So What is Pulpitis?
- As we have studied in the previous lecture, pulpitis in simple words is the inflammation of the pulp.
- Pulpitis is a process that occurs within the pulp when there is an external stimuli, like bacterial attack or mechanical trauma to the the pulp.
- There are two types of pulpitis. Reversible pulpitis and Irreversible pulpitis.
- Reversible pulpitis is an acute inflammatory condition which can revert back to it's original state once the cause of inflammation is removed.
- Causes of reversible pulpitis can vary. The most common cause of reversible pulpitis being small carious lesions. It can also be caused by occlusal attrition, minor tooth fractures or operative procedures.
-How to diagnose reversible pulpitis? Reversible Pulpitis is usually symptomless but if the symptoms do occur they follow a particular pattern. Watch the video to find our what are the symptoms.
- What is the Treatment of reversible pulpitis? The treat involves just the removal of stimulus causing reversible pulpitis.

Very helpful video. Reversible pulpitis can by sweets too right?
Yes, not taking care of your teeth (eating too much sweet) can cause caries which will then cause pulpitis.
Sir please tell those books name your telling these information , will you ?
I mostly make my videos from Torabinejad. While also reading a couple of articles or referring some other books.
My pain seems to fall into the category of reversible, but it has been ongoing for over 8 months, so it doesn’t seem to be reversing. It began after a filling (when the tooth never hurt before the filling). Is there anything I can do to help it reverse at this point (like antibiotics) or do I most likely need a root canal?
I had a similar issue recently-pain on anything cold or hot touching the tooth and some pain too when I chewed on food. I was worried the tooth was infected and would eventually have to be pulled. The dentist took an X-Ray and couldn't see any evidence of an abscess, however, the tooth had an old filling in it and that was worn thin so the nerve was being affected. She removed the old filling and replaced it with a new one. The tooth seems to be settling down now and I can eat and drink pretty much as normal again. Anti-biotics will help with symptoms if there is an infection present, but it will only be temporary relief and the infection will return again, worse than before, and the tooth will have to be removed or else a root canal performed. Have your dentist check out that filling-maybe it isn't sealing the tooth properly. Best of luck, tooth ache can be very painful.
@@martinrea8548 Thanks for sharing your story. I had an x-ray at an endodontist yesterday, and it showed abscess forming around the tooth, so I guess I need a root canal. I'm in so much pain now, I can actually hardly wait 2 weeks for the root canal (that I thought I was trying to avoid!). They put me on antibiotics too, so hopefully that will help with some of the pain from the infection in the meantime.
@@mn_ice Hope it all goes well for you. Root canal isn't too bad really. I had one of them too. 👍

Not yet. But I will be making some. Leave your suggestion for more lectures you want to see.
