I thought it was a good interview and two major questions Bernie didn't want to entertain because CNN will spin it either way. CNN is big corp who's owned by Turner Broadcasting who is owned by Turner who's now owned by AT&T who basically controls the FCC. 21st century Fox and Disney owns Fox while Cox owns Cox Communications and Comcast owns the rest. Google essentially owns the entire digital platform, aka CZcams and is void from lobbyist control unlike the aforementioned.

It's a fact that many are finally waking up to.
The media is wholly owned by large corporations & super rich people, none of which are interested in upsetting the status quo. That's also a fact. They will do & say anything to keep everything humming along just as it has been for the last 40 years.
Bernie Sanders represents an existential threat to them (not really) but they believe that, so the threat is real.
They've had total control for so long and the ability to amass BILLIONS (not millions, but billions) they believe they will perish if they have to pay their share of taxes. They won't. They will only come back down to earth a little bit. It's not possible to wipe out a billionaire's fortune. It's not asking a lot of them to pay the taxes they owe to the country they live in. And if they were going to "move" as the fear mongers like to say--the legacy families of the US would have done that 60+years ago when the US tax rates were the highest, but they didn't.
It's time to end "Reaganomics" and move forward with something that makes sense for the people.
I make no bones about being an ardent Bernie supporter, for this reason:
I know he's genuine, I know his interest is in doing for the people, not himself (the haters like to put bs out there) He's not a phony, warm/fuzzy/platitudes kind of guy, which is why people have a hard time with him. Don't be fooled, if you look past that, you will see his actual concern/caring for others. It's real. Everything he has done politically from mayor till now, is to that end. You have to do that research yourself. Or just listen to the haters for the bs story.

Am I wrong or was there not effectively an income cap in this country in the Eisenhower Era? The top marginal tax rate was 90 percent on basically anything more than 2.5 million in today's dollars so sort of there was a cap. That's how I would have answered this question.

Cost should not matter generally given the fact that we're the richest country in the world and:
1) Every major country with much less wealth per capita can afford universal health care.
2) Many public colleges before the 1970s were tuition free and those that weren't had tuition that could be paid for through a part-time job.
3) A $15 minimum wage is working in many places throughout the country and has not had a negative impact on overall jobs (as if more minimum wage jobs are better than fewer better paying jobs).
4) If we can give the 0.1% a $1.5 trillion tax cut, why can't we forgive student loan debt which would initially cost the same but unlike tax cuts would actually generate significant economic growth.
Nothing in the agenda above is "radical." Most of it has either been talked about by many presidents and politicians for almost 100 years or actually existed at the time in our past when we were most successful as a country overall. There's nothing in his plan that FDR would not have wanted to do and that during a time of a global depression not of soaring stock market prices and corporate profits. As for being too ambitious, when Jake Tapper and his family can't afford to go to the doctor or to go to school without $50,000 in debt, then he can ask if this agenda is too ambitious. Until then, he should try educating himself about what life is actually like for a majority of the country.

I like Bernie and what he stands for and I'm a small time wage earner to whom this question does not apply. Yet, by the time the interviewer asked Bernie for the second or third time if he is now taking back his old opinion about putting a maximum wage cap, I got curious as to his answer and was disappointed that he did not give a direct answer of yes or no. I thought it was the Republicans' role to slip and slide around questions instead of giving a direct, honest answer of yes or no.
I am a 67 year old Vermonter and I've had health care several time for several years over the decades.Just too expensive. Now it is Medicare and current government is trying to cut that. Vote as if our lives depend on it. They do.
