Well I decided to follow the saying of staying committed to my ideas and I finally started my first real project car at age 16. I decided to make a Civic into a pickup truck, I’m going to be custom fabricating the entire cab and bed plus doing engine and body repair to make the car look mint. I have had the idea around for a while but since the committed crew came around every time I thought of the project and finally last week I caved and got started. Really thankful for having that positive influence and hope to keep enjoying it in the future!

Maybe misadjusted shift linkage? When the new motor mounts were installed maybe it moved enough to need adjustment. It almost sound like the synchro is half engaging because the linkage doesn’t push it all the way until the car moves enough to pop all the way into gear.

Get an AGM battery if you don't have one. I didn't realize your battery was inside the cabin. Non-AGM batteries release gasses that can kill you. In 2016, a woman and her child were killed because someone replaced the battery, which is kept in the cabin of her Porche Cayenne, with a wet cell battery. AGM batteries are also typically stronger in colder climate. Northstar is the best, but if you want to save a little money, Deka is made in the same build house, and are very similar, apart from use of virgin lead. XS Power and XStatic are also good alternatives.

Solid engine mounts put MUCH more strain on the transmission because more vibrations are transferred to it.

Check the speed sensor in the transmission. On my civic it was cracked and it wouldn’t shift untill I replaced it.

Robbie maybe you should try to make a system for the hatch that works like your handbrake. Push a Button or pull a pin that releases the hatch and for closing it up you could just push it in and it loks itself. idk if this is a good idea but maybe you could try it

What if you used like a metal clamp on the wing ? Like some people use on hoods ? I think it would be way faster and more convenient
