  • Here's the first video I've made about the 2d steering on the Ozone Spyder. I show you a little about how to attach the 2d steering and then take it on a flight and show you how to operate it and give some thoughts about it.
    You also get a beautiful Memphis sunrise over the Mississippi River as an added bonus!

    looks like a perfect place for flying, cool little spot

    I land at a very fast speed with my S3. I'll try pushing out instead of straight down next time. Thanks for the tip!

    Great view of the 2 D steering, people always mentioned but never showed it in use.

      I figured it would be a good topic for interested folks. Hope it helps those thst watch. Aviator PPG said they will do a video at some point as well.

    Glad you got to try it it’s everything I expected plus more I was about to step up my wing but after I did that I decided to keep the spyder very responsive

      Yeah i was already thinking the same after a year until this... Total game changer. This thing is fantastic!

    Great video, thanks for sharing this. I have the same wing and basically use 2d already as I'm always holding both toggles ;) I'm just about ready to tie them in. You live in Memphis? I'm between Knoxville and Chattanooga. How much travel in TN have you done with flying? Always looking for cool places to fly.

    Would love to see your flaring technique when landing ..if you have a chase cam that would make it easy .I added three hours in the air this weekend on my Nitro 200 ES/Clutch That dam 24m Spyder is screaming to get 2d steering face lift ..The wing gets the procedure but its the pilot that gets the face lift LOL

      Yeah, i checked to see if my camera was running about 10 minutes prior to landing and accidentally turned it off without realizing it. It flared perfectly fine though. I kept trims at the white line and pushed outwards and it flared pretty nicely. Ive also pulled my brake lines in about 2 inches earlier this year than they came stock so that may be helping some.

    Does the 2D mean you give up any flare authority when landing? Thanks

    • @Superacerc
      @Superacerc  Před 5 lety +2

      No. Just pull outwards like flapping your arms like a bird and it only pulls the brakes. In fact that is the way you should already be doing it to get the best flare authority now. Pulling outward against the pulley pulls farther than pulling straight down even without 2d.

      Superace RC PPG I wonder if I already flare that way, but aren’t aware. I’m only 10 flights in to the adventure and landings remain a challenge. It’s still early days for me to play with 2D. Great video by the way. Yours is the best explanation I’ve seen of how to use 2D steering

      Thanks. Yeah take note on your next landing. While you're in the air up high try pulling down, vs pulling out. You should get more flare pulling outwards than downwards unless you take wraps on the brake line. I also tightened my spyder brake line by about 1.5 inches to take some slack out. Glad the videos are helping.
