Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U - Master Core / Master Fortress 9.0 Difficulty Boss Fight

- Master Core / Master Fortress beaten on 9.0 difficulty in Super Smash Bros for Wii U. 9.0 Master Core can be fought when going though Classic Mode on the highest difficulty, without getting a game over.
The battle is separated in 6 segments:
Master Hand & Crazy Hand: You start off fighting against the hands, but unlike a normal battle against the hands you now only have to deal an "x" amount of damage to defeat them. Despite the sort fight, this can be real annoying at some times, but luckily I made it out fine with no damage. :)
Master Giant: The first form of Master Core which appears on difficulties 7.0 or higher I believe. There weren't too many mistakes here, with the exception of the Core's first attack, with I didn't block properly. I'm fine with it though.
Master Beast: Master Core's 2nd form (on high difficulties that is). This one can be quite unexpected due to its fast movements. (Mainly on 9.0 difficulty) -- I missed some attacks, and took some hits but I beat it relatively fast.
Master Swords: Master Core's 3th form, which is sometimes seen as MC's hardest phase by people. It has quick movements, but your shield should do really well here. (If you time it correct of course) -- I had a good beggining but messed up at the end and also got a dead here. It got pretty tense at the end.
Master Shadow: Master Core's 4th form. It's basically a copy of your fighter, except larger. It shrinks upon taking damage though. It can be defeated by either knocking it out or dealing an "x" amount of damage. This phase usually shouldn't give you too much trouble, but your 'duplicate' can be real annoying though, mainly when high damage. Thankfully nothing bad happened here. I took a few hits, but luckily they weren't charged attacks or some other kind of strong hits. Phew!
Master Fortress: Master Core's final form, which is only available to fight at difficulties 8.0 or higher. Master Fortess has four phases:
Phase 1: Relatively simple. Just make your way to the right and you'll find a weak spot. Plasma Wisps can easily be defeatedd be grabbing (and throwing). I did pretty well here with barely any damage taken. :)
Phase 2: A little more difficult, but I did a nice job here, with once again barely any damage taken. Keep an eye out for Danger Zones (that yellow-like stuff you'll encounter around the walls and on the ground) since hitting them will deal quite a bit of damage, and above 100% you'll be instantly KO'd.
Phase 3: Pretty much like Phase 1, though I tend to have a lot more problems here for some reason. Once you make it to the open section it gets a lot easier in my opinion.
Phase 4: Final phase and definitely the hardest with lots of Danger Zones and enemies. It's mostly about remembering and taking down enemies here. Things got really tense near the end.
Master Core's true form: Upon defeating Master Core (no matter what difficulty you're playing at) he'll finally reveal his true form. Take this Smash Ball thing down ASAP, because when waiting too long he's got a nasty surprise for you...( • Super Smash Bros 4 (Wi... )

I think one of the unique things about this boss fight is that it never shows you how much HP it has left. The feeling of the unknown really adds to the intensity.

The 3DS version has the same true final boss, but with a couple of differences:
- The damage meter for Master Core is covered by darkness until it reveals its true form.
- The Master Fortress segment of the fight isn't implemented into the 3DS version, even on 9.0 intensity.
I think they added Master Fortress to the Wii U in lieu of the Smash Run mode. The platforming style and mobs are kinda similar conceptually.

Yeah. If you've played both versions, you'll notice that most of the enemies in Master Fortress are literally just shadow versions of the enemies in Smash Run which is only in the 3DS version.
@@Gabo2oo all of the enemies seem to be completely ripped from smash run, the weird plant things from kid icarus uprising, the plasma wisps from kirby superstar, the skeleton knights from zelda, and the ceiling and wall crawlers from metroid

to fight Master Core then Master Fortress you need to set your difficulty in 9,0 without dying to get the final boss and you can fight him. WARNING! Master Fortress is more reckless!

Minimum difficulty to fight Master Core is 3.0 I think, but it’s nowhere near as crazy as this!
To clarify on what i said before, the amount of (and which) phases of the Master Core fight depends on what difficulty you set it to.
At 0-1.9 it’s obviously just Master Hand
At 2-2.9 Crazy hand is there too
At 3-3.9 I believe you only fight the Master Beast and/or the Master Blades, then the Master Shadow and then the Master Core itself
And so on, until you reach 9.0 and battle what Bowser did in this video

Master Core's true form
When I was young, I actually DIED to it, even when it was not using its "nasty trick" on me, i smashed it but it did not get defeated, and when it was coming back to the center, it hit me and i got lauched, then died. I was so pissed when that happened to me.
So who or what is this master core?

Silverwolf Pirates Thanks to no story mode (thanks Sakurai -.-) no one can really tell what Master Core's significance to the universe actually is. The only thing we can get close to figuring out what it is is if you look at the "Kid playing with their toys" theory. I'd go watch Connorthewaffle's theory on it l. He makes it easy to follow and is the most people can agree upon since again, there's no story mode unfortunately

the first time i beat them both i was just expecting the game to end and then i was like "wait a minute, thats not how they usually die and im like WTF IS GOING ON!!!"

Thing about master fortress is that it's literally a being made of that they're swarm darkness so we literally have to go through Master fortress's digestive system destroy those being hearts hearts and then get Master core to reveal its true form

In case you're wondering swarm is the name of the stuff of that bursts out of Master hand according to the 3DS version Master swarm is the name of this strange material and it takes her phone off the master giant the master Beast the master swords the master shadow and as I've clarified the master fortress I hope this gives you some enlightenment
Also when I say master swarm I'm referring to actual stuff that bursts of Master and creating the master fortress

Pulled off a 9.0 intensity on classic mode with Ike without using customizations shortly after seeing this. Ironic. Guess the reason I went looking for this was to be able to find the means to navigate without taking too much damage. If I could clear such a high intensity without customizations, it may be a sign that I've improved in Smash.
Something I'd add to your description (just me) is that Master Fortress is only available on the Wii U version. Great work, anyways! I can barely finish Shadow off on 9.0! (Then again, Little Mac isn't the best character to use). The Swarm enemies are a huge threat, it seems like.

Ness is the best character to use. You can use the PSI Magnet to Lifeup your health from the Plasma Wisps.

I finally beat 9.0 with Donkey Kong it was hard.
Tip: All you have to do is don't died, dodge and survive is the key by using heavyweight characters. Just be careful on final round it gets your heart race quick no matter how tough they are.
Oh my gosh it really _does_ get your heart racing as you are trying to finish off the fortress, and then suddenly take a bunch of damage and get thrown into the yellow walls! 😖
@@gentrydean3789 The acid! Is similarly to The Great Cave of Offensive! As long you don’t taken too much damage like 100% or higher! If you get hit by the acid as you’re at more than 100% you’ll instantly died!
Try Little Mac, he is way harder than you think, you have to keep doing his up smash close because i think it does more damage when close and countering once you fight your clone
@@Megastar_Tye I already try it but I died at First Phase because of Master Beast. Even his recovery is explicit but very difficult to make it back. Little Mac doesn’t have that much durability because he’s share the same weight as Shiek and Fox. Only I got better with Donkey Kong because he has plot armor in him.
@@derrickdavis3888 I feel the master beast is the hardest one out of all for him. Right before he spawns you should charge either neutral special or forward smash and should be able to hit master beast so you somewhat did decent damage at the start. All the rest isn’t hard

You can win with any character on 9.0 difficulty, it doesn't matter if you use wii fit trainer or lucario, the point here is predict all the moves of the bosses and then how to counter them with faster attacks.
Wanna know a CRAZY (hand) story :
Once upon a time there was a raging squelling kidiot playing ssb4. Why was he raging that's what we are figuring out today : he lost on 9.0 difficulty so he had to play through another 3 custom classic modes with annoying RNG based items that he couldn't turn off. Anyways after that!!! He made it to the hands. MH and CH put the first letters of those and you get MC (master core) take the first letter of first and replace the C with the F and you get MF (fortress) anyways back to what happened. He no hited the first 50% he was 1 hit away from moving on to core. Then master hand grabbed him used to gentle GO TO SLEEP BISH lullaby grab so he couldn't do anything about it then MH used platforms and scince he couldn't do anything he was stuck. They killed him and then he was 1 stock down. Then he got grabbed by CH and guess what kind of grab it was... the one where he gets stuck in the ground. And the platforms came out again and at this point he knew... he f**ked up and again. He couldn't do anything and died... oh and there was also the lipstick flowers that drains your HP. Plz like I worked hard on this and get the anouncer to say this and make s video on it that would be great to hear what it would sound like if the smash anouncer said this.

Still not over the first time I defeated master Core- it was only a few years ago and I was screwing around in the 3DS version and decided to tackle Classic Mode. Thing is...I played Ultimate so often at that point that I thought the boss changing difficulty spike would be at 7.0...it was not. I put the difficulty at like 6.0 I think? I realized what had happened and had to pause the game and close the 3DS while I processed what I got myself into.
I somehow won the fight...and then my 3DS turned itself off due to an issue that I've since (hopefully) fixed. Thank the stars for autosaving.
Master Fortress is basically Vore

no i am fairly certain you have to be on a difficulty of 5.5 or higher to encounter master core, and the difficulty goes down if you fail, meaning that 9.0 (master fortress appears) you only have ONE try

To fight Master Fortress you have have make it the master fight on at least 8.0 or higher
By far the best classic mode due to that Nightmare Fuel boss and the difficulty requirements to even encounter it
I really like a lot this battle in Smash Bros 4. I know the game isn't that good but, I don't care. This game is fun as hell and the boss is my favorite thing.
I liked Bowser's side smash from Brawl better. He uses his claw to deliver a powerful blow instead of that sliding move.
I would say, lucario is the best character for this boss, his aura ability helps, science it make lucario stronger Every time he takes damage, and his down b is also pretty good, I used a custom down b

This fight was definitely part of some kind of story mode being developed for Smash 4. But after scrapping the idea they reduced it to a Classic Mode battle. Sigh.. so sad.
And then COMPLETELY GOT RID OF THIS FIGHT IN ULTIMATE WITH GALEEM AND DHARKON.
I've always wanted to beat master hand and crazy hand at level 9 but it was too hard for me and master core was even harder so the next time I play super smash bros for the wii u, I will try to practice to beat a level 9 character so I can beat Master Hand and Crazy Hand, and especially Master Core.

Something in the Fortress part i always seem to notice is that the Swarms of Stalfos, Lethinium, and Geemers all have their original eye color, thouvh Plasma Wisp doesn't
I also beat this as bowser, though I used a custom set to allow me critical hits, but still, yeah, I think bowser is pretty good for this fight.

For any of you having trouble finding master core: make sure you go up against master and crazy hand. kill master hand first. that should turn crazy hand into master core. Hope This helped!
