    As one of the blokes who makes FlickFleet it feels wonderful that you appreciate the effort and care we take in making the game. The high ranking shows how fun to play it as well. Thank you so much for your kind words. Happy flicking! Paul

    Thanks for posting. A satisfying and largely shock-free conclusion to this extended walk through some fine games.
    These games may not involve brainstraining or deep computation but nor do they inflict rinky dinky player tableaux, efficiency engines, worker bloody placement, analysis paralysis or seeking the favour of the fecking king upon us, hurrah. No doubt, back to the sleugs next week.

    Nice list!
    I haven’t any dexterity games, even though I have a decent collection of board games. I have a 7yo so after seeing this list I can see that I’m missing a trick here …I’m gunna sawt it ahhht!

    A couple of interesting and unusual ones in here among the usual suspects. I was surprised to see Coconuts so high. My kid is too old now to have an excuse to get it though. Ach who am I kidding. It's going on my Christmas list :)
    I've wanted Pitch Car for ages but keep telling myself it's too much to pay for a dexterity game. I think though that the consistent strong recommendations have won me over. I'll have to pick that one up too.
    Some of the others really are a bit out of my price range but I'd love to try Crokinole and Klask one day.

    Comparing against the 2019 top 25 list, ones that have dropped out of the top 50 are:
    - Loopin’ Louie
    - Passe-Trappe
    - Cube Quest
    Games that would be on my list that aren’t here:
    - Crash Octopus (2021, Itten)
    - Ascending Empires (2011, Z-man)
    - Rampage / Terror in Meeple City (2013, Repos)
    - Subbuteo (1947)
    - Space Cadets (2012, Stronghold)
    - Torpedo Run (1986, Milton-Bradley - nostalgia factor)

      I’m guessing Rampage was accidentally omitted as it was mentioned in the (hilarious) top games by Antoine Bauza list.

    Anyway, along comes "walls of scydonia" which is easily the best catapulting dexterity game. Ever.

    Klask is ok but I found myself getting bored with it in a single night. It was one of the first games I bought when I discovered the board game hobby so you'd think I would've been all about it. I see high marks all over CZcams for Klask but I've noticed that those positive reviews tend to come from non-Americans so I'm wondering if my issue with Klask is due to growing up playing a lot of air-hockey in arcades and bowling alleys so I'm already bored with the concept in general. My sister and husband feel the same way too, after an evening of playing it we were all like "Yeah, it's like a tiny air-hockey." *shrug*
    I would LOVE to get my hands on crokinole and carooka boards though. I have a feeling getting a carooka board shipped to Arizona would be pricey and end up damaged in shipping though. I might have to wait for it to take off in popularity in the States.

    • @readilium3432
      @readilium3432 Před 2 lety +2

      A third party reship company charges about 130 to get carooka shipped the Colorado. The maker said in a few weeks he will offer shipping to the states, although the shipping won't be too much cheaper. And he is fully prepared to pack it properly. I had a pretty extensive conversation with the maker.

    Also, I’d challenge that some of these aren’t really dexterity games. If Yogi counts, then why not Bunny Bunny Moose Moose, or even Charades? And if Jungle Speed counts, then any speed game should count - like Ghost Blitz or Jab: Real-time Boxing, etc. But I wouldn’t have considered any of these to be “dexterity”.

    • @BoardGameBollocks
      @BoardGameBollocks  Před 2 lety +1

      Not sure I follow…Yogi involves precarious poses where as Bunny Bunny is making Rabbit ears and singing a poem.
      You don’t think grabbing a totem pole quickly requires dexterity?

    • @jeffreydunford9251
      @jeffreydunford9251 Před 2 lety +1

      @@BoardGameBollocks is Twister a (bad) dexterity game? Maybe my issue is that posing in Yogi, while perhaps requires dexterity, doesn’t make Yogi a dexterity board game if the dexterity element isn’t something done on a table top.
      As for grabbing a totem… it’s the same as grabbing any item quickly, or placing any item quickly (eg cards). Technically it requires dexterity - would be challenging if you have severe arthritis, for instance - but if opening it up to speed games, there are a lot of them… Is Jungle Speed the best speed game?
