100% this. Over time, the longer I play on a world, the bigger and bigger my junk pile gets, which I put outside of my main base. Even if it doesn't eventually cause slow-down (which I'd be surprised if it didn't), it would be an extremely nice QoL feature to have
@@Gaminggmaplays Heyyy, there's an idea! A good one, too. Hopefully won't be needed in the long-term, assuming they add a trash slot in the inventory at some point
I always appreciate when a launch doesn't go as well as planned and the dev team works to fix it. My pain point is how little feedback is felt in combat and the sluggish movement. It doesn't feel smooth or impactful. It looks like you've made some big improvements on the combat side of things. But still a ways to go to make it less choppy. Thanks to the team for working hard.

So excited to stream this and enjoy the new UPDATE! Thank you RtM for all the time, love and effort you have put into this great Lord of the Rings game!
Guys, i'm EXTREMELY happy that this game managed to reach the launch. Ive bought it on Epic maybe a year ago, and now im buying on Steam too. You guys made an amazing game, that deserves to be known by everybody. Best luck and success to you all!

I really like how you can individually change the settings of numerous things in the game, I wish more games had this option available. I might give this game a shot, looks pretty fun and I’ve been meaning to find another survival game to sink my teeth into.
I have a few more suggestions - Goblets of fire should only be lit once - Armour and weapons should last a little longer - things like the small mattress for sleeping or other structures should be able to be built without a campfire - You should be able to delete items - a "purification mechanism" for dirty orc camps would be cool to completely clear mines or other halls of orcish buildings once - That would further increase the immersion, so you could see "wow, I saved this hall, cleaned it up and rebuilt it. In general, I'm a huge fan of this game. The graphics are cute, sometimes even impressive, and the battle system is adequate by my standards. Even though the game has some minor lore issues, there's still a lot to get out of it. The only thing that bothers me about this game is the unbelievable impermanence of dwarven armour and weapons (after all, they were the best smiths in Middle-earth). The "wear and tear" of items should be reworked and or further balanced. What they have brought in with the new update is a very good approach, keep it up.
Just started playing on steam a couple days ago. I'm 20 hours in and I'm loving it. I literally think about playing it whilst I'm at work. Been a while since a survival game has grabbed me like this. You've brought Tolkien's world to life. It's different to the movies but still feels like Tolkien (closer to the feel of reading the hobbit). Great Job!!!
id love to get some sort of engineering system added at some point. similar to Minecraft's redstone. like, Dwarven Craftworks. pipes and cogs and steam, sorting inventory, auto smelting, etc.

The updates seems promising. Got Return to Moria as a gift from my wife for the holidays in 24 and definetely wanna pick ut up again. I'm really interested in checking out the changes to the building system and of course the new music.
Its simple, but the ability to zoom the camera in and out more, would make things feel alot better. Sometimes when entering a large chamber I want to zoom out to take it all in. Or when I get a new piece of armor i want to zoom in to get a better look.
Amazing Job Guys! Can't wait to play and Live Stream the Game more on my channel! This is easy one of the Best Lord of the Rings Games out there! It is also a Great survival game! So fun! Thank you so much guys!
If I may ask, as a PlayStation 5 player, where is Sandbox mode? I’ve played just under 500 hours, played all the way through (my 1st play through was deleted by a saved error when I was nearing the final boss) and still Sandbox does not appear as an option for me. Am I missing something or will it arrive in August? Love the changes you’ve made (most especially the building being reworked, bravo!), so thanks for those and for giving us more!! 😃
Awesome. Love the game! Would be cool if we would get some Mounts like a Ram. A second game would be insane, something like Return to Mirkwood where you need to cleanse the Mirkwood as an Elf from Saurons foul Beasts and dark Magic.
A magic system that is very limited, have the dwarves not use it as respectfully as an elf and maybe that results in the use of said magic or magic items to be more humerous and expirmental then how its intended
Greetings! Firstly, I appreciate the hard work you’ve put into the game, but I wanted to share a few observations from my gameplay experience, hope developers read the comments. Map Design: While I understand this might not be a widely shared opinion, I feel the current map design could use some refinement. It still feels a bit flat and lacks the detail one might expect from the rich world of Middle-earth. The current minimalist aesthetic feels too modern or austere for a dwarven setting. A more detailed, stylized design-something reminiscent of classic Middle-earth dwarf art-might make the experience feel more immersive. Inventory QoL Improvements: The inventory system is already good, but there’s room for a bit more convenience. A hotkey or key combination for quickly dropping loot would be great. Additionally, I’d suggest adding a feature similar to what the Grounded developers implemented-allowing players to quickly transfer items into nearby chests by pressing a button or key combo. Archery Mechanics: The current archery mechanics feel off. The bow behaves more like an automatic weapon than a traditional archery system. It could benefit from some adjustments to make it feel more like you shoot from a bow. And one more thing regarding this. I could be wrong of course, but perhaps dwarves would prefer to shoot with a crossbow rather than a bow for a number of reasons. Digging Mechanics & Crosshair Issue: There's an issue with digging where, after breaking a resource cell, some voxels remain floating. When trying to dig these, the crosshair behaves oddly-it appears off-center, making it difficult to accurately target smaller voxels. This can be frustrating when these leftover voxels hinder movement. I hope these suggestions are helpful, and I look forward to seeing how the game continues to evolve. Thanks again for your hard work!
Another thibg I would like to see is that dwarves were great craftsmen and they would have not only rich architecture and works if metal but also mechanical might. I was thinking that the crystal decent should have an official lift of somekind especially since it was a pilgrimage and therefore frequented. Also moria feels worked in and not lived in. the "houses" feel like workspaces than homes they are beautifully done but an entire people used to live in thise mountains where children played and dwarves worked yes but also live lives but it tends to feel like a bunch of work spaces at times in stead of actual ruined cities.
Love to see you guys took time to change the building!! Looks like you’re building options are almost on par with Once Human. Building is 50% of these types of games. This particular game has one of the most coziest environments I’ve honestly played in. I would absolutely lay down more cash for an expansion that offers deeper dungeons and much more building options. Keep up the good work and the content coming, you have a unicorn survival of game here. Now that you have the console world in your grasp you’re definitely going to have to keep the content flowing! These gamers are kind of a different breed.. they’ll play games till they pass out of beat the game, they is no self control unless the parents enable the parental controls 🤭😆.
Thanks for the video, I hope steam achievements don't have a multiplayer requirement to complete it 100% because as a single player it blocks 100% on many games. thank
There needs to be a sensitivity setting for the camera. Im on xbox. Sitting the bow can be very frustrating! If im missing something please let me know. I do like the game though!

Best update 🔥 The cross-play is a must these days, sandbox mode will give us liberty to enjoy the mechanics since not everyone would like to wander or be locked behind campaing progress to enjoy what the game has to offer. I hope some of the earlier bugs to be dealt with since a few ones really can break the game 😅
I imagine in other patches, they will put gold, white and black for the Mithril armor. Do you have the new Nogrond armor set? I only have the chest and hands I think it's a bug... There is no way to unlock the helmet and legs... sorry for the english.
@@Holy_LordYes! When you get there, let me know if they unlock the whole set for you, okay? Well, I've fixed all the statues and nothing. Then, in the game's message, it says that if you've fixed all the statues, when you turn on the forge, it gives it to you. I had the sandbox map before the last patch, so that's probably where the bug is... I'm going to have to make another sandbox map, I see it coming...And this is the 4th time... Something always happens... You can't access the third abyss, and the fourth abyss, the forge of Belegost is not there. Really, I'm really unlucky... 🤯
@@dktekejas Will do pal. I had the same problem with the iron mountain armour though. Fixed all the statues in the very first region in sandbox but never got the last part for the armour.
@@Holy_Lord Hello friend, I am clear that if you do not discover the armor when fixing the statues, and they release another patch, they no longer give you anything. I don't understand it but that's how it is. Then I created another Sandbox, and I'm amazed at the new biomes they added and changed many of the old galleries. That's why if you have old games, you will see that they have graphical errors on walls that if you get close you will fall 🤣. Conclusion, it is worth making another map, because they have also placed a tomb that is a labyrinth and if you go up it makes you anxious because there are about 50 doors, it's crazy...
That's pretty cool. I'm a big fan of the game. But I would like to see an option to use Control in PC. Also I would like to know if you fix the problem with the respawn of some materials like wood elf. Really good game. 🙌🏻
What would you guys recommend for first time players with me and my buddys? We are experienced gamers and have experience with survival games and such. Would you say we start out with campaign? Or just straight into sandbox?
I wouldn't say I'm experienced with survival games, but I recommend playing the campaign (at least for a bit to get the hang of the controls). If you aren't super into the story after a while, you can always change to sandbox. You take your dwarf, so you will keep your equipment unless you want to get a fresh start. If you are a fan of LOTR, play through the whole campaign. I think it is worth it.
Loving Return to Moria so far. It's highly reminiscent of Valheim's gameplay, but (imo) with better controls and even more QoL features. Just like Valheim, R2M has a strong emphasis on progressing into the unknown, while acquiring more kit to use against increasingly difficult enemies/hordes/bosses/raiding-parties. The basebuilding has a decent amount of variety too, with the freedom to build pretty much anywhere from what I can tell. I really hope they keep creating new biomes and new reasons to explore further. That and a slight upgrade to the a.i. would go a long way. Tbh the game's just a bit too slow and forgiving to really keep a lot of today's audience engaged and invested. I never really fear that I'm going to bust through a random door in the darkness and be greeted by anything truly dangerous. Let me put it this way; even Minecraft has Creepers and TNT traps. We've all heard that iconic hiss directly behind us, and jumped as we scrambled to get away ASAP. We've all broken through the floor in a desert temple, only to fall onto the pressure plate and trigger the familiar fuse noise that has undoubtedly given a few Hermitcraft members PTSD. Additionally, because of the nature of procedurally-generated maps, I'm also regularly entering spaces and having the feeling that I probably won't find anything really exciting there, since I've just seen 2 or 3 similar structures nearby with little variation or inherent value to me. Where's the Hardcore mode? Where's the PvP-based Extraction mode? That could actually be REALLY cool in this game; especially if you add a few more Masterwork items with more team-oriented uses, and allow people to gain levels in traits that complement their playstyles. The game is pretty darn good, but it could easily be a massive hit with a few changes here and there. I really hope we see some of those changes soon ❤ I got this game the day it released on Xbox, and I'm shocked/sad to see it being received so poorly.
I love this game but would just really like a free mode where the enemies are completely turned off. Then I can rebuild Moria in peace. I don't even want achievements. I just want to build, test and repair everything back to a cool state without orcs coming around at all. I don't even get why they spawn if I've destroyed every single camp and beat the game.
Biggest question for me, did you fix the BS map that has the Axe fragment of Durin in a perfectly square room that is unreachable? This completely ruined our play through the first time. Looks like decent changes, looking forward to playing again.
Will this be Steam Deck Verified or easily Playable ? I’ll buy it again on Steam if so…I currently own & play on PS5! If I can travel & play this omg, yeah, I’ll buy it again for sure
one of the best games and community friendly devs i've seen in YEARS! just finished the story mode, now starting sandbox and i recommend the game to everyone i know
Hello friend, in sandbox mode there is still this error with the armor issue (when repairing the statues they do not give you the armor set, (Except for Durin's, and Mithril with the 6 new weapons) The others do not work. Have you passed the story mode, I passed it when it came out. Have they given you the Nogrond armor set? I only have the chest and hands, and no matter how much you repair statues they don't give you anything... 🤯
I think the biggest issue is the grid nased building it just doesnt work. When the Environment is placed off grid. Sometimes you cant adjust the buillding part to the angle of the rooms. 🤮
Glad that the Epic money finally ran dry and you can launch on Steam. Hope it was worth it being on a dead store and no one even knowing the game was out.
As much as I love this game and enjoyed the time I had with it. I can't really see it doing well going forward, there is not enough to do you basically experience everything it has to offer at +- 55 hours with the campaign, sandbox is very similar with not many differences at all. But my biggest issue is that they are not adressing the games biggest issues like the comdat (the changes are nice but not enough to make it actually decent) and variety in weapons, armor and maps to name only 2, and it does not seem as if they are committed to expanding the game at all with updates to small things like cooking that should not be at the top of the priority list at all, it just seems as if the game is on the backburner for the studio. It makes me really sad because this game has immense potential, and I REALLY LOVE both Lotr and dwarves. The updates are alright and all just very underwelming.

I really hope we see some of those changes soon ❤
I got this game the day it released on Xbox, and I'm shocked/sad to see it being received so poorly.
You can put all settings as such on low, it’s not off, but it’s quite the difference
Is scrapping unwanted items for building materials a thing?
Biggest question for me, did you fix the BS map that has the Axe fragment of Durin in a perfectly square room that is unreachable? This completely ruined our play through the first time. Looks like decent changes, looking forward to playing again.
Will this be Steam Deck Verified or easily Playable ? I’ll buy it again on Steam if so…I currently own & play on PS5! If I can travel & play this omg, yeah, I’ll buy it again for sure
Any chance I can move my Epic store version over to Steam?
I'm testing it on August 27th for Xbox 19.99€ the price is good. And the game is kind of like deep Rock gala. Only in the Lord of the Rings universe🎉
Looks much better now, I might want to try it out :)
Take back the Lonely Mountain DLC is what I want.
You talked about cross play but didn’t cover anything about the PlayStation users. Do we not have cross play? You specifically said PC steam and Xbox
If you watch the video again, you can see that one of players is labeled as PS5
Thanks
Loving this stuff, but 8:43 got me good.
Amazing, love the Game! Can´t wait start an new Game with the Update. THX Guys :)
one of the best games and community friendly devs i've seen in YEARS! just finished the story mode, now starting sandbox and i recommend the game to everyone i know
Hello friend, in sandbox mode there is still this error with the armor issue (when repairing the statues they do not give you the armor set, (Except for Durin's, and Mithril with the 6 new weapons) The others do not work. Have you passed the story mode, I passed it when it came out. Have they given you the Nogrond armor set? I only have the chest and hands, and no matter how much you repair statues they don't give you anything... 🤯
I have the game on Epic but it stutters on my Steamdeck so I’ll purchase the steam release too
it shouldnt be a dodge, it should enhance block to take no dmg.
i bought it when it released on epic and im gonna buy it from steam when it releases.
Ok, I'm in. heading to steam.
I think the biggest issue is the grid nased building it just doesnt work. When the Environment is placed off grid. Sometimes you cant adjust the buillding part to the angle of the rooms. 🤮
Let us build dwarven cities in the rock.
Glad that the Epic money finally ran dry and you can launch on Steam. Hope it was worth it being on a dead store and no one even knowing the game was out.
dedicated servers would be perfect!
For Carl! I mean... arragghhh!
I feel so spoilt. I just started playing recently as it came out on xbox and its so much fun.
Watching old videos it's obvious that the devs care and make it so much better over time
Just got into this game and currently stonewalled by black diamonds😕
finally on steam!!
