    i just had one of these (the single version) delivered today, and the instructions / diagrams were not the greatest. If I didn't find this vid I would have had to call a pro to install it. Thanks for saving me $200 bucks.

    AN AWESOME & WELL DETAILED VIDEO ....Downunder Australia & NZ a Brand called Kaboodle needs to take note how to make REAL Videos (perhaps even increase their sale) instead of the very Basic uncompleted CRAP

    Those wires don’t look like they are rated for that 40A circuit. Great video but folks be cautious because some appliance repair people that Home Depot will send WILL NOT know anything about electrical and will hook your oven up to whatever existing wire is there. For reference when purchasing a new oven check the Kw on the unit before purchasing for example 9600 kw on a 240V system is 9600/240= 40 amps. If your previous oven was on a 30 amp breaker with 10AWG wire you’re asking for trouble.

      Good tip! We always recommend checking current systems before making big purchases. When installed incorrectly it can also damage the appliance long term because it is getting too much or too little power, which ends up costing the homeowner more money in the long run.

    Is it OK not to attach the third white ground wire if my it has only 3 wire?
    I am getting an error code "F9E0 miswiring" in my 3 year old Whirlpool double wall oven

      only if it's a "grandfathered" wiring, but it's recommended to get 8/3 with ground wire. the reason you want to do that is that if there were a hot wire in the oven circuitry shorted to the frame of the unit, the full voltage could be transferred through a consumer or repair technician. if you have a ground wire, it goes back through the circuit ground and trips the breaker because it's an over-voltage.

    I didn't think you could do 3-wire any longer?

    • @tier3rd375
      @tier3rd375 Před rokem

      Not in new homes. Some older homes still use 3-wire setups. In new homes, electrical code requires it to have a 4-wire setup.

    Funny ovens are allowed to use the neutral as the ground

    • @tier3rd375
      @tier3rd375 Před rokem +1

      That's only if this were installed in an older home that doesn't have a ground wire. Even dryers use the neutral as ground with a 3-prong electrical cord. In new homes, it's mandatory to include a ground wire so you will not need to use neutral as ground.
