Imagine nights out - listening and dancing to this sort of Big Band Live Music ! A completely different mind set / spirit in terms of music, fun, culture, humour, etiquette, romance etc.
I keep asking myself why we so willingly gave that all up ? And keep getting only one answer: We must be insane ...

Martha was originally one of the "Camel Swing Chorus" (under Jeff Alexander's direction) on Benny's "CAMEL CARAVAN" {"BENNY GOODMAN'S SWING SCHOOL"} in mid-1937. He was looking for someone to replace Helen Ward on a permanent basis- and "discovered" her. She became his star vocalist that August.
