    Nice kit. I personally used the FTR adapter kit that allows the use of the GT500/BOSS 302 caliper and 14" rotor with SN95 spindles. It requires no grinding or drilling and are literally bolt on. The 14" rotor is a lot beefier than the 13" Cobra rotor which important to me because I plan on open tracking my car one day.

    When using the ATS calipers your brake bios will be changed, since you are upgrading your rear brakes as well you can use the cobra rotors and caliper mounts with 93-2000 Taurus rear calipers which have a 43mm piston. • @HOUSEOFDULA

      17" minimum diameter. Offset and diameter though is not the big deal, its really the spoke design. The spoke to caliper clearance. A lot of fox wheels are dished and flat spoked, these wont work. What Ive been having to do was take measurements to the wheel companies and see if a particular wheel will fit or not.

  • @trent12363
    @trent12363 Před 2 lety

    Obviously this is a great upgrade, but can we talk about foxbody brakes? I have the sn95 spindles with the 95 v6 front calipers, and it's slightly better than stock I guess, but the fronts lock up, so.damn.easy. I've come so close to rear ending people in the rain multiple times, and then I get in my 88 Camry and the brakes never lock up, stops fine and I never see my life flash before my eyes when Im driving it. And it has 40$ tires. Im just scared upgrading the brakes would make it lock up even more. Or does the design of them mitigate this?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  Před 2 lety

      Yeah, not normal. Shouldnt lock up like this. Your master cylinder sounds like its off, along with the fron/rear bias or bad/crappy tires. The pedal effort should modulate the brakes. Even with big brakes. The big brake kits WILL stop on a dime, but only if you command it to and mash the pedal. Also big brakes are installed for fighting fade, abuse when road racing or lots of heavy stops. Something is wrong with your setup, either master cylider bore size or front rear bias. Bias: Fronts locking could also just be not enough braking applied to the rear wheels, without the rear brakes, this puts all that weight transfer to the front causing lockup and worse the car will want to rotate 180. On a stock mustang the bias is hard set in the brake proportioning valve. Usually with a 5 lug conversion, the proportioning valve is gutted, and a manual valve in placed between the master cylinder and rear brakes to manually set the bias. This or crappy front tires. You said $40 tires? is that plural for both?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  Před 2 lety +1

      So I hit up S&S about this and yes, in fact its preferred if you dont want to use a spacer. The calipers are built for a much heavier car and plenty beefy. The .100 off of the caliper is preferred so you dont have to machine the spindles.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  Před rokem +1

      Thank you bud, appreciate it! Im still working it. Offset and oddly diameter is not really the biggest issue, its spoke clearance and placement. Most common "classic" foxbody wheels, Aodhans, BBS etc...with flat face and "dish" will not fit these. Will need to use a slightly more modern rimmed edge spoke style wheel. Believe it or not the 17" FR500's I have on my blue car fit perfect. These are the LMR FR500s. 17x9. Standard offset, 17" and only 9" wide they fit...but its because of the spoke design to allow for that caliper face to spoke clearance. Its been painstaken BUT I think I have an ESR wheel in mind for it.
