My husband and I have recently committed to getting up at 5 together to have quiet time to get ready and drink coffee together before the kids wake up. It has made such a huge difference for us! We are more relaxed and productive all day because of it. We also are more motivated to get to bed early. It's my new favorite habit.

Elisabeth Reh the goal is 9pm. :) Sometimes it’s not til 10 and then I’m soooo exhausted by that point! It works well for us because we have young children, and they are in bed by 7:30 anyway. We get our time to watch a show or catch up, and we get to be productive and have our coffee in the morning before kids wake up.

I changed my words and my purpose for getting up.
How many times had I said: "I have to get up for work in 'x' hours"?
Well, I stopped waking up to 'go to work' and started waking up to 'enjoy my day'!
I set my alarm to wake up and do something I love: I love to be in my garden!
So in the summer I would set my alarm for 5am to go outside to weed or trim my garden at sunrise or just sit in a comfy chair on the porch with my tea and contemplate it's beauty. It's a completely different experience at that hour when the birds are waking up and the day is fresh and coming to life... and in the winter, I 'garden' indoors with my house plants; or do reading and planning for the spring/fall planting.
Whatever your 'love' or hobby is; do that which gives you joy, for a bit of time in the morning. It will change your whole outlook AND then you never have to experience the 'oops, I-slept-past-snooze-and-now-I'm-going-to-be-late' rush!
    Your life will thank you!

My morning starts at 5AM, I'll do my daily scripture reading and spend few minutes on journal writing while playing some soothing classical music on spotify to start my day. Then I'll go out for a jog then shower when I come back. I'll have simple breakfast then spend some extra 15-30 minutes reading my favorite novel. After that, I'll do my work and study. I don't scroll through social media nor email nor games on my phone in the morning except for alarm and checking the weather. I've been following this routine for a week now and it's pretty nice. I'm much more productive in the morning than in the afternoon~ :)

I became a morning person after years of being night owl. I found out that being a morning person makes me more productive and I feel better. It took me a year by setting my alarm for 7:30 a.m. Sometimes I would sleep through the alarm, sometimes I would wake up and then go back to sleep, sometimes I would get up and then go back to sleep later. After a while I would get up and stay up and then take a nap later. Now I am getting up and staying up most days with out a nap which I really like. Now I can work on my next goal. I enjoy your videos and your food looks very good. It looks nutritious and delicious. Thank you.

Having an exercise class to go to every weekday morning at 9 AM has given my life structure. That is what I particularly needed. It's a class that I really enjoy, with people I like, and it's only minutes from my house. Additionally, it only lasts 45 minutes... an hour or more would feel way too daunting for me. Weekends are for sleeping in if I want to, and having a leisurely start to the day. So I begin every day being productive (got my workout out of the way; any active things I do thereafter are a bonus), and when I come home I enjoy a warm shower with all my favorite fragrant products, and then I'm ready to nourish myself well. Before finding this exercise class I'd try my best to get up and get going for a walk, run or bike ride - but I kept procrastinating on my start time till eventually I lost motivation entirely and rationalized that I'd try again tomorrow... or next week... Then I'd be mad and frustrated with myself. So if you're like me and really thrive on structure, that's my advice. Do something you're accountable to, where people will notice if you don't show up, and they'll miss you. Works for me!

Jody Nagra I get up at 4:45 for work so trust me I feel the same way. If I'm really exhausted and feel like I have to sleep I'll usually SIT on the couch, put my head back and doze for a few minutes. If I lie down it's all over and I'll never sleep at night. I also find it helpful to have a cup of coffee (hot tea, hot chai, etc) and a snack around 3:00. Then I'll eat dinner around 4:30 and by 7:00 I'm starting my routine to get into bed at 8:00 and read for as bit. Keep trying!

i am like you, and i would put my alarm on the last 10 minutes before sunrise to gain more sleep, but after a while i started to wake up without an alarm, as if an angle will nudge me to wake me up just as fajr call for prayer comes on, it is such a beautiful and serene feeling to pray early in the morning. it sets your whole day to be a giving, productive happy time.

I am a terrible night owl.. at one point I was going to bed at 5 or 6am and waking up at 4pm XP
I'm trying to be a morning person now because I have a job that requires me to start early. One tip I found really effective is to only use your bed for sleep and never lie in your bed awake.
Another fantastic tip is to reset your circadian rhythm by going outside for 10/15 min first thing after you wake up so your body feels the sun and realizes it's time to wake up

My focus has improved dramatically, my mental clarity has definitely been impacted in a positive way , my health improved since I started going to bed at 10 at night , and I get a lot of stuff done rather than waste time ... At age 43 , I feel like I am sitting on top of the world ...

I was always a night person.
But then something suddenly changed and i was craving for daylight but my fucked up sleep schedule wasnt helping.
As the daylight would start to fade, so would be my energy to do anything. I guess this is what growing up is like.
I was trying hard to fall asleep early but would always end up staying awake till 7am.
A week ago i fell asleep at 10. And woke up at 4. I HAD SO MUCH TIME.
And now i am trying to keep up with it.
I always take a shower at night. And i guess that has helped me getting a good sleep.
There is a reason why our circadian rhythm is set up the way it is. Waking up early feels good and productive. I am loving it.

As I’m not really a “people” person and absolutely TREASURE my personal time against going to work and being pummeled with requests from others who often think that their project is the only project, I find that the thing that is most warm and inviting are having pets. I’ve had dogs and, now, have cats because the rules have been changed where I live. But, as I find there to often be more humanity provided by my pets than my workday, they provide a warm and loving way for this life long night owl to be exhumed in the morning.😆 Also, as I walk one of my cats on a harness and leash, as he is amenable to it and even loves people and dogs, he keeps me in touch with nature. Without my 2 angels, I’d likely go to work, go home, field problems from work and family and that might be the entirety of my life.

Hey, I have been recovering from PTSD due which I used to have seizures on a continuous basis and now nightmares. Your vlog has allowed me to introspect and has been highly useful.
I have transitioned from being a night owl to a morning person and one thing that worked for me was meditating before I sleep. I sit on my bedroom floor and remove every single thought before I go to sleep. Before I do this routine, I usually have had finished preparing my bullet journal's skeleton for the next day and tasks aligned and have taken a nice green tea to soothe my body.
Meditating for 10 mins and stretching and has helped me reduce nightmares and wake up feeling better than before. :)

I'm such a night owl... Always have been. But as I've grown older and the way my body feels and also moving back to my home state of Alaska, time is of the essence! We have very short days and the darkness comes at about 4:30. So I've been learning that I really need to wake up early to get things done. I've been having a hard time with this because I'm a night owl. But I have realized I have got to change that. Thank you so much for this video. Tonight I am going to sleep earlier 15 mins before I usually go to bed and set my alarm for 15 mins earlier than what I usually wake up, I do believe that just these 15 mins will help regulate my body easier into getting up early! I can agree that a sleep deprived body can make people think you are intoxicated. I use to do security over night and the day before I had got off work from doing an overnight and I didn’t get much sleep because my aunt and her kids who lived with me for a while where loud and making noise so I went to work very sleep and I didn’t go to sleep but when I got home in the morning on my birthday I had to do something with my mom when I just wanted to get some sleep before I had to be to work tomorrow afternoon and I just started crying because I was so tired. And then I started falling up the stairs I could walk and in public if you saw me my eyes where blood shot and I could focus and I just kept walking like I was drunk and I almost walk into on coming traffic I was seeing two of things I was out until I had to go to my hair appointment as soon as I got there I went to sleep while she was doing my hair and I woke up when she was done but I can agree you act like you are drunk my mom had to watch me

Something I've been doing lately is setting an alarm for one hour earlier to alert me that I should be in bed. For the past nights I haven't made it in to bed at the exact time I had the alarm set for but it still has the affect of me saying in my head " I should be in bed". So I have actually been in bed earlier than I normally would have been. It works the same way when you want to be out the door by a specific time and you give yourself an earlier time so that you will actually be wherever it is on time! Last night I finally was in bed by 10 pm and asleep by 10:30pm, up at 6:30 am! Big improvement for me! I had it on track for awhile but then since I was off track it has taken me forever to get back!
