Real v. Fake Honey - How can you tell the difference?

  • Natural, organic honey from your local beekeeper is incredibly healthy for you.
But is that what you're buying at the grocery store? Many "honey" producers add artificial sweeteners or corn syrup to make their profit margin a little bit bigger at your expense.
    Know the difference!
Condrell Honey is nothing but pure, natural honey straight from the bees to your table. Don't settle for anything less!

it doesn't expire, but if you open the jar with honey( i don't mean that you only open the lid, I mean that you open it because you want to eat it) after 2-3 months it will start to crystallize, in crystals sugar like, but it won't crystallize thought one night, it will be like one millimeter in month. But even after it crystallize you can eat it 100 years later.

Real honey prices vary according to the flower source and geographical location of honey.
Never believe in-home testing or traditional methods to test honey if it is real or fake.
These are outdated and failed methods. The reason is, the modern Chinese adulterants mixed with honey can pass all these tests and even FSSAI testing parameters.
So, check the local brand providing honey varieties and it should be NMR tested. NMR is an advanced test that ensures that honey is not adulterated with any kind of modern adulterants.

No, the FDA will tear you apart if you put lies on your ingredients and get reported. Could be millions of dollars in lawsuits. I think only 3rd world countries can get away with it. Also, tax evasion and false advertisement of ingredients are two different things. There are politics involved for tax evasion, but if you get sued for falsely advertising ingredients, people (as in individuals) can sue a company for that. By the way, calling someone names while not spelling correctly takes away any credibility you might have. Try to argue opinions / beliefs in a more sophisticated way and behave more politely. Thanks.

Raw honey which is directly squeezed from the bee hives are not supposed to be more thick!
It could also be as thin like water or oil, because the colour, taste and density of the raw honey is purely dependent on the type of flowers from which the honey bees get the nectar.
And, do also colour, taste, state and density of the raw honey changes on shelves due to it's reaction of pollen grains and bee's wax with the environmental moisture content.

I saw in another video that Florida has the best laws regarding honey labels. If a honey maker is located in, and selling in, Florida, they are required to put everything on the label. In other states that is not a law, apparently. Some honey producers add things like high fructose corn syrup. We consumers should insist this law be passed in other states.
Similar laws exist regarding olive oils. It pisses me off when producers of products get away with mislabeling their products.
      Buyer beware, I guess!

If you want a real benefit of honey, consume raw honey. That is the honey our prophets and ancestor consume and told us to do the same.
All branded honey you buy in supermarket are not raw no matter what the label says.
Raw honey are foamy, more watery, looks muddy, and contains gas. It doesn't look beautiful as commercial honey, also the gas from enzyme make it impossible to stored in bottle to be sell in the market. So they heat the honey to kill all the enzyme and make it thicker, ultrafilration to make the honey looks clear and beautiful. So they basically remove the powerful content of honey and it become sugar in the bottle.
All of this test are bullshit, i get my raw honey from my friend who harvest the honey directly in the jungle.
Forget about all those stupid myths telling you ants dont like honey, honey wont mix with water easily, out it in freezer etc. Raw honey are more watery, it will freeze, ants will eat it (ants dont like processed honey because its to thick for them), and it mix easily with water.
I think those test and myth are made by honey company to kill the local beekeeper who actually sell an original healthy raw honey

Runny honey can still be pure honey. Depends on the season or the type of bees. Summer season honey tends to be thicker between 17-19% moisture content while rainy season honey tends to be around 19-22% moisture. Buy from a local beekeeper to be sure.

    • @tatorkator9901

I agree that some honey is runnier than other honey. It depends on the type. Clover, buckwheat, tree necter, flowering trees, pine sap(bees do eat it in the beginning of the year). Temperature is also a big factor, hotter honey runs quick. Like the other commenter mentioned, humidity also plays a big factor.
