  • Between ages 12-15 weeks you're in an awkward stage where you feel like your baby isn't a newborn any more, and they aren't really a baby yet...so where are we? A 12-15 week old is technically still a newborn as they have chaotic sleep cycles and they have not yet gone through a transformation where sleep cycles change from just 2 cycles (REM and NREM) to fully mature sleep cycles (REM and all stages of NREM).
    In this video I'm sharing the strategies that you can use with this "awkward" stage to help make sleep a whole lot better right now!

    My son loves and sleeps so fast when he's swaddled. I'm worried in 2 wks he's not gonna be able to be swaddled. Gotta find new tricks to calm him.
    That blouse looks fabulous on you. 🤩

    Can i take out one arm from the swaddle if my baby is very close to turn from side to side?

    These videos are soo helpful! My baby turns 3 months this Friday and I needed the reminder that we are doing a good job. She really is a good sleeper for her age. But Babywise is out there making perfectionists like me feel like I'm doing it wrong 😅😊

      Hey Christianna! Your baby may not be following Babywise and that is totally OK!

      Hi Becca,this videos have really helped me thank you. A question here, my baby was born 15 days before her due date, does that affect the sleep training process. She's three months old not from her fue date but from the day she was born, I had a c-section. I want to start sleep training at 5 months but I'm confused if it should be from the due date or if its fine from the day she was born. Thank you for all your help.

      @Minerva Luna she always says go by due date, not birth day! So you'll want to start sleep training 2 weeks later! Little Z's basic plan starts at 16 weeks from due date. We are 1 week into it and it's been amazing.

    My tip is... Love them. ☺️ If they are healthy and know that they are loved, they will sleep better.
    It's just getting past that newborn reflux stage that's super difficult for most families.

      Exactly 😅listening to this “70-75 minute window” stuff is exhausting. Just let the baby sleep when they’re sleepy. My 15 week old sleeps when I do because he’s with me and it’s night - it’s dark, it’s quiet and boring and he feels secure cos I’m near. In the day, there’s stuff going on around him and he’s more interested in that than sleeping. He’ll have a 30 minute nap here and there and he is active the rest of the time. I think “training” a human in any way can be emotionally exhausting for both participants but if it works for you - and you’re not leaving your kid to cry it out - fine.

    My 3 month old will only nap on me during the day! Sleeps great in his bassinet at night though. How do I put him to sleep in his bassinet during the day!? Help!

      Hey there, Emmy! Congrats on your sweet little one! The awkward 3-4 month time can be challenging when it comes to sleep! Can you copy/paste the above question/comments and email them to support@littlezsleep.com so that my team can provide you with the best support? Thank you!! 💛 Becca

    If my baby was born 39 weeks… do I not consider them 4 months until 17 weeks ? Although they are considered full term…

    • @littlezsleep
      @littlezsleep  Před rokem

      You can consider them 4 months at the 16 week mark as the 1 week in age will not make a difference! If their adjusted age is more than 3+ weeks, then we recommend going by 16 weeks from due date and not birth date!
