Mr. Skerpentine I think it's the fact that someone is twisting a figure of our childhood, something that is supposed to be warm and comforting into something that is corrupted and horribly warped that makes it an effective way to shock players, since we would never expect that warm figure from our childhood to suddenly turn into a rampaging monster bent on your death.
Twisting Dervole That, Or Trends, or trying to hate on Mario and thus Mainstream Triple A games, sorta like how Indie movie directors tend to think Hollywood is dead and constantly have a pretentious air around them. Not all, but a good amount.
Silent Insanity Huh, didn't think about that. That makes sense now that I think about it. I think it could also maybe trying to re-imagine Mario into something that isn't overdone; don't get me wrong, I love his games and all, but you do have to admit the kind of diversity a person may want from a Mario game may be... lacking, at least with those that have serious themes and tones like Super Mario Galaxy with Rosalina's story. To my knowledge, there hasn't been something as deep and painful like her story since Galaxy first dropped on the Wii.

Maybe this game is like one of those dreams where you have to go to the bathroom so the whole dream becomes a quest to find a toilet to use.
And then you finally find the toilet in your dream, and wake up in a warm puddle.
Reminds me of a dream I had where there was a forest fire on this tiny forest and a guy peed on the trees to put it out.
I always thought that "Toilet in Wonderland" was the alternative title for "Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland".

I honestly found the presence of Mario hilarious from what I saw in this video. The weirdness of lots of Marios popping up and trying to kill you is just funny to me. Maybe it'd be more scary in the game, though.

I absolutely love this game for some weird reason, and I think a big part of that is like what was said in the video: not only is it completely and totally surreal, but it also has quite a wide emotional range despite that. Plus there are some really cute touches (like in certain places, if you dance some of the background characters will dance with you). Nice review as always!

I specifically remember that i messed something up while installing the game because for whatever reason, no music played during the 'mario has logged in' part at all. i dont know if that made it more or less scary.

I think this game has hidden meaning of childhood...when we used to fear god and all stuff as it was new to us....we used to fantasies that didn't made any sense and most of all the most difficult thing we used to do was to learn potty training or handle ourselves when we were constipated or sick

I love this channel, been doing a marathon of for the past few days. Even if the game Rad reviews sucks, the review itself is alot of fun. This how I felt when I first found out about Angry Joe back in the day when he reviewed bad games.

There's actually an enemy in .flow that makes the same thing as Mario does running at full speed from a random place. I think it's a "not that old" update but even .flow has this type of thing. That scared the s**t out of me

Instead of the usual Nitro Rad opening, it should have opened with the ending; Him grabbing the games and putting them in the toilet with the super glow effect-then the old intro, complete with the synthesized voice saying the game's title, too.

FUCK YEAH BABY, another RPGmaker game review. I wish you went more in-depth on this one those though, TIW has so much insane shit in it. It's also probably the single funniest game I have ever played.
Never in my entire life, did I ever think that ever, in any possible second that I may live, would I actually slightly jump in my seat at a jump scare from Mario of all things of this great, wide world, but here we are. Truly an amazing game.
I kinda have a theory that Toilet in Wonderland is a parody of pretenious indie rpg maker games.
The way the toiet's lid rattles a bit at 11:52 made me think it was actually part of the song for a second. Like, it somehow capped off the vocalising very nicely?? I expected a full-on beat drop from that, to be honest.

If anything, this is just like Alice in Wonderland in many ways.
For one, it makes little sense. Keeping in theme of the original book, it really doesn't make much sense and has little consistency to one event to another. The story is jumbled, the characters are messy, and the the world itself is absolutely crazy.
Second, no one actually knows what hell the story is about. Both seem to be made just for the purpose of being there to entertain so it's okay if you don't know what is what. Everything is happening because the imagination allowed to be.
Lastly, it can be enjoyed by many people and anyone can get something of of it. Now the final connector that I can put together is that the absolute randomness can be enjoy by a majority of people no matter who it is. That's the charm of randomness. When you don't know what could, is or did happen leads to inspire the imagination of the ones who experienced it in a way of curiosity and the will to create. Seeing something that you never thought of before can lead you to think of things you also never thought you could think of before.
So yeah, that's the best way I can interpret the game in the entirety it holds.
