Thank you thank you thank you!! What a great set of information! So glad I found this video. Still in diagnosis phase but you have given some great tips! So interesting to hear that healing time is so variable and can take up to 28 weeks.
Ultramarathon runner here: I stress-fractured both pubic rami secondary to imbalance having not regained full flexibility in the ankle of the other leg after a broken ankle the previous year. I used crutches for a week, rested (no running, no cycling, minimal walking) for a further 5 weeks (I swam arms-only with a pull buoy to help my legs float). Started running again after 7 weeks, built up gradually and no problems.
Thanks for sharing!
I fell off my bike and fractured my post inferior ramis a week ago today. It was EXCRUCIATING, but thank God it is a stable fracture. I have yet to start physical therapy. I spend 23 hours in bed a day because it is VERY painful getting in and out of bed or sitting on the toilet. Getting around in crutches is exhausting and painful. The same with a walker. I couldn't fathom riding a bike in three months, let alone two weeks.
Excellent video, by the way. I'm now taking Paracetamol instead...
Yes!!! This is what I’ve been trying to explain to my army doctor! I slammed my pubic ramis 7 months ago and I’ve been having sharp pain in my groin, lower back, and left leg (entire left side) and it’s super sharp when I run! When I walk over 15 mins the aching pain comes back. They don’t believe me or even try to understand my situation! They keep giving me naproxen, ibuprofen, etc!! And I keep telling them it’s not helping. Physical therapy isn’t helping either. Until today, my injury has still not healed. Sooooo stressful. I got so emotional watching this because she actually knows what she is talking about and explained everything soooo accurately! The only weird thing about this situation is that when I had a bone scan done it showed all my fractures, however when I did an mri it came back smack dab normal! I am sooo confused and so are my doctors.
Scans are not always reliable with this and it also depends on the quality of the MRI scanner. Best of luck for your recovery x m
@Keturah McCabe why? creepy much.
Dang I have ao much pain. I'm can barely walk. If someone tried to make me run. I just couldn't do it.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Super helpful - THANKS!
I’m 11 weeks post inferior ramis fracture. Finally, this is the most helpful video I have found! Bless you and thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Jennie, I had a rotator cuff repair surgery in January and within a week I started getting severe sharp pain in my right side pelvic
Turns out I have osteoporosis.
My MRI showed a pubic Rami stress fracture. How long until you felt healed and how much activity did you do each day? I am 58 and have several small pets to care for
I'm tired of the nagging pain 😢
HI MAN HOW Hello friend, how did you recover from this? I also have stress fractures in Remus Pobis. I have been out of sports for a year and a half. What helped you to recover? Thank you very much

Really helpful, thank you. I have this injury, plus a few more at present and this was much appreciated.
Did it heal

@@JokerGaming-qg1hl whats your injury
well presented! thank you
You're welcome!
She is excellent, high knowledge and I my physiotherapist told me as well that X ray doesn't show stress fracture. I have been in a lot of pain from two days ago due I have pelvis stress fracture but look like I got as well pubic stress fracture and today gp ordered X ray and naproxen, oh Dear definitely...
. I have a weird painful strain in my lower bicep. it's aching badly, and hurts the most when I straighten my arm. I can feel the hook, so I guess I'll just give it rest for a few days.
I was riding my bicycle, when my foot slipped off the pedal, causing the top tube to slam into my groin,,I have had tenderness 😫 and a lump on the RH public bone ever since,,that was in 2010
Thxs
I've been diagnosed with this stress fracture. I'm in the military and I've been to Physical therapy, using crutches, offloading the usual work load and the pain is only increasing and spreading. I've been increasing vitamin D and looking at my diet for quick healing. It's been about a year since the initial pain started and I'm not sure what to do next. Also, Thank you for your knowledge, it was mighty helpful!

I read you need, a CT or MRI with infusion to visualize ischial/pubic rami fractures.
MRI is excellent for diagnosis of ischial, pubic and sacral stress fractures (aka insufficiency fractures). Contrast infusion is NOT needed and not helpful.
Think about the activities of life: I packed up a huge house for move. Everyone said "use your legs to lift". So repetitively squating to life boxes and twisting to put them on top of something. For five yrs. I had Dx of piriformis syndrome, sacroilleitis etc with PT and multiple injections. I think there is too little emphasis on repetitive injuries of or ordinary life causing stress fractures.
I think i just did this a few weeks ago. I'm miserable. Super active and no time to rest. So painful.
My husband hard a motorcycle accident and the borns are open please what are we going to do for the borns to close and heal fast.
The doctor who is treating your husband is best placed to answer this.
Broke my pelvis like this from a motorcycle accident . I healed fine and was able to walk around, kneel, squat , normally without any problem. Like nothing ever happened.
Until I went back to work as a waitress. After 3 weeks of working my regular schedule, I’m now currently sitting on my couch, and back to using my crutches because it feels very uncomfortable to walk again 😔.
☹It was likely a too sudden increase in load - once you're ready to go back, see if you can work only half your schedule in a day and take at least 6 weeks to get back to the normal load. This will help the bones to gradually grown stronger until it can tolerate the full load for the full time.
I fell of a ladder yesterday I was totally shook.
I can weight bare, and I drove home.
The bruise on my hip is black and it’s swollen.
The pain is in the front area near my pubic bone … 😖
I’m resting today trying to avoid Hospital due to the long waiting times.
Is walking style changed after fractured with comminuted fracture of right inferior & right superior pubic ramus
Any fracture has the potential to alter gait because we tend to adapt how we walk when we're in pain and that then become learned behaviour - sometimes it can cause weaknesses that also contribute
@@SportsInjuryPhysio is any treatment for that especially right gait like physiotherapy
M also pelvic factors. 1 month bed rest with belt every time. Then Phisiotherapist’s 2 months. Now little walking. I hv a best Phisiotherapist. If need any one I will be share.
I like u. You are good!
Does anyone know why this would only hurt on the right side. It's super annoying. I can do cardio all day and my left is absolutely fine and unbothered. My right constantly hurts. It makes 0 sense. They should both hurt equally
We very rarely injury both sides of our body at the same time - think about it - you tend to pull one calf muscle or break on arm etc. It is more common for just one side to be injured rather than both because we always tend to use one side of our bodies more than the other.
Am interested of the cause I have same problem
Hi Joseph, did it heal now
I have pain after i start running for 5min after that the pain goes away i cannot leave running as i have physical for army what should i do now 😞
It sounds like you may have a tendon injury - it does not sound like a bone injury because that would get worse as you run. Get it assessed by a physio and they can help you figure out how to adapt you training to maintain fitness but help your injury recover.
If you wanted help with your rehab and an exercise plan, this is something that our team of physios can assess and help you with via video call. You can read more about how the online consultations work here: www.sports-injury-physio.com/services

What if the borns are open
No, we only have one about hip bursitis: czcams.com/video/tT-ULAADujU/video.html
and lateral hip pain in general: czcams.com/video/njKjK7epupc/video.html
The treatment for these 2 conditions are pretty similar to TFL issue but I'll put TFL on the list.
And don't crash into cars when cycling ‼️
It seriously hurts in this area. I run about 9 miles every morning. I was finishing up running one morning, I felt a sharp pain in this area. after I had to suddenly stopped for 7 days after a 30 day streak. By the 7th day the pain was all gone. I succeeded on my first attempt back after a week (6miles) that’s all I was able to run, As the run progressed, the pain grew more, I was in terrible, unbearable pain. it gets too tight. I can't loosen it. My left leg seemed to get shorter with each stride. I can kind of feel me hobbling around the track, my engine had even more power but I was forced to stop It's not so much the pain thing, but the limited movement in my leg
It really sounds as if you need to take time out from running and allow it to heal properly - if you act now, your recovery time will be shorter than if you continue to try and run with it. Get it assess so you know what you're dealing with and what is needed for recovery.
@@SportsInjuryPhysio I think that this is really bad news. I'm very worried about losing aerobic fitness and endurance. It wouldn’t play on my mind so much if a combination of certainty and visibility and a clear timeline of how long.
The feeling reminds me of when i had a fracture in my knee, that prevented my knee from straightening.
I have the same problem as yours 😢
Always great diagnosis and advice! 👌🫶👏
Feels so painful omg..just by seeing this video my genitals hurt omg🤣🤣🤣😭
