My word this year is "balance". I will be teaching, but also starting graduate school. I also want to connect and communicate more with friends and family, but also maintain my quiet times to pray/reflect/clean/study, etc.
So I am definitely looking to BALANCE all of these areas!
(And I also certainly thank God EVERYDAY for REST and a good bed!!! 😴)

Cute idea! Crates are also very useful to use as student mailboxes. It’s the same concept, but students would pick up their reviewed work instead.

For way too many years I’ve put myself on the back burner. This year, I’m stepping back into the spotlight. I need to get healthy, I need to have opinions, I need to do self care, and so many more things.

My word of the year is courage...I left my job and my country...everything is new. The culture, the people, not working, feeling like a chicken at heart but putting on a brave face...a lot of self talk, praying and waiting...enough of that.

In NC, we do S, N, or I for behaviors and for Subjects we give them a 1, 2, 3, or 4 based on expectations

I teach 1st grade, too. We have to have 18 grades per subject per quarter: 4 Tests, 4 Quizzes, the rest is Classwork/Homework. So, two grades a week per subject. We have numeric grades and Citizenship is five different categories.

What do your kids do with their work that they don’t finish ?
I have my kids put their unfinished work in a pocket chart that hangs on my wall, so at a quick glance I can see who has work to finish.
My kiddos have a green unfinished folder in their desk. ((HUGS))
