Why HAAS' F1 CARS were IMPOUNDED?

- Haas' F1 cars and equipment have been impounded at the Zandvoort track after the Dutch GP. It’s all to do with a past Haas F1 team sponsor who was owed millions by the team. Prior to the 2024 Dutch GP Dutch courts demanded the F1 team pay 2021 team sponsor Uralkali before the team could leave the country with their race cars and equipment.
Also in the video I examine Logan Sargeant’s big crash and discuss images from F1 photographers @Alex.martellotta @jirikrenek74 and @christophholland plus I’ll take you behind the scenes of what went on after Lando’s race win.
UPDATE: At noon Monday Aug 26 the 4 trucks were still in the Zandvoort paddock.

Your race week coverage is unlike any other. The detail captured in the shots of the crash, so cool!! And poor Alexander, he really attracts the cars to his lens unlike no other photographer

Haas’s trackside operations manager has just repeated that the seizure is over and the Haas trucks will be on the road shortly.
Won’t matter much anyway cause these are mainly the cars which they don’t touch till Thursday. Rest of the setup stuff/garage has alreadly left which is the key stuff.
And the money is now financing the activities Putin has.
Ok so its done now?
Having found out why Haas had their cars impounded, I have to say that I'm with Uralkali on this. But it doesn't bode well for Haas if they can't repay the debt, which they do have. These are the struggles of the lower order teams, sadly
@@timmellor2599 Uralkali is doing what any other company in the same situation would do. I'm not even russian and all this cancelling russian athletes just annoys the hell out of me
If Haas has to give them back a 2021 car, it would be fitting to send them any of the ones Maaz wrecked during the season.

Mazepin didn’t make it past the first corner of his first race. The car was repaired. It wasn’t split in two.

TOP TIP: If you want the best crash shots, stand next to Alessandro Materlotta, he is a magnet for F1 crashes. But pack a spare pair of underpants as you need to change them afterwards

That was a rookie mistake from Sargaent - but honestly, he had a very good race going from P20 to P16 beating Tsunoda, Bottas, Zhou and KMag, with barely any practice at the circuit. But still, I'd really love to see Schumacher given another chance.

They have 5 sets of garage kit and their Monza garage is already set up,..Cars will be there in a day and a half so all good.
Not really. There’s been bailiffs present to oversee it. Sure other less valuable equipment re the garage can leave, but the valuable stuff stays

Great coverage again and some superb crash action photos, been close once myself at Silverstone got a reasonable photo grass, dirt and a few bits of car flying about however not as dramatic as the photos you have this week.
Great video and pictures. Excellent idea showing other photographers work and mentioning other personalities. If the RB man is a CZcamsr I hope he gets more followers. Cheers

Great information on the subject of Haas, not read that anywhere else. Great pictures from your friends of the crash and to be honest if Logan is being replaced there is only one person to blame. I don’t feel sorry for him, he bought it on himself and not just at Zandvoort. Any idea of their travel and setup times once they arrive in Italy Kim?. Those hospitality buildings most take a while to construct.

Logan, who I’ve been a supporter of, always wrecks in the wet weather. His mistake shows that he doesn’t spend enough time in the simulator.
@@therealBocaStudios Blaming his crashes as not enough simulator time is being extremely kind to him... Driving in the wet is when natural talent is the most needed. That's why time after time, you see guys with more talent than their cars are able to let them show really shine when it gets wet. That's not something you pick up with a bit more SIM time. It's also why old school fans, knowledgeable pundits and the extraordinary talented drives relish the rain races.
He is possibly also over driving the car or rather driving beyond his own limits and/or he has lost whatever confidence he had after his sacking. I feel for the guy, he seems like a decent guy, but it all comes from one thing. He simply hasn't been fast enough.
I hope he can resurrect his career somewhere else. Plenty of drivers who didn't shine in F1 have made good racers in other series.

I feel bad for Logan, he hasn’t had a good run in F1 (to be fair it’s been tough with Williams) ever since he almost got the F2 crown, he’s obviously got talent, just didn’t do it in F1. If they do get a loan driver, I hope it’s Liam. If they go with Mick, Williams will be facing repair bills again so might as well keep Logan!!
Stoffel van Dorne is another Mercedes reserve option.
Sorry, when did Logan "almost get the F2 crown"...? He raced three years in F3 (19th, 3rd, 7th) and placed 4th with ~120 points to the winner in his second year in F2.
Yes, he of course has talent, just not as much as most of the ones around him. It's honestly not like he is a serial winner in any of the junior series that matter. Still, he seems like a decent guy and I am sure it hurts. But hey, Indycar to the rescue.

I recall a few years ago race teams could not take their "large" sized trucks through Switzerland, so the drive to Monza from Zandvoort will take quite a bit longer.
Straight down to Lyon through Mont Blanc towards Milan !
F1 says Andretti won’t add to the value of the sport and yet they allow this lot to make a fool of themselves every week.
Do you even watch the sport or know anything about what is happening on track? Haas has 3 teams lower than it based on constructors championship at this moment. They are near the points just about every race, Haas F1 isn't a complete joke of a team that they were a few years ago. Even then to be fair that was mostly Covid related, they developed a car for the new seasons regulations and the FIA came around and decided to do 1 more season with the old spec, which Haas had stopped developing in order to focus on the new regulations. There was literally nothing good to do, a cash strapped team isn't going to light millions of dollars on fire to develop an old car, so they ran the season with an old spec and it showed.
Don't despair whiner, at the rate your boy is running up credit, his assets will also be attached.

The idea that Williams keeps their car covered, so other teams can't steal the "secrets" of their amazing vehicle is pretty funny

Adrian Newey admitted he got inspiration for an update a few years back from Williams. I can't remember specifically what it was

Haas were probably lucky they got to leave on monday, because that route to Monza was actually closed the entire weekend (Fri-Sun in fact) due to road works.
So instead they would have to take a long and slow detour on Sunday, and would have a smooth drive on Monday.

This is very common in the industrial shipping industry. It is not uncommon for vessels to be impounded until bill are paid.
The weather was not that bad. This is North West Europe. Wind is allways present at Zandvoort.
Pay the money into a US bank that has Uralkali on sanction list. Money is paid but seized due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine ....
That's not how debt disputes work, and Uralkali already said there were no sanctions issues mitigating Haas' ability to pay - they obviously wouldn't have been silly enough to pursue the money if the chances of recovery were slim

Or just pay the money you owe. They were paid millions for sponsorship and hass didn't put it on the car . Their choice to break contracts. So just pay the money back .this makes hass look terrible. Worst advertising for a brand ever

That’s not how it works. These things are always hashed out in court beforehand. In this case it was in Switzerland where they aren’t stupid & deal with money from every corner of the world under their sovereignty. Haas are just cheap & need to put the money. Probably kept it to make millions in interest by delaying payment.

If Lawson gets a drive in the Haas, gets it through to Q3 and earns points in the race, VCARB should kick Daniel out for the rest of the season.

Don't be surprised if this so call stamp of compensation paid approval is delayed long enough for Hass to not make it in time to complete at Italian GP which would be embarrassing to both the team and the FIA.
So much for the addition of another team (Andretti) wouldn't bring valve to F1.
Will be interesting to see how F1 settles this quietly from public knowledge.
