    Do titanium valves have a marking to know for sure they are not steel? This was a great video, looks like I'll be using it soon

      Easy way to tell, titanium is not magnetic and very light.

    Great video! How did you get the valve seals out? I don't think you showed that.

      @DanMX2112  Před rokem +1

      Just grabbed them with some needle nose pliers. Be careful to only grab the seal and pulls straight out, don’t grasp the top of the guide.

    what do you think about lapping Titanium valves ? Many people talking about you should not lapping because deastoying coating, but user manual has opposite article about how to lapping. Who is right and who is wrong ? Can you explain it ?

    • @DanMX2112
      @DanMX2112  Před rokem

      Im going with the side of caution and not lapping. There really is a coating on the Ti valves, and wearing that off is much harder than people think, but I’m not gonna risk it. A light lapping I think would be fine, but not like you would a steel valve. I think we need to treat them like a nikasil plated cylinder, a light hone is ok as long as you don’t blow through the coating. The coatings are very very hard, and most people act like they are butter, and that’s not the case. To each their own.

      @@DanMX2112 thanks for answer, i think same way. And as i know, if you want replace valves (titanium), you don't need lapping new one, but you need cutting valve seats, or replace it as a set.

      @@Aabbcczzxxcc yes you are correct, and if you go with steel valves, they can be lapped. Spring rates change on steel valves though just remember that!
