    Beautiful video, Sam.
So you can make beautiful patterns in its wooden blank.

Nice tools for sure Sam and you displayed it very well. I am sure that your expertise even makes them easier to use but they do look easy enough even for the inexperienced.
    Take care

A very useful review and demonstration of the beading tool Sam, that super thin one from D-Wya is a belter mate, I have had a look on the internet, and Ashley Iles and Robert Sorby produce a thin 1/8" parting tool in the UK......another addition to the armoury I think :)
    Take care
    Mike

Mike Waldt Yes it is so thin. I could never turn a bead that small with another tool. Hope all is well.

Nice demo Sam. I have several of D-Ways gouges and skews. All excellent tools that arrive very sharp and hold an edge well. I Have been considering his beading tools and now I think it's time to order up, thanks for the tips!
Side note to those considering buying from Dave: Not only are his tools excellent he has great service and ships super fast!

I would love to get me some of these tools when I'll start thinking about creating an indexing plate for my lathe so I could turn some basket effect bowls.... that could save some time and stress!
Thanks for the informative video Sam!
    Yuval.

I have to agree I have only bought a 3/8" fingernail grind and a 1/2" bottom feeder they both awesome tools I am new to wood turning but I have been in construction a long time I know a quality tool when I see one. What I have saw in the 2 tools I have I see awesome quality. His flutes are near perfect when you get a tool from dway they are like a razor. Dave is a craftsman, and a big help to anyone that had a question. If you are new or experienced I recomend to you to give his tools a try. You will not be sorry.

Thanks as always Sam for a great video. I recently bought a 3/8" and 1/2" D-Way beading tools. I've been play a bit on side grain and seem to have a problem with tear out. I'm thinking its just a matter of finding that magic orientation combination (i.e., tool rest position or height, distance from the workpiece, tool presentation angle, etc.). Do you have any hints? In this video when you were placing beads in side grain I never got a view of all those positions. Thanks, Vern

Thanks for doing a review video on tools you actually bought. I have to ask two questions. Firstly, can you use a diamond card versus the grinder for sharpening? Secondly, Do you just denib the beads? I mean now way could I hope to sand something that fine. Thanks again.

James Templeton James, this is a perfect tool for honing on a diamond file. But it takes so little to touch it up on the cbn wheel.
Depending on the wood, it may be necessary to sand a little. Usually it is not necessary. Sam

I purchased from D-way at AAW an 1/8" and a 3/16" beading tool. I made my first few beads last night and really like the way they cut. Do you have any experience with the D-way tear drop tool?

    • @WYOMINGWOODTURNER
      @WYOMINGWOODTURNER  Před rokem

No, I don’t. Is that like a point tool. Not even sure what it looks like. Sam.

@@WYOMINGWOODTURNER Similar uses to a point tool, a teardrop shape.
