    I like how the NYTM paired up the BMT standards and the IND arnine cars and the fact that they added US flags on the Arnines reminds me of the Dec-Jan Retirement Runs of the R32.

    Now if I ran the zoo (Never let a lion run the zoo) I would plan a holiday mystery tour. I'd just use six cars, but I would not publish the route. We go this way and then we go that way, we wander across lines never used, into pockets, into yards, stop occasionally to let pax on or off, but not telling them where the train is going or when they can get off.

    Old equipment puts a smile on my face every time. Not sure the new trains we have today will be making nostalgia runs 90 years from now.

    *My father ( who recently passed away) worked for the MTA for 35 years before retiring in 1999 so as a boy I rode the R-9s before they were retired in the late 70's I loved the ceiling fans*

    Awesome show of restored museum cars. I've had the pleasure of viewing these classics at the Transit Museum.
    Thanks DJHAMMERS Trains😀💚

    The Bmt Standard were replaced by R1/9 series. I.N.D. meets B.M.T.

      @8avexp Před rokem +2

      You had the Triplexes in between. The R-1/9s borrowed a good idea from them: end bulkhead route and destination signs, something the BMT standards didn't have (and the main reason I didn't care for them back when they still ran on the Canarsie line)

    What in heavens name did CI yard do to the standards? The paint scheme is not right! If they didn't know the right color, they could have gone to the transit museum to get the right color!
