Drone footage like this has made windsurfing exciting again. Watching the racing from the drone made it 10x more exciting than watching from the shore. If anything drives a resurgence in windsurfing it’s going to be footage like this.
Balz being brilliant as always! The whole PWA event has been awesome...the slalom battles between foil and fin, then the freestyle, the level is so high. This is the icing on the cake :)
The wind did really crazy things yesterday, if it happens again i will recomend to do a fly by of the whole lagoon, funny things happening there. Temperature was too hot. Looking good for the next days.
Just give the guy the title. Question for Balz, dimensions and volume of that board? Question for Johannes, the sound of the waves is edited not? i mean you add it afterwards, why can the wind be heard and not the rotors of the drone?
I think that would sound do “numb”, you know kind of like having a curtain in front of a speaker. So regarding sound I recorded wind and waves during similar conditions so it sounds most realistic. It wasn’t the sound of this session though!

What is your current model of drone? I am just looking for something that will survive in more windy conditions. If there is something better on the market what's you pick?
@@johannes_hertel I was only using DJI mini series and got annoyed with losing connection and strong wind warnings and it wasn't that windy. Of course, the mini series is just a toy comparing to Mavic, 3-4 times lighter etc. However on paper it should resist 10.7m/s (vs 12 m/s in Mavic) but it's far away from reality.
Which Mini were you using? It's always surprising what these small drones are capable of! However, especially because of flying in wind I see its limit regarding windsurfing. Regarding wind warning, I safely ignore that (you don't have to do it my way) :D. How many bft or knots would you say your many handles?@@remigiuszhajduk

just a guess: hi-pass filter during video-edit eliminating the frequency band of the rotors.

@@husse fully agree, this ambient sound is nicely fitting even if fake. Music added to ws videos in general does not belong and can be annoying
