They kept calling it a chicken burger, but we would call that a chicken sandwich here. A burger is meat ground up and then formed into a patty, a sandwich is either a whole piece of meat or sliced meat. Slight difference, but I had to point it out haha 😄
Forgive them. They're British. So, they don't know much about food. 😂
@@magicalmacaw They know stuff and are lovely people. Home customs are strong. We don't know if they ordered 'chicken burger' or not. So sweet maybe no one would correct that.

@@WyattRyeSway For them biscuits = cookies. I’m told the closest they have to our biscuits is what they call a scone… but those are definitely not what we’d call biscuits.

Popeye's chicken sandwich is second to none.
Depends entirely on the location you get. I've visited my local popeyes twice in the last four years. Both times for chicken sandwiches. Both times I got food poisoning.
@@jishani1 The variation in quality is true of ALL fast food though. You can't really judge them based on their worst locations.
The key to good fried chicken (besides knowing how to season your flour) is to make sure your oil stays at the right temp
In a fast food restaurant, mac cheese would taste different in a sit-down restaurant and taste different in different parts of the country.
Facts! We had a Mac n’ Cheese cook off at work and all 18 entries tasted differently. We were beyond the box food. 🫢

If you watch The Fat Files from The Fat Electrician, he talks about the Toyota Hilux. In there he talks about why rhe chickens aren't the same as the ones raised in Europe.
So, yes and no on the chicken being cooked better. The chicken for these fast food chains are bred specifically for being bigger for the use of consumption. Some chickens are bred for laying eggs, ect.
The reason you don't have the same chickens as us is because of embargoes, taxes and "health" (because of the added hormones and such).
Pro tip If you go to a fried chicken resturant go for fries as the side if they don't let you make it all fries go for the mashed potato.
Most fast food restaurants sell either Coke or Pepsi products. Not both generally. So if Coke is their brand then the cups are associated with that.

The logo on the cup isn't because the tea is made by coca cola (though it might be, coca cola has lots of other brands under their umbrella) The logo is on the cup because they serve coca cola soft drinks at their restaurant. Some chains sell coke products, some sell pepsi products. It usually comes down to which vendor gives them the best deal on soda locally if it isn't a company mandate.
Popeyes is definitely one of the better fast food places. Sometimes I see people in the comments that don't like their biscuits. If you get them when they've been sitting for awhile, they can be a bit hard. However, if you get fresh biscuits from there, they are VERY yummy. Buttery and salty. The chicken is excellent.
Edit: Mac & Cheese is not a great item to get from fast food places. Good Mac & Cheese requires good cheese and being fresh. If you make it in large batches that sit and get served over time, it's going to get bad really fast.
My favorites at Popeyes are their spicy bone-in chicken, mashed potatoes and french fries. When you order a drink there (all fast food restaurants), they will hand you the empty cup and you fill it with whichever drink you want.
Biscuits are dry but good and Superb if you put butter on it, it is a must.
Fast food biscuits are dry. Actual well made biscuits should never be dry with the amount of butter that goes into them. 🤣

I know the uk calls snything on a round bun a burget but chicken burgers in the us would be similar to a beef burger made from ground chicken. So for us, its that ground patty that makes it a burger and not the bun.
Generally, restaurants will have either Coke products or Pepsi products. Working at Taco Bell (back in the days of steam television), when people ordered Coke we had to ask them if Pepsi was OK. (Really, though, at Taco Bell you should get Mountain Dew.)

Its called a Chicken SANDWICH! Not a chicken burger. A burger is made out of Ground Beef. Ive never even heard of a Chicken Burger, i suppose its just something Europeans say. Im curious though... So if someone put Peanut Butter and Jelly on a bun would Europeans call it a Peanut Butter and Jelly Burger? Well its not, its still a sandwich.
Should have tried the red beans and rice! Once upon a time Popeyes had collard greens, so good, hated when taken off menu. I seem to remember green beans there too, but could be mistaken.

yes Popeyes is fried chicken....you have to have sides with fried chicken....restaurants either have Pepsi or Coke drink products so their cups will have the logo....tea is usually it's own thing unless it's a specific one....its not really hard to make fried chicken just don't overcook it til it's dry....it's not something I've seen people do before dipping fries into mashed potatoes....but I'm good with dipping into the mashed potatoes....they need to put butter & honey or jam or jelly on the biscuits they try
The countries in Asia cook fried chicken pretty good too. One secret we have is get the oil the right temperate so you don't over cook the chicken in the middle. 2

The drinks are usually 40-50 % ice. We like our ice. And yes, I love Popeye's. Best chicken I've tried and they have great sides.
Their Mac and cheese is gooey and delicious. It has shredded cheese on top that's melting and stringy when you get it. Their mashed potatoes and gravy are slightly spicy and delicious.
I like to watch you when I'm watching your reactions so I prefer if your picture is bigger. I choose option 1.
Chicken skin is full of collagen, collagen is good for your skin bones hair and nails but bad for doctors because it means less business for them.
Mac n cheese in America is something that families will fight over how it should be made. I think in general, we expect Mac n cheese at any place, especially fast food to not be good.

Other than being chicken sandwiches, they were also calling the fries chips. I know that's how they call them chips from where they are from. But for us, chips are hard and crunchy.
I was a little concerned that they were going to bite into the thigh bone of that chicken, I do the pinch and peal method myself, ripping off the skin and breading to eat that first, then pinch and rip pieces of meat off the bone to eat. It's not called finger foods to be dainty with it.
As for Spicy chicken sandwiches, I recommend getting the Wendy's Ghost Chicken. Also, spicy foods are different for different people, Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich for me, is mostly just taste, with a small kick that hits after eating a whole one.
Mac and Cheese, I don't care for their cheese, I take a creamer for coffee and mix it into it to moisten the cheese, and get more cheese through all the mac. Real cheese is made from milk and milk fat, creamer is mostly milk fat with a little milk.
Their biscuits are very dry, even with the butter flavor, I would add butter, or be ready to drink a lot to wash it down.
And the recipe for making fried chicken is.. Look up all the different ways on how to make it at home, and try it. If never done before, all you can do is get better till you find the way you like it most.

I actually like the larger viewing screen. Some reactors have the video so small you can't see what the video is about. Number 1 for me.

The spicy chicken sandwich is my favorite, I also like the biscuits, mac and cheese, and sometimes I'll get the mashed potatoes and gravy. I usually like simple hearty foods without too many strange combinations so I wouldn't dip my sandwich in the mashed potatoes but I might dip it in ranch.
I love their channel... Popeyes chicken is too spicey for me...

We have a Popeyes here in town and I haven’t been to it in probably 3 years. I do go to Culvers every other week tho,at least.
Popeyes is so good, they slept on the rice and beans but for the most part everything is so good.
I love Popeye's. I normally get two chicken sandwiches, mash with gravy and rice with beans.
I would put the Popeyes chicken sandwich up there with Chick-Fil-A as the best fast-food chicken sandwich options out there.
The best thing at Popeyes is dipping spicy chicken strips in the mashed potatoes & brown gravy. To be fair I'm from Texas and grew up eating fried chicken and chicken fried steak, so they don't really impress me. I just get irritated when I go up north and they don't know how to fry it up crunchy like it's supposed to be. I guess I take it for granted a bit, and going to Popeyes is a chance to eat something you don't usually get at home or at most restaurants. That's why I like dipping spicy chicken strips in the mashed potatoes and brown gravy, but their fried chicken is normal. They do it properly. I guess that's a compliment coming from a Texan.
That's a chicken sandwich, Americans would almost never call it a "chicken burger". Also NO RED BEANS AND RICE? With Franks hot sauce that's the best side at Popeye's!

The biscuits are sooo good i always eat it in the car before I get home. Sometimes i dont have anything to drink but its worth the scorched, desert in my mouth!

Love popeyes when I can go. As people who are retired and on a set income this economy is keeping us from doing a lot we used to do, fast food prices have double or in some cases tripled in the last 2 years. But if I had the money Popeyes would probably be the first stop. Biscuit goes in gravy...lol

When I’m on the go & have to choose fast food, I’d go for Popeye’s. My sides would be rice & beans. Their cane sweet tea is good. Hot sauce would definitely on the side. Don’t say chicken burger. It’s chicken sandwich.🤦🏻♀️
Popeyes is great fast-food level fried chicken. Otherwise, sides and stuff, they are pretty typical for fast food. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s a good meal.

Yeah when a place is mainly known for a certain type of food it is best to stick to that type of food. A lot of the breakfast places don't do as good for the dinner food. Like we have village inn and IHOP which stands for international house of pancakes. They do better with the breakfast stuff.

I'm guessing that's spicy chicken (the only kind to have). The way I fix tea at fast food places is slightly more than half unsweetened, the rest sweetened. Unless you are from the south, it's actually too sweet.
Best thing Popeyes has to me, is the biscuits...the chicken is good too. Oh, the mashed potatoes are ok too😅

Popeyes standard “spicy” barely has any kick to it. But their chicken wings, the ones that come in sets of 6, 12, 18, or 24? _Those_ will blow your head off if you aren’t used to a lot of heat.
I love Popeyes chicken sandwich, it is very good in my opinion.
Last time I tried Popeyes chicken, it was too spicy for me. Where I live now, there is no Popeyes near, so I can't try it again.
I'm from New Orleans so I will say that the general quality of Popeyes decreases based on distance from the city, anyone who goes to a location here will know I'm right. Also our fried chicken in the US is so different from European chicken for two reasons: how we breed the chickens themselves and black people. A lot of the methods for frying and seasoning come from souther black cultures thought to be brought over from Africa originally, it has always been a cheap meat, and the south US has a lot of available native peppers and spices to work with. That is why fried chicken is a staple soul food.
Popeyes is the best fried chicken in the USA. It’s number 1 with me. The batter is full of spices and you can get extra spicy chicken too but it’s too spicy for me. I don’t eat the skin, never have. The chicken is still tasty without the skin. # 1
If you ever get the chance to try Dominican fried chicken it is amazing.

I prefer you in the small box. I would get rid of my doctor as well if he/she told me not to eat the skin. The Beasleys refer to the chicken sandwich as a burger. It is not a burger it is a sandwich. There are no chicken burgers.
