When you close a door to a room, something ends up trapped. If you are in the room, you are the one that is trapped. Cory is in his room, so he keeps his door open as an easy escape if anything goes wrong. When you're outside of a room however, it is better to close the door because anything that may have been hiding in there won't be able to get out.

I've been to the morgue, the real one. The dead people there had their eyes half open, their stare and facial expression shocked me for live, especially when I saw my relative in the same way. Having this experience is adding to this game too much emotion and I can barely watch the gameplay even if I know it's virtual.

When I went to go see my dad, they had him in a separate room away from others who passed as well. Idk if that's normal, but they should keep them separate when families are coming to see their relative or etc. So sorry that you had to see that.
