    Henry, just as so many commented on your enthusiasm for this beautiful seascape, I was so impressed, too, with your willingness to share it with us. Your appreciation for God's creation is inspiring! Then seeing the rainbow, I felt so strongly the Lord of Creation, God Himself, was blessing you that day, reminding us all of His first covenant with Noah to never judge the world with a flood again. Seeing the "s" shape leading to the sun, so perfect, was for me a clear sign of the Lord leading you to think, if you would be open, to wanting you to see His Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us sinners, if we would agree we need forgiveness and receive His sacrifice for our sins through His shed blood. For without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. I pray that You will want to know the Creator who has revealed to you in a very special way the beauty of His creation, so you would be curious to know HIM! God bless you, Henry. I hope to see you at the Rapture, 1 Thessalonians 4, when those who trust in Jesus, will escape the coming judgment we all sense is coming upon us in these last days.

    Similar to europlatus. I'm a Canadian now living in Oz. The Canada toque strikes a chord with me. More importantly, the technique of starting with the background then finding foreground elements that work is a very practical tip. Thanks Henry, and never lose your enthusiasm - it's contagious.

    I watch lots of videos but I learnt exactly what I have been needing with my sunsets in this one. I had no idea about bracketing to compensate for the high dynamic range, thank you so much. And the composition hints, well I take lots of sunsets from home and the foreground isn't great and I always focus on the mountains in the background. I feel maybe I wasn't doing it so wrong after all. I do have a dirt track that curves away if I'm shooting to the north and that always works well, but west its a bit average and I don't mind it gets darkened out too much. Thanks so much Henry, will be trying the bracketing with bells on.

    I love how we name our vehicles. Mine is the White Tardis. A Nissan NV200 mini-cargo van. Love it. Great video. Great points on coming at the composition from the other direction. Building the photo. I spent today photographing the several inches of snow and still snowing in our two stoplight town in South Texas. Kind of felt right to me though. Raised in snow country (a long time ago) and four years in Alaska (why wasn't I photographing then). I was running f8 and for long street shots mentally repeating, "Focus one third of the way in." LOL.

    Yes, these are the moments that are the icing on the cake. Beautiful photos! When the rainbow appeared I would have been stressing to take a photo as soon as possible, very nice how you managed to make the rainbow pop in your photo without a polarizer filter. When I go out for a sunset, I see people leave as soon as the sun has gone down, which is when the most beautiful colours appear.
    Great video and thanks for the useful tips on composition!

    Best tip I've heard in friggin ages to be fair! It really makes sense as you tend to have one focal point in the background in a location... and you just need to find the foreground that works... Tip top... can't wait to get out and give it a go!

  • @kenhenley7599
    @kenhenley7599 Před 3 lety

    Some seriously beautiful images to be sure. I actually think your advice is more natural than looking at the foreground first. After all, we don't walk around with our heads pointing down all the time do we! Now for what you (and others) might think is a daft question. Have you ever thought of using an umbrella when photographing in the rain? I have seen it done and whilst it looks a bit odd it does work provided the wind's not too strong of course! And yes, your passion and enthusiasm shows no bounds...thankfully.
