  • The Feed the Future Ghana Agriculture Technology Transfer Project has made a breakthrough with use of urea briquettes under maize cultivation. Farmers stand the chance of increasing their yields through this technology. In this episode, Adam, a farmer in Golinga Irrigation scheme in Northern Region of Ghana who made good money using urea deep placement (UDP) is introduced to UDP in maize.

    To be really honest the planter doesn’t obey the 8cm by 40cm which by far plants more and bring better yields.

      Bro, what really is the best spacing sir???? Bcus I have seen some videos as well that suggest that the space between one plant of maize to another one should be 6 inches only. I have also seen some videos of a twin plants on a row.

      @@aruwewetv6018 There are many options. On your land, plant different population in different parts, measure your yield. Start using the one that works best for you.
      So you can divide one hectare into four zones. Plant with different spacing in each zone.
      Farming requires experimenting. What works for one farmer, may not work the same for another, due to many factors like soil composition, rain, etc.
