A DOG..late 80s movie called 91/2 weeks..Kim Bassinger, and MICKEY Rourke.. the Cocker song written for this movie a B movie but cult classic, is centered on a montage of Bassinger and Rourke , and a fridge full of food, late at night. What could have been a very tacky scene, is so joyous , and other than the actors, THE SONG IS THE KEY!! JUST LEAVE YOUR HAT ON!! Joe Cocker is such a unique entertainer. He was an English singer known for his gritty, bluesy voice & dynamic stage performances that featured expressive body movements. He recorded a few Beatles' songs "With A Little Help From My Friends", "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" & "Something". Other hits were "Up Where We Belong" (a duet with Jennifer Warnes), "Delta Lady", "Darling Be Home Soon", "Cry Me A River", "Feelin' Alright", "The Letter" etc.
Joe made a career out of doing covers. Not many can say that.

I’m 71. The first couple times I saw Joe I just smiled at his contortions and didn’t take him seriously. But then I began to appreciate that he just didn’t give a shit…..he was beyond himself and into the performance. And at Woodstock he just killed it with this Beatles remix. Soulful!

This is such a great song and Joe Cocker is such an excellent performer. If you like Joe, you should do his cover of the Beatles song "With A Little Help From My Friends". It is so good that I believe it was Paul McCartney (could have been John Lennon though) who told Joe that the song now was his because he made that song something more than it ever was when the Beatles did it. You will love that song.
