To my knowledge, this is the first time someone has destroyed an entire planet. Can't say for sure if it is the actual first time, but it's definitely the first time I've ever seen it done. Nice job.
It is too my knowledge, and if you tried this at release you couldn’t even get a quarter and after many performance updates that changed the way terrain was destroyed we got this
i wouldn't call desolo is a planet but i would definitely say this *is* the first time i have seen someone pretty much take out an entire celestial object.
@@Dereck_Boss it's hard to say. After all, there's a lot unexplained concerning oxygen in this game, as it is only used by the astroneers and it is only produced by oxygenators, seemingly out of nothing, not even water. Because you can only get oxygen from oxygenators, there is no way to know if there is really no oxygen in atmospheres of any planetoids in the game, or if it might be there, but there's no reason to collect it.
Thanks for answering a question I've had for a while in that, could you see your level of destruction of a planet from orbit. And that answer is yes. 👍
I was doing the same thing earlier! 😂 Lining up the dynamites seem to do all the deforming. It looks beautiful from up here. Even though it is a bad thing in real life. 😆
I don't remember, though, how large and how fast you can make the terrain tool in Creative? If it's pretty big then that might be faster than dynamite, and iirc you can tell it to not drop resources from mined terrain...
I've always wanted to do this not thanks to you and your either obsessive or never give up attitude I don't have to endanger my fragile mind doing it... A massive thank you to you.

Why did you do it by hand? Wouldn't it be far easier to just use mechanical arms to place 64 dynamite/sec on the chess board things, that when filled with dynamite can destroy ¼ of a sylvia mountain, and then use hooks or something to carry many at a time?
Lol, my friend and I were considering trying to detonate so mach dynamite in the core of Atrox to completely obliterate it but we're not sure it would work
I was just thinking about doing this because i was curious but i don't think i want to do it anymore, plus my computer would explode before any dynamite does
Probably not as you’d need astronomical amounts of dynamite and it would be nigh impossible to place all of it in the spots where it’s needed without flying
@@kevins4213 On controller if you pick up an item you can press left on the D-Pad to delete the item you are holding, you could use a steam controller setup and possibly macro the whole process of flying and deleting items
Strange. Our current system must be using old files of Desolo. It appears that in every instance of the training program, Desolo is still a full moon. The real Desolo is split nearly down the middle, with stray, broken pieces creating an asteroid-like belt in the center. I am still not entirely sure how the Halving Disaster occurred. The Astroneer who committed the bizarre crime claimed he was following instructions. which could not possibly be true. The Elysium crew members in the training program must carry a deep subconscious need to recreate the Halving Disaster. It would explain why they keep blowing the poor moon to smithereens. - Chronos

let's game it out: finally a worthy opponent! our time wasting will be legendary!

More like a floating ores planet lol
Desolo don't have gases 🤯

This man blew up an entire planet in just a short 3:00 video

In theory someone could delete a planet with the terrain tool, and take all the resources in canisters for it to be cleaner
yeah but that would take years even if you do it 24/7

I've been chipping away at it with hydrogen and tnt in survival mode for awhile now. Its not even half done. The moon must die, and I must kill it.
