- 13/02/18 TeamSport Basildon Mini GP Plus. As you can see in the video, I gave the driver ahead a tiny tap on the back. He then went on to break check me three times before then letting me pass. Then to deliberately ram me into the safety barriers. Totally uncalled for, disgusting driving. Never take things into your own hands! Let the marshals do their jobs that they do well!
He should not only be black flagged from the race he should be given a 12 month ban from all Teamsport tracks.

I get scared of this at teamsport, like you I have my own equipment, it’s like they aim for you.
I got in the same problem last time i went with my friend and he was behind me and i drifted past someone giving thier front end a tiny bump. He then tried to ram me but i saw it coming and stopped when he went at me and ended up running into the marshal and then quickly got banned

if you want to go and race people don’t go to rental karting places go buy one and get you MSA license that is what I did
relatable it's like their ego just goes up over 9000 and they just wont let u past
I was a Marshal at my local karting place, one of the only karts in the area that had metal bumpers and still ran on fuel, shit was gnarly at times but also very fun when people had good races. The track was way tighter then this and you had a few overtaking chances and had a few incidents where people would intentionally hit other karts giving them basically a whiplash lol. I always stop them, talk to them, warned them and let them go and had 1 instant where a guy kept smashing in to other karts and ignoring black flags, we stepped out on track with fear of losing our legs, and I hit the dude straight on his helmet with the flag, cut the engine off, gave him a serious piece of my mind and send him home. He was out of the building within 10 minutes when, if he raced normal, he had 4 heats to go lol... People like this should be banned from karting for a period of years.

It was a clear head-on impact into the drivers side. He looked right at the other driver and intentionally rammed him off the track. If that’s ok, then it’s time to bin that as a hobby.

Same thing happened to me, i was racing with my dad when a youngster infront, i deciced to overtake him, but then he quickly turned left and smashed me into the barrier. I don't understand how they don't get the black flag.

@@colindiamond8478 a black flag is when you’ve been naughty on track and the marshals pull you in to tell you off about contact or your driving and if you continue to be naughty and not listen to the marshals and carry on they take you off track completely end of session.
i literally get so invested when i am racing what they don't realise is that bumps in go-karts are ten times worse than they look.

I've been to teamsport a few times. Someone in their own racing gear overtook about 7 people under yellows and wasn't even warned for it. Also my mate crashed and his helmet came off
A lot of karting places usually pay minimum to very low wage so are mostly run by young unmotivated teens

I once watched someone crash on my visit to Absolutely Karting Bristol and their visor flew down the track. It's an amazing track in my opinion. I live in liverpool, my dad lives in Bristol. Absolutely Karting has the most welcoming staff from my experience and its actually the track where I begun as a karter. Favourite track, but the overtaking opertunities are tight and it is a lot of fun negotiating the corners of the track

I'm a forza player and I can confirm this is how people race I want to go cart racing Ive only gone to K1 speed once I did good on my junior race but adult races are hard I cant get a hold of the grip accidently rammed a dude after last lap because the automatic stopping caught me by surprise I literally finch out of embarrassment every time I think I about it I apologized profusely to the dude lol I wanna conquer my fear and practice more, should I train on overtakes in junior races or work on racing line in adult races?

What he did was extremely wrong. But you were also continuously punting him from behind.
He didn't break check you at any point. He was just slow and you were trying to break at the same point that you would normally or you were coming out of corners with more speed.
You can't stop idiots from T-boning you, but you can stop them from wanting to by not hitting them from behind 2-3 corners in a row.
I honestly dont know what kind of karting track this is, but most that i know off are purely time-based (fastest times). I can get the frustration of the filming driver that the other driver should've moved aside, potentially ruining his lap and such. Slight punting (imo of course) is sometimes the only way to let these drivers know they're blocking an other driver, some of them dont have any awareness what's happening behind.
Also not trying to be a dick, but its "brake" not "break".
The guy in front was deliberately not letting an obviously way faster guy past... so what he's just supposed to stay behind forever? Lol
@@Steezy93 RIGHT he took a super tight line and then cuts to the middle of the track, and moves from right to left and left to right, unexpectedly.. *The first couple times he was on the racing line and it was a hard spot to overtake, so the filmer could have backed off a bit or just taken a wide line.. he honestly had the speed to go around the outside both of those times and he just didn't take the opportunity it seems*, but other than that he should have just been out of the way after he took that tight tight line..

You'll be feeling that for a few days! I've had my fair share of incidents at teamsport tracks and while those barriers look like they'll take the brunt of the impact, you still get the plastic seat rattling your ribcage and hips.

Team sport needs to have a system with differ at skill based level. Problem is you’ll get drivers who have done this plenty of times and drivers who have never. When you mix them together then it causes things like this.

Bumping people in karting happens very regularly and at some tracks slower drivers are required to let faster ones by
1. It’s karting, it’ll happen
2. Guy recording is clearly way faster
3. Looked like a break check to me

3) If slow drivers are required to let fast drivers go by, then fast drivers should be fast enough to show themselves entering a corner or such, maybe a slight bump in a straight, but the bumps the camera guy was giving the guy in front? F*** him! I wouldn't give him a free pass!
