- The dream is on down in Central America! Today I experienced my first time ever surfing in Nicaragua & it was am absolute hoot! We went through the heat of hell & high water to make it to the beach today, but it was all worth it & we'll be here experiencing the dream for an entire week. Huge thank you to NicaTime for inviting us & hosting us here at Playa Colorados. Absolutely stoked to engage in this surfing experienc FOR THE DREAM!! - Ben

Nicaragua is a dream! Even though border crossing can be quite dragging and sketchy, it's always worth the journey. Colorado, Popoyo, Yankee, Santana - nothing more you could ask for.
Stoking! I've been going there since 1993 and you just captured the essence in 12min. Brilliant. And you gave my wife a taste of what it's really like perfectly. Rip a few for the Florida guys!!

JT, the footie is banging!🎞Beyond unbelievable… From rehab to black mold to the feds… And now, the stage is set for the next level of Dreaming! There are no icons in existence that can capture how I feel about this adventure! My mom went to HS in Guatemala. After I learned how to surf, I wanted to return to Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Nicaragua to surf! Nub Universe, for the Win!🏄♂️🏄🏄♀️🌊🤙💥🍍

Wow Liberia airport has really grown up, it used to just be a pull barn with massive ceiling fans. Nicaragua is the best, love its people. Next time just fly into Managua, jump in a nice air conditioned van and drink cold water till you get to your destination.

awesome waves and great barrel dude. going to Nicaragua on March for my first ever surf trip! Seven days of pure surfing! So stoke! And watching this, the hype is through the roof!! FOR THE DREAM!!
So stoked for your Nicaragua trip. I was there for two months in '92 and in Costa Rica for one month in '90. Never surfed there though but I did go to some beaches. The waves are huge where you are! Nice surfing!
My daughter married a Costa Rican so maybe I'll get a chance to travel down there again with the family. It's probably changed a lot since I was there. Have fun, be safe! Pura Vida!

What a dream, Nicaragua is the place were I had really clean waves for the first time of my life such an amazing memory. Glad your border cross went so easy, for us it was an absolutely disaster 😂🤟

When we went to Costa Rica (2015) the first thing we did getting off the plane was peel off sweaters, sweatshirts, etc. too! Interesting border crossing - kind of envisioned a prisoner swap at the old East / West German border crossing LOL! Have a fun and safe trip! Fun to see Nicaragua through your eyes.

so sick. we went last year. Had to carry a Polaris tire across the border. The one at the house was flat cause no one had been there for over 2 years cause of covid and it rotted out. I carried my boards, a tire, my wifes luggage across that boarder in the heat. Thought i was gonna die. WE had the same driver and he stopped for fruit as well! One of the best trips ever! hope yours goes well!

I love NIC. Been married to one for 20 yrs. The surf is consistent, high quality swells with also consistent offshore
winds coming from big lake Nicaragua. The food is pretty amazing too. Try El Timon restaurant in the heart of San Juan del Sur. Best octopus I’ve ever had. Enjoy!
Why the crazy route? There are direct flights from JFK to Managua.
Somehow I don't think JVerni could handle the accommodations but she does surprise us with some of the strike missions... but she's have to leave the designer bag at home.

Why do people fly to Costa Rica and then cross the border to Nicaragua? It seems like a huge hassle/nightmare. Isn't it easier to fly to Managua and then get a ride to the beach? I'm a bit confused :-/

There are so many hidden waves in nicaragua it,ll make your head spin.i sailed the entire coast 2010 an saw them.most spots inaccessible by land.
Saw beaches with white sand an not one foot print on them.
I drove thru it back in 1989 at the end of there civil war..was super happy to make it into costa rica in one piece.
Enjoy the waves my freind hope you aren't claustrophobic sleeping in the jail cell..dont miss that at all lol!

😈😈😈 retro fish , whaled it ! ..... the pitch is steep on barrels sucking sand slowish grind but builds to a close out dumping barrel. Just need a slightly offset swell angle ... i love sandy beach breaks , 6/4 thuster 😈😈😈
