I'm glad to have found my way to this channel, you are an awesome artist and it's great to see these amazing pieces come to life!
Thank you Kanz! I'm glad you found this channel too. You are very kind.
Dan
The best part about some of these projects is getting the whole family together and having a great time. Thank you so much, your work is such a inspiration.
I couldn't agree more. You know the old saying..."the family that makes dragons together......". Thank you!
Dan
Another utterly fantastic dragon. I greatly admire your skill at breathing life into your characters.
Marvin Double
Thank you again Marvin. I really appreciate your nice remarks. Truly.
Dan
This is probably the best one so far. Awesome job!
Thank you Pietro! Glad you like him!
Dan
I’ve looked at all your video’s, and I can see progression! A lot of effort in ten years! Great job!
I guess there is a progression. But I still like some of my older projects, like the Sea Dragon, and my "Rum and Paper Mache". Thansks again Ana!
Oh wow! Well, cheers! By the way, is it possible I could make a mask with your methods? (Dragon related?)
@@anahoffman7745 I do have a series of mask making tutorials on CZcams, starting with this one, czcams.com/video/kt33q82JTmc/video.html. It's not a dragon, but the techniques would be the same. It would just be a matter of tweaking the shapes. Good luck!
OMG! All your creations, are incredibles!
+NukeDesigns
You are very kind. I'm very happy you like them.
Wow great job with the flat plated scales and the horns! The paint job came out great, nice choice with the colors.
Thank you! I chose the colors of Drogon in the Fire and Ice books. I like them too.
Wow, your stuff is always so great and breathtaking! Keep up the amazing work :)
hohaapril

Thanks again. I use many washes, mostly black, but sometimes red and blue.
Absolutely Magnificent Mr. Dan!!!!! Love it, it is soooo cooool! !!!!!! ! Love all your pieces but I think this is my favorite. Of course, as always I am in awe of the way you turn household things, scraps and tape into beautiful works of art! You continue to inspire me.....thank you!

Thank you Kenni! I'm very glad that you like the work! I appreciate you taking the time to write. Good luck to you.
Dan
PS. And yes, I've been doing this for many years.
Hello! I'm personally a major dragon-lover, so it makes me overjoyed to see talented people like you make amazing sculptures of dragons! It would take me a very long time to make something so.... Amazing. 😄
P.S. I love how I always see pictures of your cats in the video 😉
Arkenlo
Thank you Arkenlo! I am very happy you like my work! And I'll let my furry "helpers" know that you like them.
Dan
hey there!
really this is the best thing you have ever made!
also i liked how you add the music from that red dragon video you made.
take care
me
Hey there. I finally took off the red dragon video. It was my first and the quality really deteriorated. It was so pixelated you couldn't see what was going on. But I like the music so I didn't want to lose it.
Keep up the great work, I'm looking to try making a paper mache sculpture someday.
I wish you all the best.
Thanks! It's a great medium. Give it a try!
Dan
Hey GourmetPaperMache, do you teach people how to do this? Man, if I had the money to go to where ever you are, I'd love to learn your ways! AMAZING!
If you are interested look at my blog, www.papermacheblog.com, and my books. All the information is out there. gourmetpapermache.com/about-my-books/

You are always very kind. Thank you!
Dan
Sir, you are a wonder! Thank you for the vision!
+Mary C
Thank you Mary! I am very flattered.
Dan
As most other works, this is purely amazing!
I think my favorite is still the burnt butterfly, except the colors, I think I'd prefer the unburnt version (even if it defeats the purpose and the main idea)
That's okay. I don't mind that you don't like every detail all the time, like the burning of the wings. Art is very subjective. Thanks for you kind works and your support.
Dan
amazing, love your work immensely! would be good to add Toothless the Night fury Dragon to your collection!
Thank you for the nice remarks! I'm very happy you like my work.
Dan
That was the coolest, very well made horns, as it does this white mixture that you pass in the newspaper?
Your work is amazing I just got your Paper Mache Dragons book it's awesome and I just started making my first one. I was wondering though, how did you make the scales on this dragon they look super cool.
Quinn Barton
Hi Quinn. Yes, I used these for the first time, after I'd written the book. I tore up some newspaper, added some white glue, and a little flour and mashed it together. Then I rolled it between my palms making little spitwads which I squished onto the project. That's why they are different sizes. Good luck!
Dan
hi me again i watched all of your videos and this is one of my favorites
I'm very happy you like this one. Take care

This is amazing.

It is going to be very different. Don't want to give it away. Stay tuned. And thank you!
Dan
GourmetPaperMache Cant wait to see your idea of "very different"! Awesome work as always, brought my eyes to the charity and I most definitely will be donating to such a great cause!
Bill Stringer
Thank you Bill! It really is a good cause. I guess my new dragon isn't really that radical. I'm making a dragon-like dragonfly. Just finishing the wings. You can see what little progress I've made on my blog, www.papermacheblog.com.
Take care
Dan
These things are AWSOME!
Glad you like them!

Dan
Hi, where did you get or (use) the eyes and horns, teeth etc? I'm planning to start on paper mâché and try do a full scale of this drogon. Tips and advises?
Their amazing... what's the stuff you use for the neck scales?
Thanks Jordan. That is just paper mixed with white glue rolled into balls and squished on.
Dan
this was the coolest so far

interplexer
Thank you! I'm very flattered!
Take care
Dan
awesome craftwork GourmetPaperMache.
I observed that you have put a lot of tape for fixing the head into the wooden frame at the beginning. But how did you manage to make it appear like wood at the end? Did you remove the tape or did you use separate wooden sheets? How did you do it?
I bought a wooden plaque. I covered it with tape so that it wouldn't get glue and paint on it while I worked. After I was finished with the piece I took the tape off exposing the wood.
Wowee, wow, when you first put the mouth onto the neck it reminded me of the alien bursting through John Hurts stomach in the Alien movie.
Did your cat inspector do a good job keeping you going?
That is such a beautiful dragon, I love how the fabric creates wrinkles and creases which make the texture appear more lifelike.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks Ali! You are always very supportive. I love that classic scene in Alien!
I need this in my life!
Just brilliant
Thank you!
Espectacular!!! Que Arte!!!
+Kerin Rodriguez
Thank you! I am happy you like this.
Dan
You are truly talented, my wife is a big fan. Do you sell or do you keep them?
Hi Dan! What did you use for the teeth and spikes? Fimo or Sculpy. I'm looking for that nice "yellowed tooth" color. I tried the translucent white, and it's nice for new teeth, but not for that yellow brown "been around the block" effect. Great work, by the way!
William Benson
Hello William. I think I used Fimo, the nightglow (I think that's what they call it) for the teeth, and the Pearl for the horns and spikes. The nightglow is kind of cream colored, perfect for teeth.
Good luck!
Dan
Your art is beautiful! It is fantastic !! You are a true master my friend!
Sorry, my English is bad!
Your English is better than most English speakers. Thank you Poul! You are very kind.
Dan
I love your work so much that you inspired me to give it a try :) but I was wondering how did you make the spikes for the dragon?
Hello Ilse. It's just paper and masking tape twisted around pieces of wire. Good luck
congratulations my friend, excellent job! I will try to do something... A question: Do you use flour and paper to do the theeth?
+Andre Lirangi
Thank you Andre. I use Fimo, a polymer clay, for the teeth and horns. Good luck!
Dan
Is insane, awesome you are the best Man!
Thank you! You are the best for taking the time to comment!
Dan
Sir this is incredible work...may l ask if that is masking tape you are using
rollotomasi1964
Thank you! I am using masking tape. I like the beige kind, not the colored brands.
Dan
That was an awesome way to make the skin of the dragon textured! Did you use cotton balls?
I like your creations
thank you very much Macisson and Cie!
increible trabajo ,cuantas capas le pones para que pueda quedar duro?el engrudo lo haces con harina y agua o colbon y agua?
Utilizo harina y agua pasta. Añado 5 o 6 capas de papel a pesar de que es difícil seguir la pista.
amazing!
Thank you!
Wonderful!
Barbara Beverly
Thank you Barbara! Glad you like it.
Dan
LOVE LOVE LOVE your work! I have several of your books and hope to try this as soon as I find some eyes. Question - what did you use to get the tongue and the inside of the mouth to look wet?
Thank you Starwolf! Glad you like this one. I used "clear casting resin" for the shine. It's liquid plastic.
Dan
your work is amazing and has inspired me to create my own collection of sculptures, thank you so much, one question... what do you use for the eyes?
Thanks Andrew! Glad to be of help. I buy my eyes from taxidermy companies. I've used them all. If you google you can find all the companies. Good luck with your work!
Dan
Absolutely amazing! Im definitely going to have to buy your books. Just wondering, what did you use to make the scales?
Glad you like this! These scales were just "spit wads" made of newspaper and glue" Good luck!
Dan
Awesome Work! Drogon!! :3
Thank you!
amazing. Next dragon could be a sort of blueish sort of dragon.
I've done blue dragons. Who knows. Thanks for the suggestion.
Dan
Beautiful work! I wanna try it! Do you make your teeth out if resin or are they paper mache too?
Hardcore Eeyore Those are Fimo. Polymer clay.
I was so excited to see this pop up in my feed. Sweet!
I was wondering, do you ever do dragons with shorter, broader snouts, like Draco from Dragonheart? I've seen your lovely cobra, but haven't found if you have any other wide-headed beasties.
Beautiful work as always. :)
Thank you Darkness! You are very kind. I have made dragons like that with short noses. More like a dinosaur dragon. I don't have any photos though. Long time ago. Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe soon....
Take care. Thank you for following!
Dan
Hello! I am working on making a dragon for a present for my sister. I am curious, what do you make the horns/teeth from? or do you buy them premade? I could probably sculpt some from polymer clay but I was wondering what method you used. Amazing work!! You are very talented!
As always, amazed! Thank you for sharing!! Enjoyed the relaxing music, could you tell us the name of the song and artist? :-)
Hi Deb. I recently deleted the very first dragon video I made from 2007. It was so grainy I couldn't stand it any more. This was the music I used on that video. I still like it and I didn't want to lose it. I buy my music from "royalty free" music companies. I do remember the name. It's called "coming of age". But I don't remember which company I got it from since I bought it 8 years ago. Glad you like it.
Dan
