Easy Roasting Pan Apple Butter! | No Peeling! Large Batch Slow Cooker Apple Butter Recipe (Canned)

- Do you have an abundance of apples? Maybe you went apple picking. Now what haha? Why not make a big batch of apple butter?!!
Large Batch Roasting Pan Apple Butter
1/2 Bushel of Apples
1/2 cup water
3 TBS of Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1/4 tsp All Spice
Salt to taste
3 Cups Brown Sugar
1.5 Cups White Sugar
Wash, core, and remove any bad spots from the apples. Quarter and fill roasting pan. Pour half cup of water over apples to prevent sticking. Set Roaster to 300 degrees F. Once up to temperature and apples have begun to sweat stir and lower to 250 and add spices. Periodically stir apples and check for softness. This will take several hours. I let mine cook all day. Once the apples have completely broken down add sugar. Stir well then blend. Leave the lid off and let this cook and evaporate some of the moisture off to thicken. Once desired thickness is achieved prepare several mason jars by washing then heating in boiling water. This batch made 12 pints for me. Fill jars to 1/4" headspace and process in water bath for 10 mins. Remove from canner, place on cooling rack or towel, and let cool and rest for 12hrs. Listen for the click! Check seals. These should remain shelf stable for 12-18 months.

Get you some good eatin' pumpkins or butternut and fill up your crock pot with the skinned chunks and follow this same recipe. Adjust sugar and spices to match qty...
Did you have to add any lemon juice or any acid to that to can it?????
I didn't. Apples are naturally acidic.
