Ford Ranger No Forward or Reverse (Broken Sprag)

If you don’t have D or R but manual 1 and 2 works then this is your problem. Also you can drive with OD off and when you get to highway speeds you can turn OD on and it will up shift to OD.

Able to get in gear with manual 1 or 2? Or with it in D with the o/d turned off? If those selections work, then it is the sprag just like mine

Exactly what mine is doing. It will move in L, not D… No forward or reverse. Feels like it wants to try but nothing happens in Drive. How hard was it to replace and how long did it take you? Costs?

When turning off the OD should it be kept in 2nd gear to reach highway speeds (55mph) then turn on OD while still in 2nd and the overdrive will kick in or should there be some other manual shifting involved like back to D also?

Keep in 2nd until it needs to shift to 3rd, then go to drive without overdrive on, then turn on iverdrive
