Great review as always. It is great that Xiaomi still packs accessories in the box. Funny you said it is occasionally comfortable to hold. 😅
I am thinking of switching from pixel 7 but Xiaomi is still not there for me mostly due to their OS and screen uniformity.
already pre-order the international version. Can't wait for Friday. Wish there was a dark navy version. With my luck, it will probably be released a few months later but oh well 😄

When it comes to hardware the Xiaomi is the better phone. If you're willing to pay more money and if you like HyperOS I would go for the Xiaomi. Pixel 8 is still a great phone though!
Does anyone have problems with camera fogging (going from warm to cold or vice versa)? I'm also interested in the battery life (if someone uses 2 SIM cards, a little playing games, a little photography, using it for surfing the Internet and social networks / applications, while the mobile Internet is turned on non-stop)?

The global version is more expansive than the Chinese version but the only thing I missed in Chinese version is android auto if anyone has solution for it please provide me and I have k70 pro as well android auto doesn't work it says ( Android Auto encountered an error

It would be the best compact phone, even better than the Iphone 15, Pixel 8 and the S24 but unfortunately is more expensive.

Had to move from Huawei Mate 20 Pro after 5 years due to obsolete software. Compared to the Huawei, the Xiaomi 14 has a much better sound and obviously it is faster and has a great camera and it is dual sim. Downside, a less colourful screen and I miss the notification lights at the top notch. The lock screen presentation was simply horrible so I deleted it. Huawei one was simply way superior,so I guess will have to stick with a static picture 😞. Overall, Xiaomi feels as a flagship, same as Mate 20 pro felt 5 years ago. Now only time will tell if it will match it.
You used Mate 20 Pro for a long time! I remember traveling to Mate 20 Pro's event to London at my own expense just to cover that phone. I really liked it!
We're on the same boat! I'm currently still using my aging Mate 20 Pro, but planning on switching to the Xiaomi 14 in the coming months. Are there any other things I should take note regarding the differences?
Agree. Huawei was way ahead of their game.
I have tried others like s21 and pixel 7, but I still prefer the P30 pro. It is easier to use all around.
@@pradiptajw Had the phone for a couple of days. It works great, didn't notice any issues so far. It is a bit wider but shorter than Mate 20 Pro. And I had to do some customisation myself, like installing the SwiftKey board ( I personally found the xiaomi one rubbish), but these are just personal opinions. Objectively, the phone feels much faster than Huawei felt and navigating through the apps feels instant. Also, it is a very robust build, so if you enjoyed the Huawei you should find Xiaomi 14 enjoyable as well. Battery is great too, charging in 20 mins from 20% to full, lasts more than a day.

@@mrbanlieu6429 that's actually not true, the phone would be very much capable of AI features. The thing is that Android AI features work on Google servers. For now only Googles own Pixel phones and the S24 models have it as Google sold Samsung an exclusive time limited license. I guess it's just a matter of time for Google to include it in one of the upcoming Android versions for everyone to use.

So expensive and no head phone jack? Come on, companies: bring back the headphone jack! The sound in wireless headphones is atrocious
I'm afraid that feature is never coming back. Maybe Xperias and other niche phones will retain it.
The headphone jack is completely outdated when it comes to using it on a phone. No new headphones on the market that are designed for everyday use come with a headphone jack. If you still want one the Redmi phones still have them though

@@mrgrumpyjinx it's a decent phone but far from being one of the best phones on the market. I actually enjoy using the USB C port with headphones so I don't have that extra big dust collecting cutout in my frame. All a matter of taste.

Peak brightness on this phone is a gimmick!
Yesterday I was on a video call in a dark place and an option popped up to brighten up the edges of the screen so that it illuminated my face. Pretty useful.

I wanted to get s24 plus but in Europe they sell Exynos instead of Snapdragon. I had 2 Samsung previously with Exynos and they died after 2 or 3 years. Either battery burst or the device simply froze. No way I will trust Exynos again
