How To Fix Dell Warning Battery is reaching the end of its usable life (plugged but is not charging)

Warning: If a service tag was just installed, you will need to shut the system down and unplug the AC adapter if present. Re-Insert the AC adapter and power on the system to allow for proper functionality.
If a service tag was not jus installed, then the primary battery is not identifiable.

Help with Dell D600 battery: (C1295) With a jumper between Ground and the SYS PRESENT pin I can measure voltage and discharge the battery using a R/C charger /discharger. However I can not charge at the out most pins.
If I put the battery back in the laptop it will charge it full again. Would you know if I need another jumper to allow the battery to accept charging?
