How to Change the Alternator in a Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI on a Tahoe 234 - Part 863077T

- In this video, we are changing out the alternator on our 2007 Tahoe 234. The engine is a 5.7 liter Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI. We are using the OEM alternator, which is part number 863077T.
On our last trip to the lake, we noticed almost dead batteries for no apparent reason. I feel like the alternator has not been appropriately charging, which was evident by the voltage meter, observed while running, to be only 11 or 12 volts. We should have been getting at least 13.8 volts.
Tools Used:
1/2" short shaft socket wrench (3/8 drive)
10mm socket wrench (for electrical connections)
9/16" or 14mm open or box end (preferable box)
Torque wrench capable of measuring 30 ft./lbs. of torque and a 1/2 in. socket for the wrench
16mm box end wrench
8mm socket wrench

Glad it helped! Not sure what model your boat ot gauges are, but I have noticed this season that my voltage gauge on the dash can’t be trusted. It always reads about a volt low, compared to a voltmeter.

What’s the rectangular box right blow the alternator been looking on the parts catalog and I cannot figure out what it is! !
I have not rewatched the video. Is it the voltage regulator or is that a part of the alternator? I’ll watch video over the weekend and get back to you.
