I have fished Romania many times, because my family is from there and I visit. Depending on where you're going you're better off targeting chub or catfish, unless of course you're fishing in the Danube delta. Then you have every fish right at your finger tips

I've fished for carp and catfish all my life, just been getting into bass fishing the past few years. I've caught carp on everything from McDonald's french fries to chicken liver.

hey rob when you're trying to trap minnows, go to smaller creeks that have deep pools in them and white bread works good as well. that's what works for me at least. love you're vids dude

if I were you, id go as small as you can without sacrificing strength. go to the flyfishing section of bass pro or cabelas. the fly hooks are super small but real strong. I got some egg hooks that are like size 16 and I manage to pull in a 13lb channel cat. they are crazy strong for how small they are
yeah, the smaller the hook the better. carp have very sensitive mouths and are also very spookish, so if they feel the hook they leave.

I've caught minnows in a similar get-up using fish food flakes. Usually throw it in some grass where I can see them. To make a somewhat one-way entrance I cut a little + and folded the corners in so they point inside. ; )
These carp videos are awesome if you're trying to catch minnows small shallow creeks are the way to go

Love ultra light tackle for channel cat. Always use it for bluegill and creek fishing.
Rob i throw out a few hand fulls of cattle cubes.... drink a beer... and then throw a #3 treble hook on an ultra light baited with a home made dough bait.... crush up some corn flakes (not frosted flakes) in a zipplock bag and add a little big red till the mix is a thick sticky dough.... you will kill em.... keep a wet rag around to clean off your fingers...

Rob, When I was a youngster in Indiana in the early to mid 60's we used to put a buck in the pot and fish carp with ice fishing poles. It was some of the most fun ever. Since the bass bite has been so bad lately I've been thinking of trying again.

If you ever get the chance try salmon fishing, in my experience silver salmon are the funnest to catch because they just fight wild and will do some crazy flips out of the water, they also taste amazing in general and even better when they are fresh
Ultra light carp fishing is always a blast. I've cuaght a 18lber on a trout rod with 2lb test, took about 20 minutes to get in. Love the content!

You need to find smaller creeks for catching baitfish, like 10 feet across or so the smaller creeks always seem to have a lot in them
Put yellow corn meal in a stocking and put it in the fish trap. I've heard this works very good.

that's all i use is light tackle. i don't use more then 6lb. for fish around here. we fight bull carp on 2lb line. it takes awhile but it's truly a blast. great video
Hey Rob, you should take the plastic off of your rod, if moisture or water gets trapped inside it could rot the cork. Loving the videos, keeps me inspired to fish every day that I can. (Fly only ;), if you have questions about fly fishing I'd be glad to help. Thanks man :)
Hey rob i used to trap minnows for pike and walley fishing... the new trap you have looks like it should work but throw some lead weights in it to help it sink and use saltine crackers crumbled up. Hope you can use these tips and they can get gary some food
Rob you should try to make a minnow trap with a normal water bottle because the hole in the bottle was too big so the minnows can swim out easier

Rob i dont know about texas but in nc all the minnows usually swim around the bank so maybe give your trap a shot near the bank maybe youll have some luck..... really enjoy the videos
carp will eat crawdads, but they need to be fresh and alive. hook down through the carapace, back to the tail, and out the top. it works wonders at Willard Bay in Northern Utah. be sure to not separate the crawdad's back carapace from it's legs, they die REALLY quick when you do. carp won't eat the dead ones, but they also won't eat one that is not wounded. the first tap on the pole, set the hook. they spit more than bread, but you tend to hook up with the larger specimens...

I love fishing for carp this way. Using the lightest tackle posdible. Biggest one landed so far was a 7.4 lb common carp on my pfluger tion gx7 with a 7 ft ultra light and 4 lb line
