Okay so heres the thing… You mentioned The Cabbage Patch issue & him stealing the idea and making money with it was a crime…. BUT the person/company in China who bought a Levi sculpt so they could copy it to make money did the same thing?
Unsure how that is not the exacts same thing?
I don’t even own dolls any more so I have no personal skin in this game.

I should have been more clear. Thank you for pointing this out. Martha Nelson Thomas created soft sculpture dolls by hand, each one had the same look but each doll was one of a kind. Her babies became popular in her home town so she started adopting them out at craft fairs and flea markets. Xavier Roberts saw her at a flea market and asked her if she wanted to sell her design to him. She declined the offer. He said, "Then I'll just take your idea and make them myself." He replicated her original work and that's how the Cabbage Patch Kids were born. No one knew who Martha Thomas was. LIFE even had a photo of one of her factory produced dolls in their magazine and called it a CPK rip off. Every reborn kit sculptor is known. It doesn't matter that China is stealing their work because people know who the original sculptors are. It's not like China is getting rich off of art and no one knows about it or about the original artists. Everyone knows China is stealing certain sculpts. But everyone also knows who they have stolen the sculpts from. There is no injustice here. These women have their name and reputation on a pretty massive scale. Martha had nothing but the love for her doll babies. She didn't care about making money off her dolls and she didn't care about being famous. The only thing that mattered to her were those doll babies she created and continued to create up until her death. Food for deep thought.

As a practicing Christian, I was gobsmacked at the amount of stupid nonsense that was spewing from that woman's mouth! You certainly have a lot more patience than I do because I don't waste my time arguing with that type of stupid! 😂
Unfortunately it doesn't matter how simply it has been broken down to demonstrate to the Doll Police that what they are doing is bullying, they are simply too arrogant, or ignorant to accept it. Let's call it for what it is - bullying and shaming disguised as education, all whilst petting the egos of certain sculptors who are too lazy to protect their so called special art. If the art is so special, why do they continue manufacturing their work in China, even after its been stolen many times! The Math is not mathing! Crickets 😂
The reality is all products are copied in China and it happens even faster when individuals choose to manufacture their products in China and they don't protect their work properly with the appropriate intellectual property rights and contracts.
Imagine bullying a family member or co-worker because they choose to buy the knock-off brands for food, handbags, shoes, perfume, furniture etc. Talk about first world problems!!! Manufacturing kits are no different - in the eyes of the law it's a product on the market, like any other product, available to consumers. Sculptors need to learn that they are not above the law when they choose to manufacture their art.
And it constantly amazes me how uneducated these people are in regards to how Intellectual Property and contract management works. In a nutshell, nobody forced the sculptors to relocate the manufacturing of their kits from Germany to China. They did it to make a quick buck and many have openly admitted that they have NEVER registered their intellectual property in China, nor have they put contracts in place with their factory to claim the rightful ownership of the final product produced. So now they are reaping what they have sowed and are facing the harsh consequences for those foolish decisions.
Those of us who have been collecting dolls for many, many decades can clearly recall the same issue happening when the porcelain doll industry went belly up back in the late 90's for the same thing! And the sculptors didn't stop sculpting, they just moved onto the next thing which happened to be vinyl baby dolls and BJD's.
On a final note, it annoys me when these uneducated people keep referring to these replica dolls as "stolen". In regards to the law, products are not considered "stolen", if an individual has failed to protect their work properly.

I said on my video just tonight that this whole matter is a legal matter and needs to be resolved legally in the proper format, not at consumers who are not doing anything illegal otherwise they would be in court themselves... its an ethical issues legally not a moral issue. Hello Caylee. I am an outsider that doesn't know the first thing about newborn dolls but your video showed up on my suggested videos so I had to look. I'm glad I did! I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment that if someone has to pronounce what a Christian they are then something is off because Christians will show it in their actions, not shouting it from the rooftops.
I don't know a thing about her but in the video she comes off as contentious, condescending, and demeaning to others. The privilege of some people… I just can’t. Have some compassion for those who are struggling financially and yet need these dolls. Jesus cares more about the real life children being murdered and starved to death in Palestine than poor people buying knock off dolls instead of $500+ authentic sculpts. Till they have a disability and live on a very limited income…then they have no room to judge. Try living in our shoes for a moment.

She and her ilk thought they had a corner on the doll hobby and they’re mad that people who don’t meet their standards are not only collecting dolls, but have the nerve to share them as well. These dolly police trolls are the epitome of gaslighters. They started the drama by attacking people who buy replicas, and then proceeded to blame their victims when they got some pushback. There have been plenty of videos spewing this same vomitous garbage, so if she hasn’t seen them it’s because her head is shoved too far up where the sun don’t shine. I hate it when people wield Christianity as a weapon against everyone and everything they don’t agree with. Christians don’t judge and strut around with holier than thou attitudes, smugly condemning what other people do. Most people who buy replicas are no threat to the authentic doll market because they probably wouldn’t be buying them in the first place, so they’re not really part of the equation. People who buy authentic sculpts will continue to do so. They’re not going to suddenly ditch their dearly beloved artists and start buying replicas. There may be some overlap, but for the most part, these are two different types of collectors. I will say, though, that bringing the devil into the dolly debate is an angle I hadn’t heard before, so I have to give her credit for offering a new take, even if it’s totally illogical and beyond delusional. There is a lot on her video I don’t understand. Yes anything that’s counterfeit or replicated is the same, whether it be dolls. Medicine, shoes, clothes, food ect. Doesn’t matter if it’s a single person or a multimillion company. How can she say it’s not the same because they have more money, doesn’t make sense. Also, I’m pretty sure god doesn’t hate those of us who own replicas and for those who buy them, they aren’t intentionally hurting anyone. The average price for RENTING an apartment (in my state) is over a THOUSAND dollars… it's not realistic to spend 400-1,000+ on a SINGULAR DOLL. 💆🏽♀️

I have one reborn doll, I am very low fixed income. I barely feed myself and have a roof over my head. When my dad passed away I splurged on the doll for me for therapy. I would like a silicone doll but that is out of the question unless I purchase one from Temu or other places. I found the $40 doll my granddaughter wanted from Walmart at a thrift store for a $1 and found it is a beringer doll by JC toys. I had so much fun making her clothes. The fact that she doesn't consider the other dolls as dolls is ludicrous nothing but art dolls exist. I have porcelian, brats, cabbage patch, I even have a Bilow baby I found at a thrit store Those were the first sculpted "art" dolls.

Well said We are Caylee! I actually do prefer some of the replicas I have over authentics Ive had. She "chooses" to "share" her art with others?? No, you "share" your art FOR BIG PROFIT!! and thats why these artists are so worried, when the truth is if people want your particular work they will continue to buy from you. This thing about the doll shows, (arent they to make sales?) and not allowing someone to attend who has a replica, but attends the show to possibly buy one of your dolls is about control, and cutting their nose off to spite their face cos you could have made sales lol! Crufts dog show is considered the top show in the world, imagine if they stopped people attending that only had a mongrel at home rather than a purebred! Crazy!!! I also think these "authentic" artists are trying to scaremonger us with these tales of toxicity in the replicas with no proof, AND continueing to make these videos to get traffic to their channels which they also make money from! She keeps threatening to stop making/selling her dolls, fine, your choice. You are so right about the bible saying not to judge and being loving, Almighty God created us with free will so who are you to dictate to us when He doesnt? And by the way, many of the dolls from China ARE beautiful and a lot of the silicones arent copies. That’s not really nice. I believe she said she’s on disability and needed the doll’s for therapy. So asking if she even works or just sits around on her computer is just mean. You can’t really save money if you don’t have it and some people just don’t. I understand you thinking of the sculptors and that’s good, but let’s think about the people who don’t have money but need these dolls for therapy too. Have some compassion… Jesus would.

I wasn’t going to respond to this, because my mama always told me if I can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all, but I’m going to. What difference does it make how someone gets their money? In today’s world the economy SUCKS. Inflation has made it nearly impossible for regular people to even have a hobby much less be able to save for something. Most people are paying their bills and then struggling to buy food to make ends meet for the rest of the month. Of course the elites and millionaire’s can go out and afford to still have fun these days, but 95% of the population CAN NOT. Listen Linda, this isn’t the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s or80’s…… the world isn’t the same anymore where the Harding working person could save for a couple months and buy something expensive. Today they are struggling to feed their families, themselves or keep a place to live. Boils my blood that someone can even ask what another does for a living and then to insinuate they sit on their butt and yes I know that’s what you were going to say, is just as disgusting as the person acting holier than thou in the video she’s reacting too. I’m almost certain if people could afford authentic dolls they would buy them ten fold, but the bottom line is they can’t , so they go for the option they can afford, so they can be a part of something that makes them happy. Ok I’m done, I need to stop. 😂

I find this personally offensive both what let's play dolls said and your observations on why someone says they are a Christian. I personally am a Christian and i do let people know for the following reason.. It let's people know how I try to live my life and if that offends them scroll on. I find the replica debate absurd as it's DOLLS only dolls. I'm not going to judge someone over a doll or any other thing that is this ridiculous. However we are told to practice discernment and conduct our lives accordingly. Using judgement in ones dealing with life is not wrong. Good solid judgement takes one quite far.. However that isn't bullying, being rude or harassing someone else.

I only paint and sell authentic dolls because that's what u choose to do. I however won't sit by and let people be bullied by the doll police. That's wrong and doesn't recognize that some people can only afford what they can afford and should be able to enjoy what they like.
As a Christian i am so personally tired of people making fun of us as a group and acting like some of us having certain morals and guidelines is laughable. Respect should be given to others..I choose to follow Christ and live as God wants me to and it's not laughable.
