It's not a race issue but the man she was dating was a dangerous looking creep. Why date creeps like that? I've seen it many times; women like that like those type of men. Look at the gf's criminals have...blond, beautiful and not too bright. I've seen the documentary and i was shocked by the suffering Katie went through; nobody deserves that but the feeling remained: why not dating a sweet, nice man who enjoyed a good upbringing&education instead of a scary looking criminal?
I see your point but in fairness she never knew he was a criminal in fairness, he told her a pile of lies and she believed him, it's the risk we all take when we date or even engage sexually with a stranger and many of us have done this. He looked just like a typical guy to be honest-yes he was physically bigger and stronger looking than the average guy as he was into that martial arts and the gym but that is not an indication that he was creepy or dangerous. I know some large, physical men and men who are trained boxers etc. who are decent men and would never put their hands on a woman. As for women dating badboys [depends how you define badboy]-that is still different, I know plenty of badboy types too but there is a huge difference between badboy and even a small time criminal [drug dealer/drug addict/alcoholic, crook,man who hits his wife...] than a complete psychopath who would order acid to be thrown in his lover's face. In fairness, very few badboys would go to these extremes.
Katie Piper used to look like all the blonde TV presenter wanabees...now her face may have changed, but she is just as beautiful as she was - in a different, stand alone and unique way. Hundreds of women would love to have one tenth of her grace, style and courage. How ANYONE can blame the girl herself for what happened to her is beyond me. If ever there was proof that beauty is a curse here it is, yes I feel very sorry for Piper and hope her attackers rot in jail but when I hear stories like this and see attractive women left disfigured I just always think back to the saying that beauty is a curse. If Piper had have been normal looking you can be sure this would never have happened.
