- Hi friends, I decided to have a little fun this week and do the "How much can I crochet in an hour" challenge.
I decided to try doing this with the Chonky Mushroom Boi's that i'm making for my upcoming market - How do you think I did?

loved this! if i were to attempt this, id try making the plushies in pieces (i.e. make a bunch of mushie hats before making the bodies) bc i saw a different crochet challenge vid where they did that and it worked pretty well.
I do this for market prep, I find it a lot faster
Yeah I think next time I’ll do a billion little limbs from my buddy patterns 😝
I do that. I make a bunch of hats, then decorate the hats with spots. Then when I am on the go, I can bring the hats and just the white yarn. I make the bodies up until the last two rows. Stop, place a stitch marker, leave 24 inches of yarn tail, cut and then put it aside.
Then when I get home, I can add eyes, yarn for cheeks, stuffing and then finish off the last two rows and close.
I swear it kills me when my yarn is somehow all different thickness across colors for the same yarn lol I’m market prepping right now, I would love to see what patterns you’d come up with!
I would love to see how you get such perfect stitches? Mine are long and slanted. I have tried holding my hook parallel with the piece. I have tried holding my hook at an angle making the first loop smaller than the second loop. I have tried pulling It tight which is killing my hands. Your stitches are so freaking perfect. What yarn do you use and how the heck do you get that perfect compact stitch?
Have you tried yarning under instead of over? It makes a tighter and better amigurumi stitch (X stitch). If you have, that's all I can think of, so just keep practicing!

I’d like to know if I’m the only one who struggles to ….a) follow a pattern (I find I often go rogue & freestyle towards the end) & B) make multiples of same pattern (it’s like once I know I CAN do a thing that’s it for me-no more fun in creating more of the same) This bothers me about myself so I’m just wondering if it’s just me & my weird ways. 😀
I definitely want to see how many you can make, just crocheting. No stuffing or sewing. (You can add eyes though, because that's sometimes hard to do after the crocheting is done)
Yeah I might return to this one next year and see how many limbs or something I can make for a piece

Out of curiosity, what is the weight and brand of your chenille yarn and what size needle were you using? I find that my plushies are huge and wanted to know if it's my tension or yarn or needle or ???
My favorite plushie right now is a mushroom pop. The stem of the mushroom can hide in the cap and be popped out to reveal the eyes, so cute and fun and doubles as a fidget 😅
