    Speaking as a Flight Instructor and charter pilot who has done about 20,000 landings, I also have about 1000 hrs on aircraft of the same size as the P2012, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the touchdown, the rollout down the runway or the turn off the runway onto the taxiway. It was completely normal.

      Totally agree with you.
      Could be a bit windy and since this plane is lighter then Boeing 737 - the author felt wind effects more pronounced :)

      I didn’t see any indication of swerving in the video either. More likely some effect from light gusts

    I just have 2 things to say, it's spelt as Tecnam, not Technam. Secondly, it is a piston engine plane, not a turboprop.

    Nice!!! I flew Cape Air onboard the Tecnam P2012 to St Louis and back out of Marion, IL! I loved the sounds and comfort on those aircrafts. Hearing about their issues and such made me question things about the airplane. Awesome trip report!!!

    At 5:00 your flight was not "cleared for takeoff on the runway", you were "cleared to line up and wait"- - - - BIG DIFFERENCE. The takeoff clearance likely came at 05:47 with the release of the brakes (airplane/shadow begins to move) and the spool up of the engines at 5:52. Your flight touched down right at the "fixed distance marker" and that is 1,000' down from the end of the runway, which is EXACTLY where your flight should land-think bulls eye & textbook perfect! Judging from the lateral displacement from the runway centerline it looked like almost no deviation so I'm not sure what you were "feeling" but it looked like a perfect touchdown and roll out to me. These type of short haul commuter pilots get lots of practice doing takeoffs and landings. After a few short weeks or months on the job their skills (with few exceptions) are going to be razor sharp! Same thing goes for their instrument flying abilities i am not aware of any better way to develop excellent flying skills than flying single pilot multi-engine hard IFR in a scheduled commuter service. I've never had an issue flying with anybody's flying skills when that individual spent any time as a commuter pilot. In my opinion they are simply the "best" (for airline flying).

    Normal textbook landing to me. He did great. Also, these newer Technams do not break down all the time. No idea where you are hearing that. Probably from Cessna stans. It was their old aging Cessnas breaking down, hence why they upgraded.

    What was the reason for not allowing to film during boarding? It been filmed thousands times.

    You don't normally think "sexy" when it's a small piston twin commuter airliner. But Tecnams have beautiful lines.

  • @waelwael4783

    Is it profitable to fly small airplanes? (Only 8 seats) ..prices are competetive with other regional airlines deploying ATR for example?

    Pistons unfortunetly are loud by nature. For some reason 9K has an issue with filming during boarding. Jeb Brooks mentioned on a BOS-BHB leg recently that they did not allow the boarding process to be filmed.

  • @TexanUSMC8089
    @TexanUSMC8089 Před rokem +3

    Why would they break down a lot? They have the tried and true Lycoming 540 engines and Garmin 1000 avionics.

    • @michaelhandley5445
      @michaelhandley5445 Před rokem

      They do NOT break down a lot. I don’t know where he got his information. There are a lot of software updates which can result in pulling them out of service for a few hours.

    • @twisterzman
      @twisterzman Před rokem +1

      We fly these. They are in the hanger more than in the air. Oil consumption and leaks beyond ridiculous. We've stopped orders. Multiple aircraft with lycoming recommending engine replacement with less than 4k hrs on them is a HUGE problem

      @@twisterzman sorry to hear that. So it’s not a airframe problem but a Lycoming issue? You an A&P? Obviously 4000 hours means bad QC and manufacturing. What’s the official TBO supposed to be?
