Well, he does retain a certain courtliness of demeanor which seems almost quaint today. I like him better in interviews, where he can respond to challenges and display some flexibility, than in campaign mode, where inflexibility is exactly what is expected of him (and consequently, monotony).
His central point, that all too often the rich prey upon those less fortunate, is unoriginal, VALID, and agreed upon by many who are NOT 'socialists'. I wish that Mr. Sanders would search the Scriptures and see Whose ethics he is borrowing.
(James 5:1,5) 'Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries which are coming upon you.' 'You Have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.'
Then he should go still further, and embrace things like 'financial supports for girls in trouble, from conception to delivery'. More defensible than gun rights, Bernie! If Republicans do not agree, they will only be demonstrating their hypocrisy to the nth degree.

@Guy Government is not the enemy. Unless you want to go back 5000 years and live in some secluded closed off-world, never leaving your village, there will always be some form of government. In an ideal world, the government is a representation of all Americans. We vote in those who we think will best represent us. They are managers. There is no way to coordinate spending and benefits on a nationwide level without some sort of government. If you think our current government is bad and is not a healthy representation of the will of the people, that's a whole separate issue. Just like you hear the argument that "guns don't kill people, people kill people", you should also understand that governments aren't bad, it's the people running them.
Bernie is one of the first politicians I've seen in my lifetime who seems to genuinely have the best interest of all people in mind. His track record has been consistent throughout his entire recorded life. He's very good at telling people whose fault everything is, and getting them to HATE Bernie's enemies.
Bernie is notoriously incapable of compromise.
Bernie is notorious for writing shitty legislation - bloated and confusing bills that are so opaque no one in Congress will touch them.
None of the other progressives and lefties running have that problem.
Harris has done more in 2 years than Bernie has in 30.
Gillibrand in particular averages 40 time more legislation that become law each year than Bernie.
But Klobuchar, a moderate, blows all of them out of the water. She is incredibly good at building coalitions, writing sensible legislation that works, and ushering it through congress to the President's desk, where it is often signed.

Here’s something that everyone needs to understand. WE ARE ALL WORKING CLASS. Most of us are not millionaires, or billionaires. And never will be. That’s ok. What’s not ok is that if we are hurt and are uninsured (or even insured) we become debt slaves to the very same rich few who make healthcare impossibly expensive. Know this. We have the money in America for all of us to have Medicare. Easily. It’s just in the hands of the elite rich. I’m not talking about the millionaires up the street. I’m talking about the billionaires. The ones who you’ll never meet. And they’re hoarding all that money like fat old dragons. These are the same people who don’t give people living wages, and are the same people who are competing to put your small business out of business. We need to tax them.

dinos papa we can’t afford universal healthcare, and this isn’t only about that, it’s about socialism and no more private business, too much government control. The tearing down of the constitution. In Europe, do you get immediate health care or do you have to wait in line to be seen and then have the government decide what meds are available to you ? Does the government know your illnesses and can or do they use that to violate your freedoms in any way? The politicians in the US will, without doubt take your information and use your information against you. You’ll end up having to pay some new tax to get anything And then have no choice but to submit to facial recognition and “real ID” to buy anything.or get a job Ect This is already happening I can’t speak for Europe but the US government is corrupt as hell. The positions got rich off the working people and will take advantage in every way possible We do t vote for the best person for president We vote for the less of the evils

    • @dinospapa7413

@@ddstanfield9259 The problems of corruption you are describing are problems caused by large corporations and capitalism, and could be solved by partly by limiting the freedom of such corporations. You are afraid that a government will somehow use the knowledge of your medical records against you, but you cannot see that the multinationals that insure your health are more interested and can abuse and blackmail you whith such information even more. Anyway, when talking about public healthcare or education dont think of it as a big scary government burocracy keeping track of your every move (that shit is already done by the corporations). Think of it more like you dont get charged for calling an ambulance, or you dont get charged extra for the equipment the doctor uses to examine you, or for staying in the hospital if need be. You guys need to get rid of your superstitions about "the left". Right now i am doing my bsc in molecular biology for free, whereas whith the american system i would be doomed to a lifetime of minimum wage (or taking a 100.000$ loan, which could be way worse). Thus i can be a much more productive member of society when i graduate. Of course you can afford it. Do you think bombing people halfway across the planet like you usually do is a better way to spend your tax money?

dinos papa I would like to argue some things you talked about but as someone outside the US, I do t think I could get the point across to you, so on that I will just say that this government is scary and it isn’t the people making it bigger than it is This is the beginning of the end of our constitutional rights. And if that starts here Unchecked Your next. But most Americans would agree that our military shouldn’t be used as the worlds referee or parent scolding the other countries We do need to spend money beyond most countries Because of who we are and the enemies that we make acting as I stated before. Your healthcare sounds great on the surface but, once your only choice is government funded anything, that take more than their share from you and doctors will be paid less. The people who approve expensive treatments will deny them Medical staff will become inferior in time because the politicians, the states the counties Ect will all take pieces of the money and the citizen will be left paying through high taxes, way beyond what we can afford federal, state, county, sales tax, and probably some new healthcare tax This country can not handle power The people in those positions want the money and could not care less about the rest of us. I see your government being somewhat like a babysitter who wants the best for the people and will do what they can to be fair. When people are competing for your business. That's when they care about the customer that's when they provide good service and compete for your business.
Health care would get much worse. In many ways insurance companies have pushed this to fruition because many of them are owned by foreign corporations that wish to see the American economy bankrupted by single payer. Then they would happily also see stagnant health care system that doesn't care about its people just like Canada and the United Kingdom. Talk to people who have dealt with those systems

      FEEL THE BERN:
Coronvirus would break Medicare for all single payer systems :
Countries like Canada and the United Kingdom has struggled to handle outbreaks of everything from severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) to the seasonal flu.
That’s because these countries’ government-run, “Medicare-for-all”-style systems lack enough health care personnel, hospital beds and other resources to meet the needs of their populations even in good times.
During the first six months of 2019, nearly half of the Canadian province of Ontario’s hospitals were over 100 percent capacity, according to an analysis conducted by CBC News.
the CBC reported last month, “Overcrowding has become so common in Ontario hospitals that patient beds are now placed in hallways and conference rooms not only at times of peak demand, but routinely day after day.”
The report laid the blame squarely on Canada's "public health and emergency infrastructures," which "were in a sorry state of decay.” Another government report concurred, saying the Canadian health care system "lacked adequate resources, was professionally impoverished and was generally incapable of fulfilling its mandate."
One doctor in central England apologized for what he called “third-world conditions,” including 12-hour waits and patients being treated in corridors at his hospital. Another physician likened the scene in his London hospital to “battlefield medicine.”
Let’s bring this ‘great’ Medicare for all to America compliments of comrade Bernie Sanders!

And he's not even being as ruthless as he could be. The reason Iowa, NH and the rest of the primary is as close as it is is due to the fact that the liberal media is a propaganda machine for every other candidate in the race. They would rather literally anyone but Bernie because they know they will be handed the keys to 4-8 more years of status quo come Jan 2021. It says something about the elite democratic establishment when Fox News' Tucker Carlson gives Bernie a fairer shot than MSNBC. Carlson understands well the plight of Bernie because his guy, Trump, has been exposed to exactly the same attacks from the so called left-wing media. The DNC is the most corrupt organization in America and until we get ride of the cronyism within that party the likes of Bernie will always be in the ring fighting against multiple opponents. Never thought I'd say this, but I actually have more respect for the GOP these days. At least most people know where they're coming from: a party of rich, white people trying to preserve the wealth of rich, white people. Bernie ? Even if
      Bernie Sanders & Elizabeth Warren
bankrupts ALL the billionaires in the United States they still won't have enough money to pay for their fictitious nightmare of Medicare for all healthcare.
Either they both can't do math or they are liars..
Medicare for All costs $52 TRILLION over 10 years
Let's take Elizabeth Warren & Bernie Sanders plans ... They are promising $40 to $50 trillion in new spending over the next 10 years," said Brian Riedl, an economic policy expert and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.
"According to the Congressional Budget Office," continued Riedl. "In order to raise $30 trillion, you would need either a payroll tax of 33 percent on top of the current 15 percent payroll tax. You're looking at about a 48 percent total payroll tax."
"You would need a 78 percent national sales tax to fund a $30 trillion agenda."
"Are you saying that the government would take almost half of the income that your employer gives you? They would take that out even before you see that paycheck?" asked O'Grady
"That's correct. It would go from 15.3, which it is today, to nearly 50 percent for a payroll tax. That means ... nearly half of your paycheck would be taken out in the payroll tax. And of the remaining half, you're still paying the income tax. And when you go shopping, you're going to be paying sales tax. If there's a VAT tax, you're paying that. The cumulative effect of these taxes would be absolutely enormous,"
“You’re looking at the total economic collapse of the United States” “ we would become like Venezuela starving in the streets with no jobs very quickly all because inept politicians destroyed America with Medicare for all”
      said Riedl.
“You can’t get the proponents of these policies to talk openly about the taxes they require," he said, "because once the American people find out what they cost, once they find out that Medicare-for-all isn't a free lunch -- support is going to collapse."
