although i still watch all of your videos i cant help but to miss your adventures on AWOL , your time on AWOL was a time we could watch, learn and enjoy, what you are showing us now is interesting, but sadly unobtainable dreams for a lot of us. Wish you all the best in your new career, you deserve success in whatever endeavour you follow after giving us years of your time aboard super yachts and sharing your expertise.

You are pretty thoroughly up to date on Berings and I think you did the company and boat a disservice by leaving out most of the Bering features: way overbuilt in metal thickness: an Aquila 32, by comparison is 5000 lbs. less.. Lots of detail in the finer points of design although it looks utilitarian. Massive reinforcements of deck gear, rails, cleats, etc.. The stern rails in the opening shots are MASSIVE like on a 90 footer. The oversized rub-rails are metal and additionally reinforce the already overbuilt topsides. The build quality is Bering which is several orders of magnitude higher than that of conventional pleasure boats. I, for one, always favor a fully enclosed cabin for shore boats. It can get hot, cold or rainy and there is no reason for guests or crew to get soaked when leaving a yacht. It is eminently capable but, on the downside, it is not a pretty boat for use as a tender. For an expedition boat it would be more suitable. No reason why Bering, with its engineering staff, could not soften the hull profile for yacht use. It is a beast, not a Castoldi or Chase. Might have been useful to point that out.

Tristan won the William Bligh award for captains. He once keel-hauled a deckhand for leaving fingerprints on his trophy. Stowaways jump overboard when they hear he is the captain. Insubordinate crew members carve the number of days into the wood when they receive captain's mast.
