Thanks everyone for your support of my channel. Please watch an ad or two while looking at my videos. It helps and I have great partners!
The precollision saved me from hitting into a deer on I 70 one night. I didn’t even have 1000 miles on my 2019 Camry when a deer ran in front of me. The pre collision kicked in and ‘I only grazed the deer without a mark on the car. If ‘I was in my 2017 Camry the front end would have been destroyed. Thank you Toyota!
Janet Rohrbaugh Thats weird because since 2012, all Camrys gave the option for Safety Sense.
You need to read what I said. I can’t explain it any clearer
Janet Rohrbaugh You said “ if I was in my 2017 Camry, the front door me would have been destroyed”. Both vehicles have the same safety rating and same technologies.
Bad Drivers of The Hampton Roads Area dang, lolololol. Wrong year. Forgive me. I’ve owned so many Camry’s I can’t even count them all. Sorry about that. Should have read 2019 Camry.
How fast were you going at the time? I blazed trough a crosswalk and nearly collided with 2 pedestrians. They were crossing on the red and I was traveling about 10-15mph but still I'd rather not now them down
Thanks for explaining it went to dealerships didn't know this existed in a Corolla and no one could tell me other than it auto brakes
Thank you!
Great Video and Thank you! With the lane departure alert, is it always on? Or do you have to toggle it off and on? Reason I ask is that when I test drove a 2020 4Runner it had me toggle, but the salesman said it's always on.
I haven't yet played with this on my 2018 Camry SE. I haven't had time to mess around and see how it looks. Seems pretty good.
Lane departure, radar cruise and auto high beams work great.....you don't ever want to see how well pre-collision works, because that means you're really close to getting into an accident lol.....thanks for watching!! Jeff
This video is better than others because it shows these in action. But my experience with a rented 2022 Prius (not prime) was underwhelming. Dcc was great but lka worked only for weak steering nothing over about 30°
Pre collision seemed to work. Some body decided to slam on their brakes to turn in to a restaurant and my car managed to slam on the brakes itself. Neat feature. Love my Corolla SE
That's a great story.....nice to know it works in the real world :) Jeff
Hi, Jeff. I have a 2019 toyota corolla le .
After 30 mins the toyota safety sense turns off and says error clean sensor for the rest of my drive and beeps constantly. It's been like this ever since I got the car pre owned in early Feb. 2022. What can I do. I have platinum warranty and toyota says I need to pay almost $4,000 to fix it. Also my security alarm honks when I'm driving after 45 mins and constantly does it till I'm done driving and turn it off. What can I do? When ever I turn off the car it resets, then 30 to 45 mins later it does it again. Sometimes 5 mins in driving. 1 time I was fueling gas and my car didn't want to start due to the security system. I had to unlock and lock the car till it let me drive/start the car. Now it's just a Hassel. I thought toyota was a safe car for me now. I feel like selling it for something else due to this problem.
is this on the tacoma too?
Will dynamic cruise work in stop and go traffic if you press resume button or tap the gas in 2018 corolla. Excellent video.
And Can lane keep assist and acc help in traffic jam like in audi
DK Danis 5 ru
I have a 2017 Corolla and the dynamic cruise control shuts off at around 20 mph so this doesn't help in stop and go traffic.
2017 Rav4 resume driving itself (in adaptive cruise control) after stop in traffic, you just have to tap lightly the gas pedal
does all safety sense cars come with radar? We just bought a 2016 Auris touring sports with safety sense, but yea... we havent gotten the car yet lol, so we dont know if it does.
mine works fine just brought a 2017 corolla se
Thanks for your feedback!
1:00 was pulled from a video where the guy actually showed it didn't stop before the obstacle when he didn't use the brakes himself.
that being said i just bought a 2017 corolla
Hey Richard! Thanks for the comments! You're absolutely right....I wanted to find a clip of the sensor going off, but it's really difficult to simulate in the real world lol......actually it's gone off once already while driving my new 2018 Camry XLE. The simulation they did in the video was tricky because they were trying to simulate cars and people and etc...not quite real world. Thanks so much for watching! Jeff
I came to comment on that exact thing. Very misleading as the dude plowed through that box. It alerts you it doesn’t seem to break for you as the video he took that from shows.
I drive a 2018 1794 tundra and can confirm the system works.
While driving on the highway at 70 mph, car infront deployed emergency brakes. I also slammed the brakes but before i could react, my vehicle was already braking. It saved me from rear ending the car infront, unfortunately tge vehicle behind me did not.
The clown in corrola was keeping the gas pedal pressed, which overrides the system. You will only get beeps. In order for the system to work you need keep speed above 10km/h and remove foot from gas pedal.
hzk12 so if you dont release gas pedal is it going to crash?
@@suvari225 yea. In a real world situation the car infront slams the brakes. U will also lift foot of the pedal and press the brakes. Car here will break immediately, even before u slam on the brakes. If u want to override the system then press Gas. The reason this works this way is that if there is a system malfunction while you driving on highway. It wont slam brakes as long as the gas pedal is pressed.
I have a 2005 Toyota SR5 4Runner best vehicle we ever own and our next one is going to be at Toyota I think they are the best vehicle on the road
I am thinking of buying Camry 2018 solely for this purpose, is this available on SE models and up? Do they come standard or you have to add it on?
Hammad Khan I bought myself a 2019 Camry se and they came standard
@@nayelimarquez6332 Thanks for letting know. This is great.
That's how I'll keep you safe
An excellent choice for the drunk driver.
I was thinking the same thing....and sleepy and distracted drivers as well
When will toyota have beltbegs like Mercedes Benz
They'll copy it soon enough. All these TSS features are on my 2014 E300 with AMG Suspension. It just goes thru brake pads and rotors real fast though. But stops on a dime, everytime.
Karol What’s funny is Toyota’s pre colision came before Mercedes Colision avoidance but Mercedes had lane assist before Toyota so they both
This guy used a video from someone else that showed that the autobrake does not work after getting an audible beep and message from the dash. Hardly a good sales pitch. The original video shows the car crashing into a barrier, again, not working.
TSS only stops for vehicles and pedestrians. It is not designed to react to foil covered boxes... baby carriages or anything other than a vehicle or pedestrian. Attempting to demonstrate the system using a vehicle or pedestrian places you and other road users at extreme risk. Please never demonstrate these systems... ever. It misrepresents their abilities.
So my tundra TSS doesnt have this, thanks toyota
Bmw>Toyota
And then you woke up
