"You're gonna need 5, 6, 7 hours". Well - I was there for 13 hours straight, and although I've "seen" everything once, I still felt at the end when I had to go, that there were things and scenes that I didn't look at / wanted to have a look at.
The Miniatur Wunderland is a marvelous place. If you allow it, you really can get sucked into the immersion. You can stand in one place and look at tiny scenes for minutes. Then take three or four steps to the side, which is already much at that scale, and look again for a minute, seeing many new things up close.

Although they call it Knuffingen Airport (with Knuffingen being a fictional German city in the Wunderland) the terminal buildings, tower and the Lufthansa hangar can be found at Hamburg's real airport. Only their relative position and the arrangement of taxi ways does not match the original.

In the Airport Terminal you can see the real departures from Hamburg Airport.
Also the prices on the gasstaitions are the same like outside in the real city.
