- In the second video of our Haiti series, we take you on a journey into the shadows of gang-controlled Canaan, a notorious community in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Determined to reach the forgotten souls of Canaan with the gospel and hope of Jesus Christ, we knew we couldn't show up empty handed. Through the generosity of our supporters, we were able to provide thousands of dollars worth of food to many families in the community.
As we walked the streets and met the people of Canaan, we saw firsthand the struggles and hardships they face every day. But in the midst of it all, we witnessed the resilience and strength of the human spirit. And most importantly, we saw lives changed and hearts transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. This video is a testament to what can happen when we choose to step into the forgotten corners of our world and shine the light of God and the hope of Jesus Christ. I just want everyone to know that this video is the second video in a series that will span at least 6 videos or so. There are some really amazing and insane things coming up. The fourth video I have the least amount of video for but was by far the scariest situation I have ever been in and probably the same for my team. We truly saw God do some miraculous things. I also have to be very careful with how I portray certain places and situations as to not put the people we worked with who still live there in danger. That’s important. Please pray about all of this as the time required to make these videos are quite substantial. This video here took about 40-50 hours of editing and 12+ hours a day. Will be another 3-4 days until the next one is ready.

Wow! I watched this video through eyes filled with tears. Weeping and conviction overwhelmed me for ever complaining about any circumstances in my life. The destitution and chaos were horrible. I pray that we Christians will realize that what we see in Haiti is likely to happen all around the world, yes, even here in America, as we draw closer to the return of Jesus. Abba help us to make our calling and election sure, take up our cross daily, and follow you. Share the message of salvation, and prepare our hearts for what is to come. I spent many hours in Canaan leading groups with my husband building homes and wells for this area. My heart breaks for these people we dedicated each house to Jesus and gave them a Bible after completion. Thank you for being obedient to the Holy Spirit I pray an outpouring of His Presence in this place in Jesus name!!

Hey Brother Phillip. You mentioned that you don't want to fail God and that you want to be an example to other brothers in Christ and a lot of other things. I am so glad you mentioned that, I don't even know how to respond but that openness and honesty helps me so much, I feel like such a failure at times and not many leaders really talk about their struggles so openly, or atleast from what I have seen, it encourages me to know that I am not alone, I want to do so much more, and be a light, bold for Christ, I struggle daily, and just knowing someone else also has their weaknesses and yet seeing God use them so mightily, is truly encouraging, it helps me believe that God is able to use me, and overcome my weaknesses, and get me to where I need to be and I am truly thankful for that. I'll be honest, I'm scared, I'm scared to fail God, I'm scared if ever becoming a lukewarm Christian that is no good, I'm scared that each day that I don't care enough, I need a lot of work, and Its hard for me to believe at times that God wants to prepare me first before I just go out and do all this stuff, but what you mentioned truly helps. I hope and trust that one day, I will be able to do so much more than just work the job I work, and talk about Christ there when I can. Thank you brother, these videos are encouraging and helping me to be stronger in my faith.
Just always remember that God’s acceptance of us is not based on our performance. We should not want to fail God because He is everything to us and we want to please Him with the testimony of our lives. And because we love Him deeply. But it’s never about trying to earn His acceptance.

I have many views about this visit. In the spirit of God. First, I thank God that you went there and returned, and shared what you experienced with everyone. You had the Holy Spirit with you, which IS a certainty. II no longer have questioned the Holy Spirit in my life, since I found Christ, and felt it in my life; even at times when what I wanted or needed something that seemed impossible. What I wanted and needed was not likely and rare, yet there it was! There is NO other explanation.
About Haiti... This is what happens when Government no longer exists, or matters. Gangs take up that responsibility and rule. Those that rule may believe that what they are doing is to benefit everyone. They are wrong... Others that take that role are taking advantage of that, for their own selfish gain. They are wrong... When the good people are carrying machetes, just to protect themselves... they are saying they need God's help too.
You shared your love of God with them. Those children you and your team were with... I think they were more interested in the food you brought. I'm guessing they were also used to waiting, for whatever reason, so they would profess allegiance to ANYTHING, just to have food! At the same time, I understand that you planted the seed there.
I pray Phillip, you were there to offer that help they needed, and I pray for those good people that they have reached out and have taken God's hand and received it, even though everything around them seems like they are alone. They are not alone. Philip and all of your team members, I thank you for sharing God's hand.
Philip, I wonder how YOU feel, since being there, meaning other than relief or thankful. You were exposed to some challenging moments with desperate people around you that trust almost no one. You prepared for this trip. Still, being there, even you said, "in the flesh, this is terrifying!" In the flesh, we fear! Those words are simple and true. I don't think most of us WANT to be hurt or killed! It's a natural reaction, and you witnessed it yourself; something that so many there, think about and fear about often.
Phillip, you are not failing God. Sometimes we worry about how God, and others look at us. We are not perfect, as you know. Still, we sometimes think, "are we doing enough?" Does God or others understand us? Yes, God knows and understands your weaknesses too. I see it, about you. So, I know it too, about you. For others wanting to follow in your footsteps, you've given them a good path to follow. Prepare. Simply saying, you are doing more than enough, my friend!
I think you came out of this with much more love for God and others, and with much more purpose. Just continue your need to prepare in the times to come, like you did in this trip.

You know what you're talking about. Yes. Seeds were planted and a witness was once again given. It is true that God loves those people because humanly speaking they would not be reached with the Gospel for multiple reasons. One day, that will become apparent to them as to the lengths God went to to send them the Gospel, help, and hope.
