Just did my top end watching you step by step. Thanks heaps
Heck yes, glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
I am going to buy an old Yamaha and let you rebuild it for me. Awesome job. Thanks for sharing.
Haha you betcha! Thanks for watching!
Just finishing 2 YZ250F and Splitting the case on a WR450F. The ring choice (factory OEM) on the 450 is obvious due to thickness. but doesn't seem to match the side profile of the manual. I had to put it aside for the evening. I'll re-evaluate in the AM. I think I've met my match for being anal in the cleanliness department. I'm picky, your obsessed👍👍
I can’t work unless my life and bench are organized haha glad to hear someone out there care as much as I do. Let me know what you figure out, curious on the issue. Thanks man, and good luck!
Would be a lot better without the music
Bom dia, amigo eu tenho uma wr 2007 250 ela tá com pouca fouga no vira brequim vc tem passo a passo dela ?
When you are talking about clocking the rings to the correct degree, where is 0 degrees at on the piston? Just needing to know where to start!!😂
In the manual it will show you. I use the exhaust side of piston, arrow side, as 0.
@@DanMX2112 yup, found the image in the manual. It was harder to get the cam chain on than I was anticipating. I need to replace my fly wheel and stator also!😬 waiting for those to get here.
All new when you go back together. Gonna be awesome!!
If I do 180 from each other away from the wrist pin (facing exhaust and intake valves) will it no start condition?
You will bend valves and have tons of issues.
Awesome video, fixing to do first top end rebuild on an 07. Where do you get that print off for organizing the valve buckets with all of their measurements?
Dm me on Instagram and I’ll
Email them to you!
@@DanMX2112 awesome, just sent you a dm on IG. Thank you!
Have u ever ran into a bent exhaust valve & dropped exhaust on cylinder head .. the valve dropped and stuck in piston
Do the cam shaft go on the notch there or not? About to finish top end pls lmk Asap
The cam shafts will self center using the keepers on the cam caps.
Does the cam caps HAVE to be removed when timing? I’ve been keeping them on for the 1-3 tooth adjustment and still not starting. Tried everything
It’s very hard to do, but I think can be done
what was that sound at 56:13 my bike does that sometimes as well
Not sure, I just listened and it didn’t sound like anything weird. Maybe just the kickstarter.
hey, so my bike just keeps backfiring. I did what you did. what should I check?
It’s a lean jetting issue, your pilot jet is to lean cause it to backfire of the throttle. Go a size and play with it.
Is this the same procedure for a 2005 yz450f
Nearly identical!
My 07 has a washer behind that crank bolt , yours didn’t ???
My 06 did not, that why it has that flange nut. May have changed in 07.
@@DanMX2112 copy that 👌🏽
Just wanted to point out ur using an extension so the torque won’t be 100% correct
All good! Not much you can torque on these bikes without one. Thanks for watching, hope the video helped out!
Extension won't make a difference with a torque wrench, only with an impact. There is constant force on the extension with the torque wrench so it transfer like normal.
Is t there some sort of method you need to do for the oil to reach the top of the motor I was briefly told I need to do some something in order for that to happen . Great build my motor is coming out the shop tomorrow and I can’t wait I’ll send photos on ig when the bike is put back together
Great question, so on a full rebuild I do the following. Add oil, remove filter cover and oil filter. While holding the kill switch, and having fuel off, I roll the bike over using the kickstarter slowly till oil start to come up into the filter housing. Install the filter, filter cover. Again roll the bike over slowly for about 10 rotations and the go ahead and fire up. This will bring oil up through the filter housing and should get up close near the cam journals, if not oil them fully. Now, your engine builder should have used a assembly lube, or motor oil to assemble the components on the head. Otherwise, it will be a dry start or semi dry start if you don’t prime the oil pump. Hope this helps you out.
Is the rebuild similar to 2015 yz450f?
Everything is nearly the same, but a few differences.
@@DanMX2112 What differences?
@elkku2934 exhaust and intake direction, differences in fuel injection, 4 valve head, couple minor things.
@@DanMX2112 oh yeah, I know these. Do you know if the flywheel puller is still 24x 1.5 on 2015 yz450?
@@elkku2934 not positive on that, but i would assume that yamaha hasn't changed that thread pitch.
hey Daniel. I have exactly such a motorcycle and I have a problem, can I consult you privately?
Sure Dm me on Instagram!
hey Daniel. I have a 2009 yz450f and I have a problem with the inner shaft of the water pump, can it be removed without disassembling the engine into two parts?
Yes, you’ll have to remove the inner clutch cover, it really is not as bad as it seems. Look up a few videos online and I bet you find something showing you so details. Very easy fix, but takes a bit of time and cleanup.
Got it, I can't find a movie that will show me this. Then you have to open the engine block
Nice very clean your attention to detail is awesome 👌
