What’s up everyone! We are back with another Marvel Cinematic Universe reaction, this time it’s the Black Panther reaction. Getting into Wakanda was such a fun time, the technology was such a cool thing to get into. The story of Black Panther was an important one. The topics touched on were very relevant if you’re telling a story about a fictional place in Africa which was not only touched by colonization, but gifted with the greatest element in the universe. T’Challa and Nakia’s relationship was both cute and powerful. Also, Okoye is need of a new husband. ASAP! During the reaction, I couldn’t help but to notice the amazing lighting in those ritual combat scenes. I’m sure the crew worked hard to light the scene as they film and the editors worked overtime in post production. It paid off. Black Panther was an incredible movie and T’Challa an equally strong lead. Thank you all so much for watching my Black Panther reaction and listening to my commentary and I’ll see you all next time! Take care everyone!

Okoye saying “when she wants to” is one of my favorite lines. I loved her character so much. Her strength, love and confliction. Danai Gurira is such a great actress.

The scene with little killmonger and his father hit me soooo hard as an African American when he said “they’ll say you are lost” and “I fear you may not be welcome” I’m proud of the culture we built here but it sucks not knowing where my ancestors were stolen from

    • @Msmykimoto2U

And it hurts because sometimes we get mistreated for not knowing about our ancestral home like it's our fault

The Black Panther has been one of my FAVORITE Marvel superheroes since I a little kid. The character was created in 1963 and I became aware of him in 1976. The was the first black superhero who didn't have a stereotypical look, speech, or origin story. He was the king of the greatest nation on the earth.
By the way, those Africans didn't jump from the ship to maintain their dignity. They jumped because the refused to be livestock. This happened on a number of ships.

Marvel changed the opening sequence to just Chadwick after his passing. Part of what they did to honor him.

I do feel sorry for the VFX team on this movie. The final showdown between Black Panther and Killmonger got slaughtered by the critics, with some comparing it to a PS2 cutscene, but the VFX team only had around 2 weeks to get that entire scene done, so it's amazing that it turned out as well as it did.

Now you need to see Wakanda Forever. As soon as I saw the ending of this one, I had no doubt that making themselves known to the rest of the world and sharing their resources would lead to problems. Keeping their secret kept Wakanda safe. There were other ways they could help the world without making their resources known.

To this day, Killmonger is one of the best MCU villains. It’s because he makes absolute sense.
He actually has a point about Wakanda’s inaction, and T’Challa comes to agree with him in part. Killmonger’s life was filled with violence from a young age, so he sees the solution through a lens of violence. T’Challa has enjoyed a life of peace and privilege, so he sees the solution through the lens of non-violence.
It is fantastic writing, and I still love it.

Chadwick Boseman was diagnosed with cancer in 2016. This came out the next year. (2017/8 was the best year for Marvel movies, imo.) And to think that he did all this physical stuff while recoverying makes me think he was superhuman. Cancer is such a horrible and unpredictable disease.
If you think this one is heavy because of his death, wait until you see the second one which had to be entirely rewritten because he thought he was going to be able to film it. It's great, but you need all the tissues.

When you get someone like Michael B Jordan, you kinda have to root for him, hahaha. 100% Killmonger's end methods were so wrong. T'Challa had to win.

    • @wackyvorlon
      @wackyvorlon Před 26 dny +1

That’s what I love so much about the character. When it comes to Wakanda’s inaction making them partially culpable for what’s happened, he’s right. It is a rare thing in these movies to have the hero agree that the villain has a point.

I love this movie. Everyone was so good in their roles. The 007 style part in S. Korea. The action in Wakanda. The bonding as Killmonger was dying. Unrelated thought, I really wish Angela Bassett played Storm. Storm never really got the proper respect in the X-men movies.

"He got to go!!!" LMAO!!!!! THANKS for this!
The film that popularized the term "colonizer!" LOL!!!!! What did the great writer Ta-Nehisi Coates call it: "Black people's 'Star Wars?'" :) Ah, what great times were had in the theater back then. I teared up at multiple viewings....
(When I spoke about this film [feel free to CZcams "Todd Steven Burroughs" and "Black Panther"], I argued that if Black people created and owned this character and this film universe, T'Challa and Killmonger--The Hate That Hate Produced--would have found a common-sense middle ground in creating a Pan-African state. But alas, that was not in the MCU's plan...That's *way too much* to ask for from Disney :) )
Enjoyed how you figured out so much of it!!! Yes, "WHAT ARE THOSE??" is *so* 2018 :), isn't it?
And Winston "sounds Jamaican" because he's from T+T, Bay-bee!!! :)
(And you gotta see Chadwick in the film "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom," his last role. Trust me.)
See you at your next MCU viewing!!! Make Mine Marvel--and make it soon, please!!!! Time to wrap up the epic....

I don't think there would be a way to give knowledge/technology and not weaponry. They're so tied together at this point. Think about how relatively recent human beings were able to send a man into space, and just how much that opened up scientifically. Then keep in mind that yesterday, SpaceX took up satellites so that the US can better track targets around the world. The idea of an outreach center is a better play because you can take an active role in helping the world but making sure things come through you first.

Naive people always want to see bad people be good. Some evil is deep imbedded it feeds on hatered and anger. Happiness and peace are signs of weakness and vulnerability. And some people would rather see the world burn than live another day.
