! The magnetic latch can release to mirror while driving, the mirror will swing and crack/break. Although there is plastic on the back it WILL crack.
@@rusty78609, @larryenok is right. NOMADIC INTROVERT, has a CZcams channel and lives fulltime in a Thor Rize like your Class B. She had to get her mirror replaced after it came open during a drive and broke.
Rusty what I did to stop the glass stove top was lift it up place a dish towel flat and close the lid it will stop the rattle. Ur welcome Tony Rossini Arkansas go Rusty
Small, but love it, love it, love it. Hate to sell my sticks and bricks to get one, but its very tempting. For a short while im going to be traveling in my mini-van. Would like to stop by and see you about Oct.
Basic layout, but not bad. I just couldn't get past the idea of driving around in a Dodge/Fiat chassis. Glad you like it, but No Thank You.....Personally, I would spend the extra $10k-50k for a Thor, Leisure or competitor, anything on the Transit Chassis would do....
I was looking at the 18G model but I’m so concerned and uncertain about Thor! There aren’t many options in this size so I’m stuck. My point in purchasing this type of camper van is to be able to go everywhere and park anywhere. I didn’t really want to go bigger but I might have to in order to have more options. We really don’t want to tow either. Others I was looking at is the Winnebago 59K but I’m not crazy about the inside decor and materials used. I’m also looking at the Entegra Expanse 21B. The Expanse has a different floor plan but nicer looking and on the Ford Transit chassis which I think might be better overall. The Jayco Comet 18C has a horrible bed placement and design. 🤷🏻♀️
Just Pp n a jug n poo n a bag! You can probably double up a grocery bag insert inside that toilet some way n pitch! That way you never have to empty that cassette toilet. I’ve learned lots from watching Rusty over they years.
@@inthesunbythebeach He still has a sewer hose to deal with! My 1988 GMC camper van was from another era. You could still drain your gray water onto the ground. The single waste storage tank was for the flushable toilet which holds 5 gallons of water which I add a little treatment to each fill. One person can go weeks on that fill before it needs dumping. I have a factory carpeted floor which I like for a couple of reasons. It's comfortable barefooted and it makes it quieter going down the road. I do wish I had the front swivel seats when I'm not traveling alone but never would probably use them while camping alone. I don't have a microwave either and my fridge is towards the back. Having the fridge where Rusty's is located would work better for filling. Just set the grocery store bags down inside the camper door and start putting stuff in the fridge rather than kneeling down in the back with limited room. Does that microwave run off a built in inverter or is it strictly for electrical hookup only?
Have you thought about putting a small thin towel under the glass on the stove? That is a great height on the interior I am 5"10 I had always thought it would be for shorter folks.
That's a beautiful vehicle! My van is the same configuration and I love it! So jealous about your mileage, tho. My van is a '94 Coachmen Traveler, self-contained, but no propane. You're the upgraded model! Love it! How does Trikeman like it? Or has Fickleman taken over entirely...lol

THOR RIZE 18M is a dream machine! Very nice camper you got, Rusty!

Very nice, and absolutely adequate for your current needs. You always ride in style !! Have fun 😎
👍 Great! and well-designed, just like Rusty. Love the touch of color with the rug and beach towel.

Nice ride but man I check it out and the price for that is crazy.
really like the floorpan. good choice, Rusty
Congratulations Rusty! This looks like a great, efficient unit.
It is!
What a dream rig! Love it. We know you'll have some fun trips. Thank you.
21 mpg is amazing for a rig that big!
Better floor plan than expected. Thank you for sharing this. 👍👌❤️
I really like the look of it with the side and back doors open. Bonus points on that design! Congratulations 😊
It’s beautiful I love it! Rusty thank you for sharing!
Glad you like it!
Very nice Rusty thanks for the tour. 😊
Any time!
I love that little Class B! Been looking forward to the inside view, thank you!

Holy shit. $126k just for the fun of it. Wow.
Love it! Soo happy for you! Here comes new adventures!🙂👍👏👏👏
Nice upgrade. Your the second person I know that reads the manual, the first is Scotty from Star Trek.

Hey Rusty, stick on weatherstrip at home depot will solve that stovetop rattle and pool noodles are good for water hose to keep it from freezing...
ok
Looking good, Boss! Happy trails for many years to come!! Ranger Rhondlyn
thanks

I believe he said most of the negotiating was on the amount for his trade in.
from Prius, to Casita, to Class C to Capitan, cloudcroft, texas, and now a class B. We have been together a long time! CONGRATS to you!
Sir Rusty the perfect hacienda for the Lone Ranger. Enjoy
Hi Rusty, Good Luck it looks great. The Class B. Take care

Great van, everything you need to live in if you wanted to.
I like the interior lighter colors. Very nice.
Me too!

I put a towel under it
Really streamlined look with all one person or 2 would need, plus with the gas mileage being so great you can use it daily.Enjoy!👍

:) KUDOS and CONGRATS on NICE New Rig!!! 21 MPG IS GREAT!!!! ENJOY and safe travels! Cheers from Left Coast! :)
I like the house part but never been much of a Fiat fan.
They have a hefty price on them, although depending upon where you buy them. But great for a solo person.

I love the cassette toilet. Cleaner to deal with then a sewer hose.

How would someone take a shower without getting water in the closet?
Sthere was a shower curtain
there is a surround shower curtain...works great
