- Taken from the Brothers and Sisters 4 disc set, this version is the same as that which appears on the Wipe The Windows, Dollar Gas album of 1976. However, this is a much better remaster. Enjoy!
A long drive on a country road passing by cornfields in Carolina early in the morning.
Oh yesss ....... 😊
NICE I HEAR YA
SOUNDS LIKE A SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE TO ME .....GOD BLESS !!!!!!!
Low country cruising. ❤
This is my favorite song. Yes, #1. I’m 68 now. Have listened to many rock and roll bands over the years and if I had to guess, thousands of tunes. Never have heard this version. Same song and it’s gorgeous, but what version sits at #1 is the soaring, flamming , electrifying version on the Live at the Fillmore East double album. If the Good Lord is gracious enough to let me live a long life, I will listen to this song every year until I’m 90. I was fortunate enough to see the band I guess around 77 or 78. Still the tightest band I ever saw. If I could gather all of you for a night, put you all on a magical bus and go back in time to that night in June of 1971 and sit everyone down in the Fillmore when they closed that glorious concert hall, I would. Love you all as the name of their album “Brothers and Sisters.”☮️🎸💕😮
@ Michael .... I could not agree more ... I’m 64 , so yes , grew up with the ABB ... I saw them at SIU at Carbondale , I’ll. in 1977 ... An outdoor concert . They were young , tight , on top of their game . Just wow ... Later down the road ( after they had broken up ) I saw Dickie Betts with his band Great Southern at the Fox Theatre ... St. Louis .... just superb !!!! This one ... IMOER ... is a masterpiece ... Dickie Betts wrote it as I’m sure you know ... Anyway ... just outstanding ! God Bless !
68 years old and still thinking there's some gracious God man you need to check yourself bro. Ask yourself when you I will ask you when you became convinced of a God's existence? Don't you know that probabilities outweigh possibilities? At 68 almost 70 years old?
@@jackbommarito7678 you really haven't learned about the superstation the built your god belief up. There is no god and if so probably doesn't have a pecker. Cut that nasty foreskin's. Off or your god won't like you anymore. Lol live son don't just die
I've heard so many good songs since i was young up to now (66 years old) that it would be difficult to pick my favorite but if i had to pick one it's got to be this song off the Fillmore East album.
The Allman Brothers Band broke up in 1976 and reformed in early 1979. They did not perform in concert in 1977 or 1978.
Went to school 7th and 8th grade with Dickie Betts nephew in Brunswick Ga in the early 70s met him a couple of times
that is very cool man
This music was so far ahead of time it’s insane to think something like this could be happening in any era.
This version of their all time greatest hit is so sublime and involved that it just staggers the imagination!!!
I was at this show and the one the same year, New Years Eve at the Cow Palace.
Wish I owned a time machine.
God I miss those days.
Thank you my dear God for this beautiful music. Gregg and the rest of his band were given this wonderful talent and I thank God they all used it to make us happy and grateful just to listen to this powerful music.
Yes indeed!
They don't make it like this anymore!! What Talent, Wow, Wow
WOW!
Dicky’s playing on this is sublime, so smooth, fluid, melodic!! The whole band is tight as can be!!
yes my name is michael Riggs and I am 62 years old this Band is All some
Sublime, smooth, melodic, tight! I'd say that sums it up nicely!!!
Still a soldier at 63. I used to listen to this in the dark, maybe a black light...
No band ever has or ever will do it better
So true brother.
DITTO!
Amen Brother!✝
Fantastic version of their brillant song; incredibly cool - my personal favourite one!
If you like this version, check out High Falls with the same lineup.
Personally, I like the Fillmore East version better, mainly due to Duane's solo.
Can't go wrong either way.
@@MarcLiggett Thanx, I'll give it a chance.
Heard this on ByteFM and was instantly in love with this tune.
71 and enjoying immensely in j2024 so happy to have found this copy of the album
Beautiful… Just beautiful….
Sitting on my wrap around porch In the Adirondack mountains ⛰
When it comes to instrumentals, no one can surpass the ABB. Such a fluid, melodious sound. Duane and Dickie were a match made in heaven. That's not to overlook the rest of the band's contribution. Never to be repeated ❤️
No one does down home Southern rock better!! RIP DUANE AND GREG!!!
.
AMEN!
The Allman Brothers strongly disliked the phrase "Southern Rock". Now you know.
Duane Allman had already died when this concert was recorded. There are no vocals for Gregg to sing on this instrumental song. The only Allman contribution here is Gregg's laid back organ work. Chuck Leavell plays the electric piano.
RIP Berry Oakley and Butch Trucks as well
Ain't nothin' better than the Allman Brothers!!! Lamar and Leavell added to the magic!!
CHECK OUT The Song : Q
UEEN of Hearts ' Many Gerrrr-ate Songs ...
Nope! Cause it's better with the Allman Brothers!
The greatest band America ever produced...Period. And in my opinion this is the best recorded version of this classic..Chuck Level was the best pick to join the band & Wipe the Windows, Check the Oil, Dollar Gas has been a favorite album since it was released and on this album you can hear Jaimos drums out front, loud & clear 🍑
Saw them live in SF in 1974. Loved it!
I think it is the most beautiful song ever
Rose Hill Cemetery , l Hear Lot of great music & Just hanging out was awesome time's at Rose Hill Cemetery ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
💥👍💥👍💥
Jazz meet blues meet rock meet fusion, meet mood music of the highest order and as one has said before, very fluid and see and lift on the heart knowing my whole body was enjoying this, have seen them 2 doing this is top drawer, this, a life long fan from NYC..go figure
Chuck covering Duane guitar 🎸 parts...fantastic 🎹🎹🎹🎹
Really nice version...
Yes , brilliant . Better than the Fillmore
Omgosh I was there! ABB forever. ❤️
Chuck Leavell is the most under-rated musician in history!!!!
Not by other musicians
Amongst those who know, Chuck is the man.
Check out ‘Tree Man’ documentary about Chuck. He just may have the best life ever!!
World’s greatest love song!
It maybe old still shines just as natural diamond
I Saw the allman brothers in 1971 at a Speedway North of Denver it was right before Greg died the opening act was Delaney and Bonnie with Eric Clapton one awesome concert hard to believe it was 51 years ago
Was gonna bust your chops on who died but figured it wasn't worth the time.
Duane died in 1971.
So sad to think that I live in South Carolina, only about three hours from Macon and the Allman Brothers Band are virtually forgotten down here in SC.
If I had a time machine, it would only need to go back as far as 1971.
Altho going back to 66 wouldn't be bad...esp with Kesey
If this is not the best cruzin song , I do not know what is. The best of American music
This is True Musicianship! Rock On Bros! Giovanni Motivation Musication Thanks
Chuck 'higher' Leavell
THE Best.....
Check out the live version of Ramblin' Man from this same show! Could be Dickey's finest playing! It's on Wipe the Windows.
Fire, bro! Those drums are on fi-yaaaa!!!!
Does everybody know the back story to this beautiful piece of music. It will make you almost cry.
It involved Dickey Betts having an intimate affair with Boz Scaggs' late girlfriend, Carmella, at Macon's Rose Hill Cemetery.
Saw them there Doobie Brothers and Flying Burrito Brothers was AWSOME!!!
Around the world
Everyone s FAVORITE song 🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽♥️
What is so amazing about this ledgendary song is that it seems to get better with time !!!
This is a good version but I still think Fillmore East 71 was the all time best..
Very good music.
Awesome ‘BROTHERS A. ‘. ‘ recording and rendition….
This is what heaven ❤ all about
This is the best version of this composition. Also, I recommend the version by John Pizzarelli...
Only really cool ppl vibe with Allman Brothers. Stay tuned. I'll meet you on the other side everybody.
Yes, we will definitely be there, in the biggest concert.
B 4 being cool was cool
Truly Dickie's masterpiece.
Thanks for accepting my apologies 😁
Fender Rhodes is a nice addition to this tune.
this recording of IMOER is genuinely distinctive from the others.
Got see them perform ALbuqerque, NM
Already am!!! Thanks David Haesler!
Yep\,What Micheal Blirke said
I'm from the southern music production school. (Atlanta Rythym Section, Mother's Finest, Skynyrd, etc) I have no idea if this is true but I heard it from road crews from several southern bands. Someone was having sex in a graveyard and the gravestone was marked Elizabeth Reed. I walked around the graveyard by I-16 where Duane and Berry are buried. If such a grave existed, I didn't see it.
The grave can be found on Find-A-Grave under the name Elizabeth Jones REED Napier in Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon Georgia.
If you stand on the road looking up the hill towards Duane and Berry’s graves (along the RR track) , turn to your right and walk 50 yards or so and Liz Reed Napier will be on your left.
What's my favorite Allman Brothers song?
Whatever one I'm listening to at the moment.
